    Jjamppong ($14.95)

I love coming here for their jjamppong ($14.95). The bowl is large enough for my husband and me to share. Portion is equally generous when ordering to-go. The jajangmyeon is also good ($11.95)! Bonus points because they're located in a plaza with outdoor seating so we can bring our dog.

I have been to their other 2 locations and this place served a way smaller portion. There was barely any meats inside the sauce. Almost $15 with tax. They are located inside Hmart.

My friend treated us after pickleball tournament at La Habra. We ordered spicy jjamppong (it's extra spicy - really spicy and good), jajangmyeon (typical Korean Chinese style), sweet & sour pork (authentic) Vibe is clean, self serve Korean Chinese noodle shop with enough menu items. Everything is well thought off and clean. Portions are large and price is good. And it's speedy perfect if you are hungry and looking for quick lunch or dinner.

After eating jjajangmyeon last night, my wife wanted more. This time, we decided on an old favorite...Paik's Noodle in Buena Park. I first tried it when I went to Santa Clara for training and was excited when I found one within an hour's drive. There are differences but offer the same standard fare. Paik's Noodle features chef Paik, a renown Korean chef. My wife knows this with her BTS obsession. He owns a few restaurants in Korea and is well-versed in Korean culture and cuisine. This particular Paik's Noodle is small shop where one orders and given a pager. The menu seemed expanded! There were more options available including chicken wings and jjajangmyeon with meat. We ordered jjajangmyeon with meat, jjajang rice with jjampong soup, and fried dumplings. Jjajang sauce is great with just about anything but something about having it with rice, egg, and soup makes the meal feel complete. My wife devoured the jjajangmyeon and really appreciated the meat as regular jjajangmyeon sauce has onions and cabbage only. However, the sauce is a bit on the sweet side and my wife prefers savory notes better. We will probably be back especially since it is conveniently located by an H-mart, 85 degrees, and Daiso.

I haven't been here for a moment and on our way home we decided to grab black noodles, jampong, and sweet and sour pork with the boys. Ordering is simple and quick enough. You can choose to eat inside or there are outside communal patio area so we opted for that since we had our puppy with us. This is a quick bite to eat place for when you have that craving for black noodles and sweet and sour pork. The black noodles are tasty...if you have a craving for it by all means swing by and get it out of your system. The jampong broth has slightly changed. It has a slightly deeper taste than before, which in the past tasted like pepper water without any deep seafood taste. However, it is still slightly lacking in flavor still. Sweet and sour pork is always our boys' favorite and this one is also great if you ever take it for take out. The menu has slightly changed with new additions...I would be interested in returning to try a new item, but I sure wish they can get the jampong broth done right....still on the hunt! If you are craving for a quick bite of black noodles and sweet and sour pork...give this place a try!

This place gets really crowded but outdoor seating is available. I was disappointed with the jajangmyeon because the sauce was a little burned. I loved the wings but the picture of the fries was a lot bigger than what was served. It here's a promo right now if your order signs you get free fried potstickers. They were ok. The stir-fried jjampong was spicy but yum too. Restaurant is clean and can get loud. It's small and friendly.

After binge-watching on some k-dramas lately, I've been craving on some jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk. So I head down on Buena Park and go to Paik's Noodle and it truly doesn't disappoint! The jajangmyeon is legit here! The noodle is fresh, not sticky and the sauce is so good. It seems so simple but flavorful. And the tangsuyuk.. Oh my! So crunchy! I'm so glad they put the sauce separate and I love to just dip each piece to the sauce so each bite is crispy but you still get the flavors of the sauce at the same time. This is a self-service type of restaurant so you place your order and pay first. There are tables and seats outside too which are wonderful especially when the weather is nice. There are other restaurants and places nearby so it's a great place to hang out with friends and family.

I've been craving black bean noodles and tangsuyuk and knew I had to get it from Paik's after watching him on Culinary Class Wars. My friends and I got the black bean noodles with the minced pork. The pork was such a good addition! It was super juicy and added a great flavor to the dish! The tangsuyuk was equally as delicious! I'm glad they don't skimp out on the food. Both dishes were around $30 total!

Met lunch buddies looking for a hot meal. 11:30am on a Friday afternoon. Couple other diners enjoyed bowls of soup & noodles. We joined them. Menu is limited to various noodle dishes, chicken wings, fried pork, shrimp. More fast-food, than gourmet. Everything we ordered was delicious. Generous portions. Quick service. Fair price. Helpful, courteous customer service. Hot or cold water complimentary. Clean dining area inside restaurant with additional tables under covered patio outside. High-volume traffic. By the time we received our meals all tables inside were taken. When we finished eating people were waiting for tables so we promptly left stomachs full & satisfied.

Who else is here after binging the Netflix instant classic series from Korea -- "Culinary Class Wars" with Judge Paik? These jjajangmyeon options are out of this world, while nailing the balance between savory and sweet. Get ready for heavy, al dente noodles that are cooked to perfection. Hours are limited so this spot is perfect for an early dinner once you're done with your shift. Expect to fork over more than $10 for a plate for a person; worth every penny. Quiet shop with effective host and chefs.

The place is nice for eating outside, like a food court. As for the jjambbong, honestly, it was disappointing--there were only three mussels, one of which was actually edible, and it felt like I was just eating the noodles. I don't think I'll be having jjambbong here again.

    Jjajang mien and Seafood noodle.
    Malinee S.

Went to Hmart in HB and ordered the seafood noodles. Honestly, they were just okay--kinda disappointed 'cause the flavor was pretty bland. Tasted like instant noodle seasoning. Hardly any meat. Good portion thou. My friend got the Jjajang mien and thought it needed more salt. I tried hers, and I totally agreed; it was definitely missing that umami kick. It was a bit too sweet for my taste. Overall, it wasn't terrible, though.

The kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), and gat kimchi are absolutely delicious. I heard that the owner makes everything in-house, and you can really tell how much care and skill go into the food. The staff are also incredibly kind and welcoming every time I visit. Galbitang (Beef Short Rib Soup) - This is honestly the best galbitang I've had in both OC and LA. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the beef is always fresh and tender. Whenever I'm craving galbitang in the OC/LA area, this is the only place I go. Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Soup) - The amount of ingredients they give you is amazing. I've had it both dining in and as takeout, and it's consistently delicious every single time. It's perfectly seasoned, and has just the right level of spice. As much as I love the galbitang, I think I actually enjoy the yukgaejang even more. Pork Cutlet (Donkatsu) - This place is known for its galbitang and seolleongtang, so I wasn't expecting much from the donkatsu... but why is it this good? The cabbage salad dressing that comes on the side is seriously addictive. The portion size is huge, there's no way I could finish it by myself. It has the crispy texture of Japanese katsu, while still having a great pork flavor of its own. I honestly think this could be considered one of their signature dishes. For my lunch I went with their cold noodles since it was a cold day. The people I came with had some pork spare ribs, which came with rice and bone knee soup. And a bibimbap. The leek pancake was the best thing there. The pork blood sausage was more of rice noodles rolled up with pork blood flavored. I can't imagine it being much portion. Eveything else was bland which we all agreed to. For my cold noodles I added plenty of vinegar and mustard but it was not it. Still lacked flavor. Also it only had half a boiled egg and two verythin slices of beef. The pork was over cooked, dry, and lacked flavor. The bibimbap was also bland even with their red sauce. We we were all disappointed. The pricing is affordable. The staff was nice and quick. They made sure to check up on us. Parking here is a tough even though it was a weekday. But since I moved out of LA, it's so inconvenient to get to. Enter Kyung Bok Kung -- what a find. I can get a fine dining korean bbq experience conveniently. I've been here a number of times, and this review reflects the few times I've been there. It's become the goto spot to take people from out of town who are visiting and want a Kbbq experience. Things I immediately noticed - lots of white and grey teslas in the parking lot during lunch - you know what that means? Golf Koreans. Yup. Go inside and you'll see incredibly well dressed older retired people with their buddies chatting up in private cubicles. Beautiful decor. It's like the background setting of a korean drama where there's a close-up of the guy and the girl - they're about to say something really serious to each other. The camera does a wide angle shot of them - and this is the restaurant it's shot in. Price points - this place isn't cheap, but they have incredibly good deals on a weekday lunch (cold noodles and meat set). Their dinner set course meals are priced around what you would expect from a quality steak house. This place is not as pricey as AB steak or Cote, but you're getting just as quality. Food - I've had the lunch set meals, the bbq grilled course, and ordered à la carte. One thing is for sure - they don't miss. I never had a 9 budda plate until I came here, but apparently it's like a thing that royals ate during the monarchy days. It was like a korean vegetarian taco. Very intricate (and slightly annoying) to put together but delicious - and a great test of your chopstick skills. Their braised beef (galbijjim) from their lunch set intersects savory, sweet, and tenderness in a way that only Korean grandmas do. I'm not a huge fan of Wagyu beef (just too rich and can never feel after eating it), but I have never felt that way coming out of here. Go here at night if you want to impress someone or celebrate something. Go here during lunch if you want a fantastic meal and want to see what the best korean food can taste like but don't want to break the bank.
