he 2 Pagano's Restaurants are my favorite Italian restaurants! I order delivery from the one on Nova and when I am going to work I go to the one on Ridgewood. The owner is a really nice guy and the employees are very nice and accommodating. They have a drive thru which is very helpful when it is raining out. The food reminds of the restaurants in New York. The menu is full of great choices and they are cooked to perfection. Some of my faves are eggplant parm, pizza and grilled chicken salad. The wines are good too. The bread tastes homemade. Visiting family in Ormond and we were brought here for dinner. 6 of us got seated right away. I quickly read reviews and thought, why not. I ordered the last order of wings, 10/serving, I asked how hot is the hot sauce and I chose to go mild tonight. They had almost a non-existent heat to them. But why do they put garlic pieces on them? Next would be the spicy chicken tenders and they did not disappoint. I'm guessing Frank's Red Hot as the sauce. Yummy. Next, the fried onion rings were crunchy and a big portion. Dinner was a toss up. The spaghetti and meatballs seemed like frozen meatballs. The Italian trio: lasagna, chicken parm and a manicotti was ok. The red sauce was nothing to write home about. My wife loved the cheese ravioli dish....but the worst plate was the chicken Alfredo. Covered in a heavy sauce and it was gritty...like eating Beach sand gritty. One bite and that was that. Just yucky. Her words,"worst meal I ever had.". (the waitress saw she didn't even touch it and did remove it from the bill.) She offered anything as a replacement but nah...I'll pass. Located away from the touristy spots in a strip plaza this place is a hidden gem. Party of four and all of us were more than pleased with the large portions, taste, pricing and outstanding customer service. Greek salads were awesome, spaghetti sauce was very meaty, Ziti was great and the Stromboli was HUGE. Complimentary Italian garlic bread too. We couldn't eat it all and all took food home. Not crowded, great background music and a New Jersey feel. At least four employees came by more than once to check on the food. I will definitely be back. read more

If I could give 3 and a half stars I would. This was my first visit here. The service was great. My drink was never empty and the order was done just as we requested. My aunt who lives here raved about this place so we had to try it. The pizza crust was a good hand tossed dough with just the right amount of crispiness to it. The sauce was just right it wasn't too sweet or salty. The toppings could have been a little bit more generous but they were good. The place was about half full tonight. Like any recently opened restaurant it has its hiccup. This location has only been open for about two months but I think it is working very well for a fledgling restaurant. The garlic bread was good but nothing special but the garlic knots was excellent. We loved the pizza! It was perfectly baked with a thin, crispy crust and lots of slightly browned cheese on top. The sauce and pepperoni were delicious. Pagano's claims to be "New Jersey Style". I've never been to Jersey, but if pizza there is this good, I should visit soon. While waiting for our pie to bake, we split a caesar salad which was huge. The dressing, croutons and thinly sliced parmesan were all really good but the romaine lettuce could have been better. Far too many wilty dark green leaves and very few crispy ones. First thing I noticed when walking in the front door is everyone is very welcoming and friendly. The girl who took my order even double checked to make sure I got everything correct before I left. As for the pizza, I was a little taken back by the size of it. A large pie was not as large as most pizzerias sell. However there was a lot of flavor which I very much enjoyed. I had to visit Paganos in Ormond Beach while visiting my mom. I have always loved the food there and the service was always really good but tonight was exceptional. Our waitress Chrissy was so attentive and refreshing. She said and did all the right things and made our meal such a joy. This pizza USED to be the best in town. NOW it's far from it, the worst I've had. The thin crust style pizza I've enjoyed for years is replaced with a thick crust that is huge and stiff. The service was good, the food was delicious, and the overall enjoyment of the meal was satisfactory. From the beginning of my meal, the bread tasted fresh and hand-made--I nearly ate the whole loaf! My dish had also come with a bowl of soup, I can't recall the name, nor spell it out, but it was similar to Minestrone (but has meat). It was good, though I prefer less meat, not too say there was too much--it's just a personal preference. For my main dish, I had gotten the Chicken Pizzaoli and I do not regret it. The chicken was amazing in comparison to other restaurants who can't make grilled chicken for the life of them, and the pasta also tasted pretty good. The "New Jersey" plum sauce had a nice consistency and taste to it, however, the peppers seemed a bit overdone. The dish was really good, anyway. I had also gotten a dish to share with one other person--a pie. No, not an actual pie, but the extra large pizza. It was warm and fresh and I'd recommend it to pizza-lovers. Even I, who doesn't like pizza very much, enjoyed the taste. However, it is more targeted at people who like thin crust and therefore, unless you specifically order a specialty pizza, there won't be much sauce in comparison to a delivery pizza. Then again, we did order a rather boring pizza (we have very different tastes, so I had to go the bland route to accommodate for that). I ordered thin crust personal pizza's, garlic knots, buffalo wings and teriyaki wings. Oh and yes a large Greek salad.
