I dont even know where to start....we booked a rental for a little over 2 months in palm springs area. We paid for the rental IN FULL approximately a month ago. The night before we check-in my wife gets an EMAIL stating that the own of the property is uncomfortable with the rental amount and they CANCELED our reservation. Once again, we paid for the whole 9 weeks upfront appx 4 weeks ago.... I immediately called the office and couldn't get ahold of anyone ( which has been the norm for the last month sense booking the house). I then called the 24 emergency number and the woman that answered DOESNT EVEN WORK FOR THE COMPANY ANYMORE. She told me that she hasn't worked there for a couple of months..... We had given notice to our apartment and due to covid we can't risk staying with family due to the health issues that I have. So thank you padzu because as of Monday morning my wife, 2 young daughters, and I will be homeless. I cannot stress enough NEVER NEVER NEVER book with this company. To cancel the day before you are supposed to check in and not even call is BEYOND crazy! If you enjoy last minute cancelations or when something goes wrong not being able to get ahold of someone to assist you, then this is your place. read more

We were coming into Phoenix from Denver for a wedding this weekend 3.26.2020- which is cancelled due to Corona-virus. Padzu is charging us $1500 for cancelling our reservation. Air BNB-and the rest of the vacation companies understand that in this critical time people cannot travel! Denver is on shelter in place order. We had a trip scheduled but because of COVID-19, everything is now closed and everyone is being required to stay home so we tried canceling our trip weeks in advanced and they decided not to give us our full refund back. The government has issued a travel warning, we are not supposed to travel. Because our house was full of toxic black mold and I had to get my 3 kids out of there. I booked a reservation with this company for a month 1800.00 and they cancelled my reservation hours later and told me I have to wait 5 days for my funds. When you book a reservation they don't email or communicate anything about check-in process, you call their number and main office nobody answer leave messages and emails takes hours for a response. They are very unprofessional and inconsiderate. Thanks to them I'm homeless with my kids because they held my last money for 5 days and cancelled my reservation. My first and last time using them. We rented a Villa at Desert Princess for 2022. We put down the requested down payment and received a notification from PADZU and a booking contract. One week later l got a call from the owner of the Villa stating the Villa was sold last year? I'm now disputing the charges with my credit card company. Proceed with caution!!! read more

As other travels have explained, the company's behavior during this unique situation represents the bottom 5% of VRBO's rental properties. Data backed, per VRBO 95% of their properties listed were flexible on cancelation policies and scheduling. This place, was not. Additionally, we all know that bad times can create the best customer experience opportunities... instead, we found the opposite here. My family rented a home through Padzu Vacation Home for the week of March 20, 2020. We cancelled 10 days prior to our checkin date because of the Pandemic. We were also under mandatory quarantine in Illinois and California which made travel impossible during that time. We explained this to Kenny who represented Ponzu whose reply was that he was still taking a family vacation!! We also explained that our travel consisted of a 93 year old women and myself who is a lung cancer survivor. I want this company to be known as dishonest and morally unethical. They are thieves who also stole our cleaning fees and deposit. I was willing to accept a credit for another time, being that we rent in Scottsdale frequently. I was ignored. We cancelled our Park City vacation b/c it's clear social distancing is the right thing to do due to COVID-19. I told Padzu that I know I am responsible for the entire cost, but would appreciate any concession. I would have been happy with even a smallish gesture saying, "OK, we'll share a little of the pain with you. After all, we all have to do our part for humanity" Ha! After extensive negotiations, here's what they did: 1. KEPT 100% of the rental fee ($2,000+). 2. CHARGED me TAX on the rental fee (yes, they made me pay tax on money they made on a rental I didn't use) 3. Refunded me the damage waiver ($99, we didn't even enter the unit) 4. Refunded me the processing fee ($76) 5. Offered a 50% discount on a last minute rental (wait... see what they are doing here... Padzu keeps 100% of the rental fee and creates an opportunity to unload some unused inventory). 6. Refunded the cleaning fee (wait... see what they are doing here... Padzu doesn't lose anything, but the poor cleaning people don't get paid). The travel industry will suffer greatly due to COVID-19. My heart goes out people like the house cleaners Padzu threw under the bus. However, if Padzu goes out of business, the world will be a better place. read more

Stayed in one of Padzu's rentals in Park City over Memorial Day weekend. Communication was great from the beginning, and they were extremely attentive with every detail. The staff member we dealt with was very friendly, and came over within minutes of us reaching out about a question on the property. Last spring we had to fight to get a refund for a reservation made through vrbo that PADZU cancelled themselves involving our bank Dispute Resolution centre and VRBO risk and security dept. PADZU reactivated the reservation 10 months later and charged a credit card number they shouldn't even of had so we are having to fight AGAIN. We asked about flexibility in cancelling due to coronavirus. They said they were not. Then the county shutdown all the amenities as the resort which is what i booked, not a room without a restaurant, bar, spa, or fitness center. My vacation home rental was supposed to be March 25th to March 29th. We paid 3,200 dollars to enjoy Park City, Utah. I am sitting in my apartment in Chicago wishing I could be enjoying this house. For Padzu and homeowners to not take into account, this world epidemic is shameless, horrible and shows this company does not show a backbone. In Park City, Utah they are in a shelter in place, restaurants are closed, skiing is over, but at no point is there an understanding of the situation we are facing. We cannot travel, we cannot pass this virus on to other people. How can someone take 3,200 dollars for not providing a service, When I called them, there answer is well it's against the contract. We asked for them to adjust the dates, so they can keep the money, but nope, they just want to take the money and run. At this moment in history, we need to take a stand, do not use this company, do not rent or decide to waste your time with a company that does not support human decency, people getting sick, and a world that needs companies that understand how to treat people. We asked for a change of date, nope, so that tells me this is company is not for the people but instead getting money in there pockets. We were planning a 3 day vacation in Arizona for March when this Coronavirus pendemic took hold across the globe. Needless to say, most people weren't traveling and my state (Illinois) was on mandatory lockdown. I contact Padzu multiple times about either a credit for a later date or a refund and every time they said "no, per the rental agreement you signed". Every other company in the world is making accommodations for people affected by this terrible pandemic except for Padzu. Beware of this company. We never received our refund for FULL payment on a reservation we made. Due to their lack of response, I put a dispute with AMEX. Once I did that, they finally responded and assured me we would get the refund as soon as we removed the dispute. Made a reservation on Homeaway and said that it was confirmed. However I noticed I wasn't charged the total amount and called homeaway. They told me to call Padzu so I did. The guy told me that it wasn't reserved for them since "the payment didn't go through on their end." However they failed to update this on homeaway and I HAD THE MONEY READY TO PAY. When I tried booking it then and there on their website someone had already reserved an hour or two after they cancelled mine but when on homeaway it still said I was booked. I agree with a previous comment that I wish I could give a negative rating. We booked a condo in Scottsdale for an April arrival and determined we should cancel in mid March because we are considered high risk and concerned about travel. We contacted this company and were told they might refund the cleaning charge, but would not reschedule or refund our $2300.00+ that had been paid. Our state and Arizona is under a stay at home order and this company does not care about the fact no one saw this coming and everyone is hurting emotionally and financially as a result of this virus. All I can say is SHAME ON YOU for taking advantage of this desperate situation. I am going to let everyone know how this company treats its patrons and encourage VRBO to remove them from their list of companies. These are not normal times and we need to be flexible with the cancelation poilicies as we're supposed to all be in this together.
