They have creamsicle flavor mochi donuts! Drop what you're doing and get here! I stopped in for a poke bowl and now I can't stop thinking about the creamsicle mochi donuts. Is this new?

Great little Hawaiian Restaurant so many here on the 9th Island. Small restaurant with very limited seating and when seating is not available have a plan B the car 5.2026

The customer service is always great here and they are pretty fast at getting your food. The spam musubi was very good! I tried the inari for the first time this go around and was not a big fan. It was very soggy and drenched in sauce. The tuna did not have much flavor. I don't think I would order again.

Everything's made to order unless you ordered through online. The poke is fresh and yummy!!! Definitely our go-to poke bowl from now on! (Not pictured) but I had the taro mochi donut and it was good. Def get 'em!

Late post from our visit on 3/16/2025. Cute little shop which reminds me of home Good food with a reasonable price range. We love ordering their food and mochi donuts to go and this was the first time I've dined in. Paina Cafe is a reliable go-to spot if you are missing home and need some local grinds.

I walked to Paina Cafe after feeling slightly disappointed with a beef curry bun from Pullman Bread close by and was hoping they'd still have Spam musubi available--luckily, they did. Ordering was fast and easy, and the spam musubi was thoroughly enjoyable and really hit the spot. Paina Cafe feels like a reliable go-to, especially if you're craving mochi donuts, Inari, or musubi. Service was friendly and efficient. This location is smaller than the Spring Mountain location, which is the one I usually visit. Overall, I'm glad people in this area have access to a Paina Cafe. It's a solid, dependable option for a quick, satisfying bite.

This was my first time trying Paina Cafe, and it did not disappoint. They have several specialty bowls, or you can create your own. They also offer poke to purchase by the weight if you don't want a bowl. The fish was delicious and they offer a very generous portion. I dropped my rating down to 4 stars because in my opinion, when creating the Build Your Own bowl, additional toppings should not be charged for. 70 cents for each additional topping you add seems a little expensive, especially if you're just adding nori shreds or green onions. It can add up very quickly. Other than that, their specialty bowls are delicious and offer a good amount of toppings for a reasonable price. The fish tastes nice and fresh. Will be coming back when in the area!

Stopped by to pick up a dozen of Mochi Donuts. Place is decent size with decent amount of seating. Service was great! Loved the cute box they use! We brought the donuts for desserts to a dinner- everyone enjoyed the donuts and devoured it. Definitely were a hit!

Pa'ina Cafe is a place that serves comforting Hawaiian cuisines and delicious sweet mochi donuts. The cashier was friendly, welcoming, and patient. The store is simply decorated and clean. The cafe has several small tables for inside seating only. One unisex restroom. They also sell other merchandise like t-shirts, etc. *Strawberry Mochi Donut (no pic). Chewy donut with a flavorful strawberry icing. I'll be back to try some other things next time.

I have tried a lot of poke and this place is for sure one of the best in terms of value and quality. My Kewalo Bowl was chock full of shoyu ahi that was well seasoned and every item had a purpose adding to the flavor experience. Upgrade to the large for the $1 more. It's worth it. They also offer mochi donuts, which are light, bouncy and not over fried tasting either a nice thick glaze that sweetens the experience. The thing that elevated this experience for me over the value, quality and taste was the service of the young lady at the register. It wasn't busy but she made sure that the kitchen was able to accommodate my sesame allergy and overly clarified to ensure that I had the best experience possible. Her friendly personality and recommendations made this a place to go back to again. The restaurant itself was clean with metallic tables, bright lighting and fun poster. If you enjoy poke and live in south west or near spring mountain, check them out!

Not a large location but it does its job. They are extremely helpful with giving recommendations and suggestions. We ordered the Guava Chicken and a Poke Bowl along with 2 Mochi Donuts! Excited to go back and try other things.

I have a favorite dish that I always order from here, the ahi katsu. Best thing in the world. Also have to get a couple of donuts to go with it!

A great spot for quality poke. They have poke bowls and plates. You can also create your own bowl which is what we did. Aside from the bowls, you have the option of ordering poke on the side in 4, 8 or 16 oz. Had to grab the 16oz spicy tuna. They also have mochi donuts with variety of flavors. The wait wasn't too long, got served fairly quick. Inside there's a few tables but no outdoor seating.

Dining area is small but there's adequate seating for a table, by the window, and along the wall. Menu offers a great selection of chicken, shrimp, steaks, salmon, ahi, pork, as well as Hawaiian plates, island favorites, fried noodles, and poke. I ordered my go-to for Dynamite Chicken Katsu (mini, $13.52), its crispy breaded chicken, meat is tender and moist, has amazing wasabi aioli and spicy sauce drizzle, very savory and wonderfully delicious! Served with tasty crab potato salad and kimchi. Also had Fried Noodles (mini, $7.28), the egg noodles are delicious, topped with chopped scallions and kamaboko (Japanese fish cake), it's really good! Spam Musubi ($4.16) is tasty! It does need sauce and there are condiments like soy sauce and hot sauce available on the table. For a lovely treat, they make the best Japanese Milk Pudding, it's delightful and not too sweet! I ordered a regular ($5.20) and tried Ube flavor ($5.20), both are yummy! Ube flavor is so good! The milk pudding has a delicate, silky, bouncy texture, and comes with a sweet Japanese syrup. The milk pudding on its own is so YUM! The syrup itself is very sweet, so only pour a little bit. They also have fun cookies on display locally sourced from The Cookie Bar. I tried Crème Brûlée Cookie ($4.50), it's a huge sugar cookie with a beautiful crisp glaze and is very sweet. MacDaddy Cookie ($4.50) is excellent, it has white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts, this one taste great! Service from Koltyn and Zadus is very kind, welcoming, polite, and friendly!

Heard good things about this place and wanted to try lots of things so we got two combo plates. First combo was the garlic chicken with shoyu poke. Being from Hawaii this was as close to home as you can get on the mainland. The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside while soft on the inside. The poke was spot on as if it was flown in from Hawaii. Second combo was the ahi katsu and meat jun. Katsu wasn't too crispy since there was a lot of sauce but the flavor was pretty good and ahi was cooked well. The meat jun was soft and seasoned well too. Overall, great to have this place when you want local Hawaii style foods as someone who is from Hawaii. Good variety and everything on the menu was pretty good and very filling. Definitely felt the kanak attack after we finished eating!

Things were still getting together but I have faith they will get back to their normal flow. Food was tasty as always. Had the beef ribs and the kalua pig today. The Kalua pig was a very tasty version. One of the better ones I've had in town for my taste. Not too smoky, felt like it was roasted for a long time. The meat was still intact but tender. Ribs were as they always are. The only thing today, was that the boxes didn't feel as full as they normally do. Only got 4 ribs today and they weren't all that meaty. The pig dish wasn't full to the brim either. Also, prices have gone up from the menu, so seeing higher prices (totally understandable) and less food was a little disappointing. Service was friendly for the most part, but be ready for longer waits. Maybe it was because of the move, but it was a 15-20 min wait today. The ribs are still the best in town, I'm hoping the small portion was just a one off.

His cousin couldn't stop raving about the food, so we decided to check it out for dinner last night. We ordered the Crackhead Chicken and Da "OG" Beef to share, and I also got a Spam musubi I had been craving. The musubi was HUGE and really hit the spot. We also ordered a side of Crackhead Chicken without the spice for our 1 year old, and she LOVED it. Normally she throws her food, but this time she actually ate it and kept making the cutest "yummy" faces the whole time. The moment I took my first bite of chicken, my reaction said it all. The flavor was INCREDIBLE! It had a perfect balance of sweetness from the coconut and a nice kick from the spices. Everything worked so well together, and the chicken itself was unbelievably moist and juicy. I also loved that the meat was served over the rice, allowing for all the juices to soak in. The rice was soft, flavorful, and just as satisfying. The macaroni salad was hands down my favorite compared to any Hawaiian BBQ spot I've tried. I also had a few bites of the beef, which had an amazing flavor and just the right amount of char to elevate it even more. The only thing that didn't stand out to me was the coleslaw, but we found out later that you can substitute for extra macaroni salad for an additional 50 cents. We will definitely do that next time! Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will absolutely be back whenever we are in the area. One quick note for parents: there are no high chairs available, and we even searched the entire food court. Since it's inside a casino, it's understandable, but just something to keep in mind.
