so amazing, private sushi catering at its finest…read more we walked into a milestone birthday that already felt special, and somehow the evening only elevated from there. the sushi team, three staff members, were busy setting up, calm and precise, moving behind the long table in quiet choreography. you could hear the soft torching, see the careful slicing, the deliberate plating. nothing rushed. nothing chaotic. just focused craftsmanship. the presentation was stunning. clean lines. layered wooden platters. vibrant colour everywhere, blush pink salmon, deep ruby tuna, translucent ika, golden tempura. the table was lush but never crowded, styled with greenery and height that made everything feel curated rather than stacked. it looked like a private omakase counter had appeared in the middle of a celebration. what stood out immediately was the restraint with the rice. every piece felt balanced and thoughtful, more fish, more texture, more flavour. you were not filling up on rice, you were tasting the ingredients. vegetable tapas started things off, bright, delicate, and beautifully composed. then came shrimp tempura, perfectly crisp and light, not greasy in the slightest, just that ideal golden crunch that shatters softly before giving way to sweetness. the truffle tuna on chip was a little bite with big presence, rich, aromatic, indulgent without being heavy. then came the signatures, where it truly became an experience. salmon carpaccio, silky and luminous, almost glowing on the little spoon. the assorted sushi featured ika shiso, botan ebi, and yellowtail, each piece clean, fresh, and expertly cut. the sashimi selection included salmon, yellowtail, tuna, and hokkigai, sliced beautifully, each bite melting on the palate. the assorted aburi of engawa and unagi were lightly torched, smoky and buttery with just enough warmth to release their aroma. torch salmon pressed and torch scallop pressed offered that perfect contrast of warm against cool rice. local uni sushi was creamy and ocean sweet, pure and briny in the best way. the wagyu beef uni sushi was my favourite, rich, indulgent, almost decadent, that buttery beef and velvety uni combination was unforgettable. the signature rolls brought playful balance. yellowtail mango was bright and refreshing. cajun albacore carried a little heat and a little edge. tobiko roll delivered a subtle pop and texture in every bite. elevated and beautifully executed. a dining experience that did not just feed guests, but truly impressed them. absolutely unforgettable.

His meals were healthy, with gluten-free, and vegetarian options, but more so, they were absolutely delicious! Shahni created numerous meals for us during the week of our daughter's wedding. At the end of it, all of our guests were satisfied. They felt like they had been treated to tasty, unusual, and fancy dishes, while still commending the chef for creating such healthy meals. Shahni listened to our needs and treated us to a variety of fresh and unusual dishes. Some of our favourites included gluten-free pasta with a delicious, creamy sauce, the endive and orange salad, the cornbread, and the faro salad. The roast chicken and the roast pork, were tender and tasty. The deconstructed pavlova was my favourite dessert - oh no wait! It was the apple strudel - or was it the panna cotta?! Shahni and his team cooked, served, and cleaned up afterwards. They were cheerful, hardworking, and really fun to have around. Can't wait to have him cook for us again.

A pre fixe menu of exclusively local ingredients is served by an attentive staff in a small, dare I…read moresay tiny, restaurant in this gentrified East Vancouver neighborhood. There are risks with preparing hyper-local and while many of our small plates were delicious (and beautiful), there were a couple near-misses. A highlight was the kohlrabi salad, grated and served much as a Thai green papaya. The light, crunchy root vegetable was delicious in this presentation. The Eggplant Parmigiana was also so, so, good, served in an incredibly rich tomato sauce. However, the raw tomatoes we had in another dish were not quite ripened, and the peaches served for dessert lacked flavor (especially for this South Carolinian who's used to eating some of the world's finest of this fruit). The staff truly went out of their way to make our evening a positive experience. There was a mix-up with our reservation, still not sure what transpired but the chef managed to get us a table, this from a restaurant with a total of only 18 seats. We were even comped our first drinks as a result. Service of the many small plates was expertly timed and our wine glasses were never empty. This is indeed a tiny restaurant, I found our table to be cramped and the high chairs less than comfortable. All in all, though, it's quite remarkable that the chefs create such dishes in this space. Even watching the server essentially dancing around our arms and legs to deliver plates was a sight. There are only two daily seatings, at 5:30 and 8. Needless to say, reservations are a must (especially now that Nero Tondo has become Michelin-recommended)

Menu changes frequently as they are hyper local. It was a great surprise going from course to course not knowing what to expect. Great spot for those who are adventurous with food, but not for the picky. The chefs and sommelier are really nice and so very personable. There are only two seatings per evening, 5:30 and 8. It's a tiny place so reservations are essential. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

I sent these guys an e-mail to get a quote on March 16th and a week later received a very detailed and tailored quote following a conversation on the phone with Ashley. I've been in constant contact with Ashley throughout this whole quote process. Sadly this isn't my money to play with. I have been delegated a budget on behalf of the event coordinator, therefore, it's their dollars and specifications I have to take into considering. Ashley was awesome in taking care of this for me. I've done lots of wedding catering events and organizations and often it is hard to make clients understand the budget and staffing logistics, however, Ashley was really patient with me on behalf of the client. We stayed in contact and up to date every step of the way through the whole process. My big thing has always been communication and I found this company to be very professional in this manner. Ultimately we did not go with them as it was decided among the committee that this event would eat at 90% of our budget and we had menu specifics. This is based on their professionalism and of course communication. Thanks Ashley for everything.
