I stumbled upon Oness and Painters Here! by mistake. The initial painter I set up was starting to fall through. While dropping our child off at daycare at 6:40 AM, I noticed Painters Here already hustling to paint the house next door. I kept an eye on the project during my daily drop offs and was impressed at the efficiency, speed, and quality of his work. I was sure he, like other painters mid summer, would be booked out the rest of the summer but I called anyways.
I was a bit skeptical when Oness called me back right away and had interest in our project. I was skeptical when he showed up to see the project on time, clean, smelling fresh, with brand new painters clothes on. He was so nice and I got a kick out of how passionate he was about his work and our project. I was also skeptical when his detailed written estimate came in lowest of 4 companies (1/3 the price of Genesis). I was also skeptical of the glowing 5 star reviews on thumbtack.com. But at this point, I was running out of options and decided to give him a shot.
Oness didn't disappoint. He is a true career professional painter. This isn't a summer job, part time work, or something he offers in additional to other services. There are no cutting corners or shortcuts, only tricks of the trade. He worked his tail off to get our project done around the rain schedule including two 11 hour Saturdays and one Sunday. Oness never stopped moving. No breaks, no cigarettes, no lunch, no phone calls. He started by thoroughly washing our house using soap and let it dry. He then came back and scraped, spot primed any bare wood, glazed a few windows, and applied two coats to everything. He wrapped up with caulking and touch ups. Anything that could be removed was removed (light fixtures, gutters, mailbox, house numbers, etc) and what couldn't be removed was masked. It would have been easy to justify leaving our gutters off at night, but Oness went the extra mile and re-installed them daily at the threat of rain. Despite being so thorough and detailed he got the project done ahead of schedule. At the end, I emailed to double checked that one tiny touch up was complete and the next morning (Sunday)... here comes Oness with his 45 foot ladder happily completing the final touch! I also appreciated how everything was documented in writing and he provided the actual paint receipts as evidence of the amount of paint used. He also passed on his significant paint discount to us, something many painters keep for themselves.
So despite being skeptical, Oness exceeded our expectations all around and I would highly recommend him. He is fair, honest, reasonable, and a great great guy on top of it all. Thanks again!
