The staff began calling as many surgeons in the area as they could in order to find one in my network and get a benefits verification for me beforehand. This is without me even asking!! They could sense my hesitation and jumped on it. Meanwhile, the dentist massaged my jaw for a good 10 minutes. She called one of her colleagues who's an oral surgeon and got his opinion and i was able to avoid surgery all together thanks to his diagnosis and my dentist's thorough massage. I am so used to begging for care and having to navigate medical situations without assistance. But here, it felt like all hands on were deck to get me care & coverage, and I didn't have to ask for anything. I cannot recommend them enough. This is how healthcare should be.

Little story of my case, live in northern Virginia and found out Dr. Brown via my coworker, decided to give it a try and drove almost two hours to Richmond to have my my veneers done. After the first visit-initial consultation, I knew I am in a good hand who cares his patient. Dr. Brown not only gave me the options of veneers but also suggested using bonding(a much cheaper alternative). He also showed me the material and how my teeth will look like after getting all done. The office assistance Chelsea who is very friendly and most importantly very clear minded in her field of coordinating with patients need! I have to file with my insurance company and request several docs, Chelsea accommodated with my needs and arranged all in a timely manner! And the dental assistance Erica and Tracy(hope that is correct name)were both great and explained the procedure thoroughly to me during the whole process. I had to go back with days as the bite was painful even with drinking water. I am no dentist and can not self treat. I had to go back 2 second time with a week and the dentist waving his hands in the air simply said, he can't do anything!!! When I voice my frustration. He refused me any further treatment and said I could go see a different dentist. I followed a medical practitioner's advise to preventive care and am now left with pain and suffering, neither of which I had, had gone to his office for a free dental cleaning. I unfortunately had to move out-of-state, and he tried his best to help with my tooth problems before I had to move. He's knowledgeable, caring, and patient. He always tried to be conservative with the work he did on my teeth, focusing on the most important areas and didn't push expensive treatments on me that weren't 100% necessary. A lot of dentists I went to would 1.) look at my teeth and then decide on a plethora of things to do to them, without consulting me - and b) forget about the issues I had and/or not address them fully. Dr Davia always listened to my concerns and kept it simple, unless it was clear a more complex procedure was definitely needed. I wish I could give a bonus star for how painless the injections were (lots of dentists seem to rush this part and it causes a lot of pain and anxiety for me). I hadn't had the healthcare to go to the dentist since 2017 (this is the richest country in the world?!), and they took the time needed to take X-rays, clean my teeth, and assess my gum health after four years. Three cavities is never good news, but they walked me through the problem, how they planned on filling them, and how much it would cost. They also got me scheduled to take care of it 36 hours later. The actual procedure took a bit over an hour and was relatively painless albeit clearly uncomfortable given the work necessary. They used a numbing cream before injecting my jaw with localized anesthetics and set up Nailed It on the TV hanging above the chair I was in to distract me. All in all, it wasn't fun, but they made needed healthcare bearable and unintimidating. The check up was $62 with my insurance and the three fillings $193. The location is right along GRTC's route 14 bus, so it's fairly transit friendly too.

Setting up appointments was rather simple and the office was technology forward, clean, bright and new. The building was recently renovated and they have a large parking lot. However, it was obvious that behind their fancy facade lies the drive to pad their bottom line. My first check up here was pretty comprehensive with all the x-rays being taken and teeth properly scaled. This took approximately 45 minutes into the hour long appointment. The hygienist spent a good 10 minutes trying to explain for me why I should pay for the up charge for fluoride even though it already covered under my insurance plan. The hygienist and dentist spent the last 20 minutes of my appointment creating a sense of urgency telling me to prevent my teeth from cracking that I needed to buy from them a mouth guard, electric tooth brushes, teeth whitening, etc all of which I get for free from my dental sales rep neighbor. My second appointment consisted of a longer sales pitch than actual care. My second cleaning here with the same tech didn't even last all of 10 minutes, which is inadequate to receive a proper scaling done, she didn't even floss my teeth. I received another repeated lecture regarding why an up charge for the fluoride was highly recommended even though it was already covered by insurance. Followed by another 20 minutes berating me on why I did not want to proceed with making an mouth guard and signing up for their teeth whitening treatments. I've never had any issues with my teeth and I cannot imagine how this practice would try and extort me if I had actually had an issue with my teeth. This has left a bad taste in my mouth and I cannot recommend anyone come to this practice.
