We met here for Ladies Connection Book Club and had such a great experience. The service was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating for our group. We never felt rushed, and everything flowed smoothly. The food was delicious across the board. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you're catching up with friends over a meal. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, making it an easy place to relax and enjoy good conversation. We've been here twice. The staff is very nice. Anytime we've gone in, they're good to us. My only bad customer service experience was my boyfriend trying to come in to use the bathroom and being told he had to pay because they were doing some kind of event. He just wanted to be chaperoned. Aside from that, good. Drinks are alright. My boyfriend is a wimp when it comes to alcohol, and maybe it's because of that, but their Long Island Iced Tea had a bite to it. If you're not sitting at the bar, you have to go up to it to order. There were a lot of people who didn't know that sitting around for a server looking to leave. The only thing that makes it awkward is that when it comes to drinks, it feels like you have to stay and wait for them to come back with the drink. With food, they'll bring it out to you. My main issue is that we came in on a Friday. I don't know if this is an every week thing, but for this week, it was a Fish Fry Friday. We were told that we couldn't order off the regular menu until 7:00, and it was 4:00 when we got there. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt - on one hand, it's a special and they want to sell them, on the other, I don't want to sit around for three hours waiting to eat something. It wasn't a huge issue, we got our drinks and went to Tacos el Paisa. It kind of sucks to sit around for so long not being able to eat. Food's decent, but not overwhelmingly amazing. It can get pretty loud in here, avoid Live Music Nights like the plague. read more

Food was good, and service was good! They don't technically have table service, as you are supposed to order from the bar. But the bar keep asked after us several times as she was doing other things (changing TV stations, delivering food, etc). So above and beyond the "order at bar". Good beer selection as well. Food was good, but avoid the wings. They were on special when we were there, and not worth it - even if they were free. Ruben was good though. Atmosphere is fun. They have pool tables, darts, etc. Lots of talking/laughing/etc, but not so loud as to have to shout, or really even raise your voice to have conversation at the table. This place is horrible. They charge you $50 no matter what when you pay with card. The waiters tip whatever they want then you get 'money back in the morning'. My initial impression was not good because the bartender didn't know what beers they had other than reading the tap handles, so I just ordered a PBR. I'm guessing he was new. Afterwards a more experienced bartender took over and everything was fine after that. I had some excellent conversations with the patrons and some staff and then went home. I've been back several more times and I have been meeting more people and everyone seems to be very friendly. The food is good and you get a lot of it. I have met one of the owners and had a great conversation with him. On the whole I am pleased that I have a watering hole as close as this is to my house and I see that I will be something of a regular there. read more

When I confronted him he gave me another drink, I left the bar again and stood at a table behind and he took my full drink! Asked him why, and he asked me why I didn't take it with me!! Totally messed up!!! He knew I was there yet still took my drink!! When I got mad and didn't use sweet language he refused to serve me again!!! I was a bartender for 20+ years. I know the boundaries!! I did not cross a line! Background: my daughter worked there and would not give him the time of day! So he's going to hold me responsible!! I had some had best beer cheese and pretezl's I've had in Kentucky. Great beer selection, beercheese burger is awesome. However the service is hit or miss, seems like to have to be known to the staff to get good service. We saw several people get up and leave because they never got service. It is obvious unless you're friends with the bartenders don't expect service. They have 15 people working there and none of them bother to ask you if you would want to order a drive. We first sat down and didn't get service so figured you had to order at bar. Went to bar two separate times only to be completely ignored. First bartender looked at me and went right back to talking about her night with some guy. Went to other side and Male bartender looked at me, turned away and started watching football game. Bouncer or whatever he was at and continued to stare at me and wife yet nobody ever waited on us. I realize were not regulars but WOW, that's awful service. As a former bar owner myself, I was pretty shocked at the way we were treated. We will never return. Probably won't go back. I understand people are short-staffed right now, but even a slight acknowledgement would have made a difference. Been to many an Irish Pub, this is not an Irish Pub. I'd describe this as more of a college sports bar with Irish decor. Ordering at the bar is typical in Ireland and Europe however the frozen fish sticks and burnt oil is far from anything authentic. So are the packet sauces, plastic bowls, and half dressed college female bartenders more interested in their cell phones and social gossip. The Rubin and Tots as good as they look. TOTS ARE EVIL! But oh so good. If they only had at least one good rum! At least Bacardi Anjou or my favorite Diplomatico, a Venezuelan rum. But this is Kentucky. A whiskey state if there is one. And no Coca Cola. Cheap rum and Pepsi...Paaalleeessse! No Coke in site! I'm ok, I'll get over it. A chill drinking spot in downtown Richmond, the Paddy Wagon is a great neighborhood bar. Street parking out front is a bit scarce, though it seems to park anywhere on the block and walk up. The Wagon features at least twenty beers on tap with a few reserved for local brews. There is more than ample seating, both at the full wraparound bar and low and high tops scattered outside of them. I bought a round of three pints for $18, tip included. The bar also features a number of spirits, whiskey being the predominant one. We saw a local musician in the middle of a tune-up and signs indicate local talent playing several nights a week. We also saw pool, a golf game, and on-screen gambling for entertainment. The bathrooms could use a fewer Trump 2016 graffiti markings. Thankfully, someone knew to scratch through them and the nod to Wu Tang Clan is always appreciated. read more

I wish i could leave a 0 star. The bar itself seemed fine. Plenty of space, pool tables, and a large patio. The bartenders were extremely rude. Every female there acted as if making a drink was a hassle for them. They seemed very understaffed, so i gave them the benefit of the doubt but there was no reason for them to be as rude as they were. I moved here 5 weeks ago, I haven't had a moment to enjoy a night out, dine in, have a beer. I love Irish pubs, thought I'd give it a try. I walk in to be carded by a door man with a personality of a door stop. I then sit down at the corner of a bar. There were 4 bartenders, 3 guys one female. Everyone of the male bartenders walked past me, none of them acknowledged me as if i was invisible. Surprisingly enough i wasn't. I was there roughly 8 minutes the last minute I was there I started recording myself getting ignored. Bringing attention to myself the female bartender finally came my was and asked what I wanted. I asked her how many bartenders are going to walk pass me before I can get a beer. She then acknowledged that she saw that and very genuinely asked what can I get for you. The male bartenders finished up taking care of other patrons passed me up and took care of someone else 3 times. The female was talking to the same patron until she finally noticed me. I'm a 35 year old average man trying to get a beer in a college town and that is exactly how I felt as I was walking out. I just explained to the bartender that I was in a good mood trying to get a good beer, I'll take my money somewhere that's receptive to that. College bar, self absorbed bartenders. read more

Best bar to go to in Richmond. Friendly atmosphere, huge selection of booze, and their food is even good. Ask for a grilled cheese and you will receive the cheesiest, perfectly grilled sandwich you've ever put in your mouth. If you're into the whole crowded, vomit on the floor, array of student life scene then go on the weekends - duh. If not, go during the week; say mid-afternoon for some peace with your suds, or talk to some friendly elder locals, ya know. There are plenty of seats around the 360 bar. Lots of seating around the walls - small tables, large tables for groups, tall tables, there's even a patio in the rear. And there are two pool tables, and some TVs for those of you who can't fathom going two hours without watching some basketball. read more

So here it is... The bar itself looks nice, modern old wood and open. 2 pool tables, tv's and a generous amount of customers to mingle with. The menu is very limited however and no Bangers & Mash (the search continues). There was a lot of beer choices for you IPA, lager, ale and blah blah fans. The service is pleasant enough if you ever get lucky enough to get their attention. Honestly, I didn't even order any food, took so long to get a menu that I didn't want to risk how long it would take to get my food. As always my phone was almost dead, no outlets to be found save for the one in a lonely corner. (Not my style) Eventually they finally let me pay for my drinks and I went across the street to Madison Garden for my meal and a few more drinks. Paddy's is the best bar in this college town! Cheap beers and cheap mixed drink/shot specials during the week. They have pool tables and few games in the back. The outdoor patio is great during summer months! Sometimes the music is too loud & the bartenders don't know what's on tap. It would be so easy for them to hang a beer list on the bar so that customers could see what they have.. it is typically too dark and loud to ask or see what beers are on tap. Very non police friendly we were having a good time and when the bar made a mistake and sent over two pitchers the manager who said that his name was Silas Smith threw out one of our group because he told him not to be an ass hole. So I attempted to go and talk to said manager and he told me that my buddy was being a fucking ass hole so I told him that he just did the same thing that he accused my friend of doing and that was bull shit then he threw me out. Good place to get a beer or shot and eat a bite but most of the (male) bartenders are dicks. They treat women like shittttttt and get fucked up on the job. I mean, I'm fine with my bartender having a shot with me or something but these dudes take it to another level and get sloppy by the end of their shift. You can't trust them!!! This is a good local place to hang out with friends. I have visited this place twice and on both occasions they have live music; it was very good. The bartenders provided an outstanding service. The pub is wonderful! However, every female bartender was extremely rude, acted like they were miserable to be there and were definitely lacking in bartending experience. One of them even pushed a 20% tip back to me as if it wasn't good enough for her. I tried asking her about an event at the pub called the crawl and she got annoyed and started rolling her eyes at me as if she didn't want to explain it to me. After trying 3 different bartenders I finally found a guy that could make a decent drink. Great place but the service definitely ruined my experience. I'd probably go back if they'd hire more pleasant bartenders that knew how to make drinks. read more

I have been going to Paddy's for 3 years and as of lately the entire place does not seem to care about anything. We have attempted to order food the last couple of times and it always takes close to an hour to deliver it and it never fails that something comes out cold. They did what they needed to do which was get us fresh food out ASAP and scratch 20%. But if you want to survive that is not always the solution, plus do not forget this was all almost 2 hours later...I do not foresee myself ever being back. read more

What can I say? 50+ beers on tap, at least 6 Big Screen TVs, friendly bartenders, and the standard pub food fare. If you want to get away from the chains, this is a good place to have a beer. Clean, new local bar/restaurant in a completely rebuilt building in downtown Richmond. (Their previous building burned down.) Small food menu, but then it is a bar. Good, friendly service, with one or both owners often hanging around. Large outdoor deck. Frequent live (local) music at night. (If only they could mix an Old Fashioned. 8 months ago i went to Paddy's for a beer and food and was very disappointed. This time I knew better but hoped things changed. Same bad table service, if you wave like a mad man they may decide to come over, but don't expect them to check to see how the food is or to get a drink refill. and the food was again - Burger was DRY (If you press a burger on the grill it pushes out all the moisture/juices ) - Shepherd pie - was a frozen pot pie. but yet again the beer choices are there. read more
