Service was poor. Waitresses waited on tips but did not engage with customers. Very busy trying to close out 2 hours before closing. Cigars with pretty good selection but too dry. I bought over $200 worth of cigars. Attempted 2 but very dry - I had 50 cigars in the car that I should've smoked. Will rehumidify and hopefully save the rest of the purchase. Bourbon selection was good but staff were bourbon dumb. Cigar dumb. Overall just dumb. I was excited to come visit the famous Jake's but very disappointed. read more

The ambiance is perfect for this type of establishment. They have great ventilation in there and a nice patio as well. The service is spot on and they make an excellent/ consistent old fashion. I tell ya what, every visit I make to Lexington Kentucky, you better believe I'll be coming by here. AWESOME place to go and enjoy your favorite cigar(s). The decor is fitting for cigar smokers, that means leather furniture, no carpet, but solid floors, comfortable seating and a full bar to compliment and cigar smoking sitting. Lets start with the bar. Jakes has a full bar, bourbons, whiskeys, gin, vodka and anything you may love to drink with a good cigar. They also have a nice beer and lager selection if this is your choice. The bar staff is fully knowledgeable. I ask for the best thing to drink and they suggested Woodford Reserve Double Oak which just so happens to be one of my favorite go-to drinks with a cigar! Seatings are indoor and when the weather is nice, you can step outside and enjoy your smoke. Everything is evenly spaced and plenty of seating for you and friends. The seating is 5 star comfort creating a very relaxing atmosphere! I tell ya, I didn't wanna leave. The humidor is full of a wide selection of some of the best cigars to smoke, not to mention they have their own house brand. However, I suggest taking the house cigars home to place in your humidor for a couple of weeks. I'm not sure if they serve food, but as nice as this place is I wouldn't be surprised if they have a nice selection. The place all kinds of cigar social events so follow them on social media for the next one I was thoroughly impressed! It was a luxurious setting with a reasonable price. You can't beat that. My daughter purchased me a gift card here. I had never been here. I was overwhelmed once you walked in door. The bar is massive collection of Bourbons & all kinds of well drinks. They have a Humidor & one of the bigger collections of Cigars in Lexington. You can smoke here. They also have a nice covered area to set outside. They also have a few draft beers. The drinks was very well made. They even smoke the old fashions. The bourbon selection is out standing. The ambiance is a very nice old school feeling. Think a classy man's club from a movie. Leather bar stools. As well leather relaxing chairs and plush sections to talk and take a load off. Oh and yes it's very handicapped accessible. Bathroom are very clean and accommodating. They have plenty of spots for wheelchairs and for ppl on canes. As well space to get though for standard wheelchair and cane. If needed they are happy to move things for you to get by. Prices very depends on what you want. The service was so great. I showed the bar tender a drink he had not seen on his phone. Mondl my bartender ran with it and made something close, but even better than the original. Peeling apart an ice cream bar to get vanilla ice cream to make it. To make a bourbon float. I really loved this place. The humidor was filled with a wide selection as well. I can't say much on it seeing I quit smoking last year but looked very well stocked. After having had a few beers and cocktails it was time for even more drinks and cigars because that's usually what happens. My buddy suggested Jake's because, well it was basically one of only two places he knew of for cigars. He must have gone before they had moved because the new building is in a huge new strip mall area. I don't know what old Jake's looked like but new one is pretty nice. Large well appointed outdoor seating and a sleek bar inside with a bunch of whiskeys and bourbons (it's Kentucky, what else would it be?.) I was surprised with the walk-in humidor, it was huge but I thought the ratio was a little off given how much seating both indoor and outdoor there was. I guess when I went they were still filling it out, it was like 85% stocked. I wasn't in a cocktail mood, so I had a beer and after having gotten our cigars lit we went outside, it can be pretty loud on the inside so if you want to talk at a decent volume it might be better to take it outside. read more

This is their new location and it is awesome. Their bourbon selection is extensive and a few really good store picks. The humidor is stocked with a lot of tasty cigars, prices are high though! Jake's is an great bar with wide selection of bourbon, whisky, and beer. The humidor has a great selection of cigars. From the well known to something different. You know I went for the something different. The bartender made a great suggestion of bourbon. I found a nice little corner where I enjoyed my bourbon and cigar. At the end of the visit I was relaxed and happy. I forgot to mention how friendly the staff was upon entering. They give Chick-fil-A a run for their money. Everyone spoke but wasn't annoying. For someone who enjoys a good drink, and appreciates an even better cocktail crafter, Jake's is a go to place. I myself do not partake in the smoking of cigars, but I have tried several of the cocktails and special pours from various seasons at Jake's. My most recent visit was from the Sadie Hawkins event, and my "3 chord cookie cart" cocktail was fantastic. It blended well with the bourbon and was lemony and easy to drink. They happened to have some live music playing, but as always it was a good crowd for a Friday and a great laid back environment. read more

Located in the Brannon Crossing area, it's close to the Jessamine County line, and convenient for Lexingtonians. It's unlike any place that you'll find in Lexington, so I highly recommend taking the short ride to Nicholasville. I strongly say ride, like as in an Uber or Lyft. Why? Because it's more than just a cigar bar. They have full bar, with an amazing beer, cocktail, and bourbon selection. Many of the reviews are from their original location. The new location opened in April 2019. The building is a free standing location, very open and contemporary. Yes, it does smell like cigars, but it's not overpowering. The cigar selection is plentiful. The humidor is huge, definitely the largest I've ever seen. You can purchase a single cigar, or multiple, or you can bring your own to smoke. The bourbon is organized by 'families' or brands. So the top self isn't necessarily the most expensive, and the bottom shelf isn't just your ordinary 'bottom of the barrel'. The cocktail list is seasonal, and includes Kentucky spirits. I ordered the "Perfectly Pear'd", which is a Moscow mule made with Wheatley's Vodka, house made roasted pear, sage, citrus reduction, and Ale 8. I loved it. I was impressed by the low $9.50 price of each of the cocktails. I heard mention that the winter cocktail menu wasn't released, so maybe the price will increase with the next menu release. read more
