I wanted to purchase some paint and supplies. I picked out my supplies and during that 20+ minutes, I was never approached by an employee, despite being the only person in the store. I stood at the paint area for 10 minutes and apparently I was invisible because the employee never left his stool at the front of the store. I decided to buy the supplies and go elsewhere for my paint. When I checked out, I was asked if I found everything and responded with a no. The employee still firmly on his stool asked what I needed and I advised I was wanting to buy some paint . The response was, "Oh well, that's the way it goes." No offer to help. I now know that this store is unwilling/unable to meet even the most basic hardware needs. Go elsewhere. read more

My Traeger grill died this weekend so I went into Ace to take advantage of the free assembly and delivery. I have a family BBQ this weekend so didn't have time to deal with assembly myself. The associates were very friendly and helpful so I made the purchase and had delivery set up. The grill came today and I immediately fired it up. To my surprise, it didn't work and gave an error code. I called Ace and they said there was nothing they could do for me and to call Traeger. Traeger went through some troubleshooting which did not fix the grill so they are sending a part for me to fix. So I spent $2000 on a grill that doesn't work and now have to fix myself. Why Ace didn't check the operation of the grill after assembly and before delivery is a mystery. Furthermore, why can't they swap out the defective merchandise for a functioning grill. Purchased a $59 Dog Door on their inventory reduction sale. When got it home we opened the box, and the dog door was used and chewed up. Tried to return the next day but they said all sales were final. Requested the manager/owner to call me several times to resolve this but never got a return call. Beware the owner does not give a shit about any of this customer is very hands off. On top of that no one in the store has any authority to resolve customer complaints on a $59 purchase! You should probably open everting you buy there before you purchase. Evidently, they have no problem selling used and damaged items as new! So unbelievable I do not even have words for how we were treated by this location. Would defiantly not do business with this location or the State St. location. Management and ownership is a compete shit show. Ohh and big 40% off sale was only $6.00 lower than where you can buy it anywhere else. So, in summary, it's no surprise why the place looks like it's been driven into the ground. I will never go back, and I live 3 blocks away. read more

I am so happy we have an Ace Hardware close by our home again! The people in this store go out of their way to help! My sons wedding is today. And the white lites got lost to decorate the venue. I called A e and asked if they had any left over from Christmas ? They thought they might and went upstairs to a storage area. They called me back and said "Yes". They had quite a few! I ran over there and in the back the nice gentleman had put out all the storage boxes with lights and opened them ALL up so I could see what kind to get!!! I love getting personal service! I came in the other day with my dog to find some blinds. Being a girl it's hard sometimes going in asking for help with hardware because I don't know much about it. I walked in and was instantly greeted with a smiles and Brad and Zach were seriously the most accommodating and helpful people I've experienced in a long time. They went out of their way to double and triple check the stock of the store and even radioed the front girls (Mary ann) I think and another younger woman to send us off with a dog treat. Yelp really needs to allow 0 stars. This place isn't worth a 1 star review. They sell Craftsman tools. Big sign in the aisle, "Lifetime warranty". Not here at Ace. I tried to warranty some Craftsman tools here. I was told to go to the warehouse on Allumbaugh St. The guy at the counter didn't have an address or a name on the building. So I needed to leave, go to the addressless, nameless warehouse somewhere on Allumbaugh St. to get my tools warrantied. He also tried to tell me I needed to call Craftsman to warranty them. I had already called Craftsman, long before this adventure started. They say just go to your nearest retailer and warranty the tools. Basically the same as it has always been. Somehow the stores don't know this. So basically, he was saying--how fast can I get this guy out of the store so I don't have to help him. Foolishly I drove across town and drove around on Allumbaugh St. Found what the nameless, addressless warehouse--what used to be the old Sears service center . . . that was closed in 2018. So I had to make a second trip back to Ace to try to warranty my tools. Finally got to speak with a manager when I told them about the run around I already received to the nameless, addressless warehouse somewhere on Allumbaugh. The manger also just wanted to send me down the road. Said Lowes warranties the tools, not them. I insisted she call Craftsman, since she was telling me I needed to. She finally did, they schooled her on how to do a warranty, and it was handled. Cool. Glad I can train your people on how to do their job. Yesterday I went back to warranty another tool. Thinking I had worked through the training process already, it shouldn't be too much of a struggle. The manager I had previously trained on how to do her job wasn't there. So I started over with the run around. Them telling me go here, go there, basically, go anywhere but here. They refused to call Craftsman to learn how. Finally one guy called the owner of the store who I got to speak with. He told me he would "NOT WARRANTY ANYTHING HE SOLD". Wow. Ok then sir. Good to know this is your business model. I'd recommend NOT buying anything from them, unless you aren't expecting anything. They may have people who greet you in the store and ask if they can help you . . . but they aren't serious. They just want to make the quick buck on the initial sale and have no interest in customer service beyond that. If I wanted tools with no warranty, there are plenty of other options. STAY AWAY. BOTTOM OF THE BARREL CUSTOMER SERVICE. EVEN THE OWNER DOESN'T CARE AND WON'T WARRANTY ITEMS THAT ARE ADVERTISED AS LIFETIME WARRANTY. 0 star rating! read more
