So I was looking for an Italian place that wasn't a chain and saw this Resturant. The service was more of a you do it yourself, find your own table and grab your own settings from another table. The waitress was loud and talked about all sort of random things including how much they were making today to the other waitress.. Kind of making jokes, keeping up with the New Jersey theme that they had going.. The pasta was undercooked on two of our meals. The price for the meals were lower than average for Italian places but the portions weren't large (not too much, not too little). I had their pasta soup which was good. My wife didn't like her salad dressing which she thought had no flavor but was oily. She also thought the garlic bread wasn't good compared to olive gardens garlic bread. This place is a JOKE. Went there for dinner on March 10, 2018. It took us over 25 minutes to get waited on. Once we were seated, we never met our waitress at all. However, the dirty table next to us did, there were two gentlemen that just walked in and sat at the dirty table, they saw the waitress, she cleaned their table, took their drink orders, delivered their pitcher of beer and took there order, that was approx. 15 minutes. We still haven't seen our waitress however, the young man that seated us FINALLY came over and took our drink order, never brought the drinks over but he did take my Groupon when I told him I had one. So another 15 minutes go by, now I get up and go to the counter and ask for my Groupon back, Well 5 minutes later the RUDE waitress that was supposed to be our waitress threw the Groupon at me. I find out approx., 10 minutes later that it wasn't even our Groupon. THIS PLACE WASN'T EVEN BUSY!!!! Horrible service and they don't seem to care. They say that into each life some rain must fall and in this case, it was more of a steady downpour. On a recent Sunday (my birthday, by coincidence), a neighborly type invited constant companion and I to supper at one our favorites, Pagano's. We have been regulars at the Ridgewood Avenue location for many years, but had dined at Ormond Beach several times since it opened last year. In all, our experiences at both locations have been quite good. The food has always been more than ordinary Italian and served HOT at all times. The service we have experienced has been timely and attentive. Unfortunately, all of this good stuff was totally lacking this visit. The first indication of trouble came when my soft drink arrived in a styrofoam cup. Soups which followed were similarly presented. When questioned our server offered that the dishwasher arrived late to work which, I guess also explained why we had no utensils until we asked two times. Bread arrived overheated and hard as a rock followed by our entrees some 40 minutes later ! This was also attributed to a missing cook. Really reliable help !!! One of the shrimp dishes was cold in the middle, while the poor little shellfish were burned. Our complaints to the server resulted in continuous apologies while one to the manager produced a whopping $5.00 allowance on our check. Real classy. If we should ever dine at Pagano's again, it will certainly be at the old, reliable Ridgewood Avenue address. read more

I and my family have gone to Pagano's several times over the last twenty years or so. When I first moved to Ormond many years ago it was an honest pizza parlor with a nice staff that was a pleasure to visit. This used to be my go to pizza parlor now I cannot recommend this place to anyone, even people I don't like. Let me start with tonight's experience which mirrors the last three times I have tried to rediscover the nostalgia I once had for the place. I ordered to go. The woman who answered the phone insisted that you could only have two toppings on a stromboli. I'm reading the website and I can see that you can have as many toppings as you want, you just have to pay the extra. I get there, pick up the meal and get home. The pepperoni/sausage stromboli literally has 4 pepperoni pieces and approximately 1/2 teaspoon of frozen tasteless sausage. The stromboli resembled nothing so much as a thin burnt crepe. Lovely. The wife ordered chicken alfredo. Extremely gluey, obviously from a can. The chicken was rubbery and the bread that was part of the meal was a burnt half loaf. I need not even mention the salad, there was no passion put into its creation. Some random greens, two very thin slices of tomato and razor thin slice of cucumber with 4 or 5 pieces of dried unseasoned bread to pass for croutons. The house vinaigrette was 3/5 oil. This food is not worth going out for. I gave them one star because you have to in order to post. 1. Food Quality: Nothing fresh that I could tell. Everything had a strong look and taste of Sysco or some other distributor. What did have to be cooked in house appeared to be and tasted burnt. 2. Service: Not knowledgeable. Not particularly friendly. Training is lacking in this restaurant. 3. Perceived value: Having been a strong fan of pizza my entire life (being Italian helps) I found no value in this purchase and I felt cheated. I have tried this location 2x...I assure you there will not be a 3rd. The 1st time was minor thing, so I waited over a month and went again. This time I ordered a white pizza with spinach, actually discussed the spinach 2x with the waitress and ordered a side of ranch dressing. I have a medical reason for not ever eating or ordering tomato sauce or tomatos on anything I eat, so imagine my surprise and irritation when my pizza came with EXTRA TOMATOES, barely any spinach, & NO RANCH DRESSING ON THE SIDE. When I was asked how the pizza was after a few minutes by the waitress who clearly saw I wasn't eating it, I was truthful...which got me a rude look and a slight attitude. I don't recall the waitresses name, however she is hard to miss because she wears clown like amounts of blush streaked on her face. I will not be dining at this location ever again because I prefer establishments that hire pleasant not rude wait staff. Friendly staff , horrible horrible food And to make matters worse , they refused to refund my credit card for THEIR mistakes . I am beyond disappointed with the treatment my family recieved from this establishment. My family comes every year from.New Jersey and even brings small tokens from the garden state to the owner. Very recently my sons and father in.law were treated very unprofessionally by the staff ay the Ormond Beach location. Curse words and rude gestures used by staff to let my family know the staff was ready to close the restaurant at 9pm and wanted my family to hurry up and leave. Food quality was also sub par. When I brought this to the attention of management there was a third party applolegy thru Facebook messenger and absolutely no motion to rectify the situation by even offering a discount or free pizza. I love this place. Servers are always so nice and two different times we were there the cook actually came out to ask if we liked the food. Alfredo very good and shrimp Diablo had big shrimp and the right amount of spice. I walked in to check out their menu while waiting for my girlfriend. Then I stood at the window by the door. I was approached by a man who asked me, "Have you been helped yet?" I said, "Nooo." He then said, "Will you be dining in?" I siad I dont know... he then said, well you need to leave right now...I dont like your attitude." I said excuse me? He said, you heard me.".I want you out of my store." I am not sure what provoked him, but I wanted then name of the manager, and he said "I am the manager." I then asked for his superviosr, or the owner, he propped the door open and escorted me out. I waited for my girlfriend and she went inside. I then grabbed her and siad we are leaving this dump andyour boss is an a**. I am going to file a complaint. I want to know who the owner is, and the counter gal said he is the owner. Had a good meal, veal Parmigiana with spaghetti. My wife had eggplant rollatini w/pasta. Shared The Calamari appetizer. Food was authentic Italian and very tasty. I don't understand the negative reviews at all. The food was excellent and well-priced. I really liked it and will go back often. We had the garlic bread supreme, eggplant parmesan and lasagna.
