Prices were reasonable and the timeline for turnaround was quick. The father and daughter duo had my purse fixed and back to me good as new in no time! I stumbled across La Plaza Shoe Repair while my husband attended a 2-day conference across the street at Hotel ZOSO. "Dr. Mike Shoe" did an absolutely beautiful job on my purse. He matched the color perfectly. The purse may look black in the photo, but it is a dark steel blue up close. I love the color, and now my purse looks new again. The scratch marks are completely gone. He justified it by saying that the sandals were 'very expensive' and he would clean them up as well and make them look 'brand new'! When I went to pick them up, he couldn't find them and made me go into the back room to find them. When I did, I immediately noticed that they had not been cleaned and looked terrible! I asked him why he didn't clean and polish them as promised, and he angrily snapped at me and told me that I hadn't paid him enough to do that! When I reminded him how much he had charged me to both repair and clean/polish each pair, - which he promised to do - he did not apologize but told me to either wait an hour or come back 'next time' and he would do it. I had brought two more pairs to have him repair, but instead told him there would be NO 'next time', took the shoes and I walked out! It was clear that he not only based the amount he charged me by the cost of the shoes (not the job), but he conned me to justify the total cost by lying to me that he would clean& polish them to make them look ' brand new''. I recently brought in 7 pairs of shoes, including3 vintage. The owner went through them with me and told me what he could fix. He also told me which ones he couldn't- three pairs. He also made recommations as to where I could get a very specific leather shoe string for one of the vintage shoes. Dancers: he can suede your street shoes for dance as well!
