The store employee arranged for one of the color design specialist to call me on her day off. Tessa Schaecher was the designer and was absolutely amazing. I had walked in frustrated not know what exterior colors would compliment the other etc., and I had to have my mind made up the following day. Tessa explained different thoughts about the colors and answered a lot of my questions. She offered some beautiful idea combinations and her patience was remarkable. She made my experience super fun and relaxing. I walked out of the store feeling incredibly relieved and happy! Thanks again Tessa and Sherwin Williams for making the meeting happen! Sue

The manager, sales reps, and employees far exceed the quota! They are very knowledgeable, very kind, and always in a good mood. They've gone above and beyond more times than I can count. Lee (Sales Rep) - Knows way more about the paint world than I thought possible, super nice guy! This doesn't discredit the rest of the team because they are also the reason why the environment is the way it is. Thanks to all!

And super eager to do their jobs. Can't remember their names, but two females that work there...made the experience all the better. That being said! Haha! Now comes the surrious, surrioussss part. I gave it 3 stars when I wanted to give it two. As mentioned, the staff put at 3 stars and had this been a review just on the in-store staff, I would have GLADLY given 5 stars. So I moved into my home a year ago this past Spring. One of the contracted painters with this store, Jason, was the one we were SO blessed to have as the guy painting the house Exactly ONE year to the day of moving in, the roommate and I noticed that the paint from this place...began to peel away from the rain gutters as well as some of the trim. Roommate contacted the painter and his response was something like "I am not responsible for that sort of thing" That was it. His response didn't surprise me all that much. I mean, it was crazy rude, because that sort of reaction reflects back on this business. Do they contract quality guys to paint? Hmmm So, basically, ahem! Ahem! Lol, if you choose this place, just keep in mind that the paint...is NOT the best quality...and if Jason ends up being sent to your house, sorry, Jason, but people...request another person to do the job. My house is about 1500 sq ft. It's a contemporary style house from the 80's. Its unique af! Some parts of the roof...shoot up to 17ft at their highest peak. So, I get it can be difficult. Jason..proved that. I don't wanna say to much about him. I mean, aside from his rude response to the gutters/trim peeling...he was a pretty nice guy. Big dude. It took him a month to complete the house. It easily could have been completed in maybeeee 2 weeks? He just called the roommate a LOT to say he wasn't coming and for various reasons. So, this review wasn't as colorful as I guess it could have been. But I'm on Yelp to tell the truth about businesses and the services they provide. That being said, thanks for reading. Cheers!

I went to the 36th and State Street Rodda Paint store today. The staff (Mack) greeted me cheerfully…read moreand asked if I needed any help. I told him I wanted 2 gallons of a particular stain so he wrote it up and hauled it out the the car for me. After arriving back home, I realized that the stain was a solid, not the semi-transparent I wanted, so I went back to the store. Sure enough, The sign over the stain I bought clearly stated it was a SOLID stain, so the fault was mine. The manager located what I should have bought, explained exactly how to prepare the surface and gave me a substantial discount on the two new gallons although, I'm sure he didn't have to. I will most certainly buy from them again and again!

It saddens me that I have to leave such a negative review for this place, since my first impression…read moreof this Miller Paint store was initially good. However, I would discourage anyone from ever visiting this store due to their unethical business practices. When I first was here I spoke to James, who gave me some good recommendations as far as paint brand goes, he seemed personable and knowledgable. He then recommended I get 2 Gallons of paint for a small 135 sq ft room (I made clear that I was not looking to paint the ceiling, trim, or closet), which I did not question at that time due to this being my first paint project. He said that should mostly cover it with some paint leftover... Once I decided which colors I wanted to go with I came back to this store and spoke again to James, this time the store manager Annie was present too. Both were friendly while assisting me, and after they clarified for a second time the square footage of the room (I reiterated that it was a small room of 135 sq ft, and that I was not looking to paint ceiling, trim, or closet, just the walls), they ended up selling me the aforementioned 2 Gallons of paint and another 1 Gallon of paint for an accent wall. Little did I know at that time that this was way, way too much paint... After the project was finished I was shocked to find out that I had about 1.5 Gallons leftover of the main paint color (with one of the Gallon containers completely unused and unopened), and most of the other color. I realized that they had severely oversold me. So I packed up the unused can and the partial used one and headed over there a couple days later. Neither James nor Annie were in that day, but instead a guy that filled in for them named Isaiah. I explained my situation to him and he too seemed to be puzzled at how much paint they had recommended and sold to me, and admitted it was indeed way too much paint since one of those Gallon cans is supposed to cover 300-400 sq ft. He then proceeded to explain that they would not be able to refund the 1 Gallon I had not even used, due to it being "tinted". He also said that particular brand of paint they only seem to have in 1 Gallon cans, so that would explain why I got a whole Gallon for the accent wall, however, they could have easily recommended to get a Quart of a similar color of another brand or something, but their goal was very clearly to sell me as much paint as possible. Isaiah suggested I leave the unused can with the receipt and my name and phone number so he could explain the situation to the store manager Annie, who was supposed to be there the next day, in order to possibly find some kind of solution. Two days later, I did not receive a call, nothing. I also checked my account balance just in case they unexpectedly refunded a portion of the purchase, but no. Basically these people flatout lied to my face and did it with a smile, and no attempt at all to make it right, not even a store credit. And they still have that can of unused paint which I had left there upon Isaiah's recommendation, which I am not going to retrieve after this disaster, I never want to see these scammers again. If there ends up being some kind of response to this review by them I would not believe a word they are saying, they demonstrated so clearly that they have no hesitation to lie to their customers even in person. My recommendation is to stay far away from this store, I'm sure there are paint stores in the area with ethical business practices.
