Although our dog behaviorist was nice, I don't feel the value of the meeting matched the expensive price. The recommendations made to us were the same as though we found by doing a bit of searching online. I felt for such an expensive price there would be more hands-on lessons we could apply. There was no walk around the block or even an attempt at observing our dog in the behaviors we wished to correct. It appears others had better experiences but again for the price this just wasn't worth it for us. read more

We have been training with Lindsey for three months. I called her crying when after three days with our rescue pup he was exhibiting signs of fear and aggression toward my spouse and strangers. We rescued our newest Boston Terrier Charlie about a year ago as a two year old. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Zoe's for dog training. My wife and I have a 6 month Great Dane puppy Kevin and took our first vacation since having him. Instead of putting him in a kennel, we had Gonzalo, one of Zoe's awesome trainers, take care of him and train him in the comfort of our home. Gonzalo was awesome! Before we decided on this type of service, he came over for a meet and greet. He took the time to understand our lifestyle, our goals for training, and what things we would like him to focus on for training. Best part, my wife and I felt totally comfortable with him training Kevin and living in our home while we were away. Gonzalo gave us daily updates and sent pictures and videos (turns out I had more separation anxiety then Kevin did and I loved getting the videos!). After we got home, Gonzalo took the time to show us what they learned and more importantly taught my wife and I how to continue the training. Specifically, Kevin is much better at his basic commands, his greetings with us and strangers, and entertaining himself. The most tangible difference is his loose leash walking - no more pulling. I can't recommend Zoe's Dog Training enough. I contacted them via email back at the end of August. We had recently adopted a rescue from Tijuana - a little schnauzer mix weighing in at about 15 pounds - guessing maybe 3 years old. Olive Branch had puppies in Tijuana and was brought to the US in July and fostered through Amazing Rescues. I received a phone call shortly after my email from Ashley and I detailed for her the issues we were having. Olive was pretty perfect, for a rescue, except when on our walks (on leash) through the neighborhood and she would see another dog! She would completely loose her mind. Yelping, barking, crying, flips in the street. It was out of control. We didn't know what to do. Fast forward nearly 4 months and thanks to Ashley, Olive's progress has been remarkable. She worked with us weekly at first, giving us homework to do with Olive. I would upload videos on their portal site during our walks so Ashley could see how we were progressing. I can't stress enough the difference Malory has made with our dog Shoopuff. The night I enlisted the help of Zoe's Dog Training I was ripping out my hair, unable to deal with the umpteenth time an accident had happened on our bed. Training was made SO much harder by the fact she doesn't like food - even dinner is a struggle. Our previous group training sessions with other trainers had failed miserably, we had been told she might not be trainable. I loved the dog, but I didn't love her inability to listen. Malory met us within the week to begin work. It's now been a little over two months and I swear we have a different dog now. She listens, she likes tricks, she tells us when we need things. Hell, she even takes treats and gets excited for dinner time now. I've learned so much about her - that she has jaw/teeth sensitivity and that's why she's not a fan of most food or toys, that she learns best by watching other dogs, and that she's actually very smart she's just not confident. We have a 2 year old Staffy rescue that is stubborn and reactive on a leash towards other dogs. Our experience started with a phone consultation with Zoe who let us know that our dog's behavior is something that can be rectified with proper training. We can't thank Zoe enough for coming to our home to help us with our new Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy, Gunner. At 8 weeks, Gunner weighed 14.8 lbs. At 14 weeks (9/22), he weighed 45.2 lbs. My point is, he is growing fast, but is still a puppy and wants to play, chew, bite, pull, pee and poo. Zoe came to our home and evaluated the family and Gunner. We addressed the areas of concerns where our methods weren't effective. Zoe then recommended better methods and tools that she felt were appropriate for helping Gunner better understand what we were asking of him. Her methods are gentle and effective. We recently adopted a rescue dog that had been mistreated and had severe anxiety issues. Highly recommended! I had a great experience with Zoe's. Although I never actually met Zoe, Ace Saunders took my dog, Izzy, on pack walks twice a week during the nine months that I lived in San Diego. I boarded Izzy with him on several occasions and he took her on several private walks too. There is a big difference between pack walks and solo-dog walks. When your dog goes on a solo walk, he or she gets some exercise and out of the house. On a pack walk, he or she gets that AND a social experience with other dogs. Given that dogs are social animals, this can be therapeutic for them and help them live happier, healthier lives. However, you need a dog handler who can reinforce good habits and make things go smoothly. My Izzy is a five-year-old, 130-pound female akita who is very mellow, loving, and sweet but, like all akitas, very dominant. Huge problems can occur if you don't know how to handle a dominant dog, but, if you do, she will likely be the easiest in any group. This is where Ace's talents came in. He is truly a master dog handler and helped my dog socialize and play with dogs of various sizes and temperaments. He helped her feel confident enough to relax but also to understand when she was pushing the boundaries. This had a big impact on her psychologically and affected everything about her interaction with the world. Although she's been going on pack walks since she was 6 months old, no other handler has impacted her so positively. He also happens to be extremely reliable, responsive, and a great communicator.
