My wife and I were clients of this company for about two years.

So here it is, my review of Pack Leader Plus. Bear with me, it's a bit of a long ride.
PROS:
Brooke and Tom were very capable of taking care of our two Husky rescues when I was out of town, running them on my bike and walking them, as well as cleaning up after our dogs in the backyard. I called a ton of places, and Brooke was about the only person at the time open to our admittedly high-maintenance sled dogs.
Price-wise, they weren't the least expensive, but we enjoyed the Fuzzy Cam, personalized service, and the willingness to work with our slightly-nutso dogs. We felt the home-visit approach was better for our dogs when we left town than a kennel, which we know freaks them out a bit, after being rescues and spending almost a year in a shelter.
CONS:
So... Brooke and Tom always had a personal touch, which was nice. We let them use our pool in the summer when we were out of town, and they posted pictures and videos of our Huskies on their public website and in an ebook. They also added my wife and I on Facebook, along with all of their other clients. I declined the add. It's not my style to mix business and personal, but the esposa is a good soul.
Here's where it gets weird.
A couple weeks ago, my wife emailed Tom and Brooke to schedule some visits with our dogs while we went on vacation. After no response, and sending a second email, Brooke gave my wife a call and said that they were "very upset" about my wife, who happens to be a Girl Scout troop leader, sharing a picture like this one:
http://cdn0.lostateminor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/girl-scout-cookies-1-650x487.jpg on Facebook.
Just to be clear, that's not a picture of MY daughter. It's a kid in San Francisco. Not us. My wife just posted it to Facebook, that's it.
So I spend a couple days of trying to talk sense into these guys over email, being told we were "drug supporters" in favor of "whacked out dope fiends" and that they would no longer service us because they were taking a moral stand (against pictures on Facebook? Huh?). I tried to wow them with logic, but no such luck.
You had one job, Brooke and Tom. Walk my dogs with a minimum of hassle, and get paid. Mind your business, respect your clients, and stay out of our personal lives. Simple.
Maybe they were really tired of biking my dogs, or just too busy, maybe it was something else. I don't know. I'll never know.
Along the same line, it's of course Tom and Brooke's right to think the way they do, but it's my right to tell you about it, and it's my right to leave this review.
CONCLUSION:
Were we happy with the service prior to being stalked online and judged for our personal views? Sure we were. But getting the boot with very short notice, requiring me to miss a family vacation to take care of our dogs, and (once everything went viral) getting called a lot of nasty names online and in media by these guys?
Very not cool. read more
