The door to the climate control wouldn't open. I called Customer Service, who seemed to be the only ones who cared, the Manager was unreachable and the District Manager was pitiful. I explained to her that my time is valuable that I don't punch a clock at Walmart that my wife and run 4 businesses. When we arrive at our storage unit it is because we are in a very limited window of time. This company has exhibited very little respect for their customer's time. Come to find out, that day, the assistant manager knew the door wasn't working but decided not to leave any kind of note or sign to let customers know. This morning I arrived at 7 a.m. and again the door wasn't working. I called Customer Service and again the manager was making excuses about how "a tenant must've done something to the door" ..... whatever! They can't live up to their promises of gate access and I can't always come during office hours. Sadly, the rent on the unit is $259 per month!!!! And we can't even get the access we paid for??? This is what I believe in, in this life....Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action. This is twice for you, CubeSmart.... trust me... there will not be a third time!!! Months later when I needed him to have access, I was told he hadn't been added as my authorized user but instead, my emergency contact. 2) I went into the office to add my dad as my authorized user and setup a transfer. I was previously told that if I transferred, it would only be $1.00. While in the office, I explained to Nyisha that I wouldn't be there and needed that my dad would be transferring my items. She seemed a bit resistant to assisting us but warmed up after a few. When my dad returned the next day to move my stuff, he was told he couldn't take possession as there were forms I needed to complete. When I called Ms. Nyisha to inquire about this, I was then told I had to complete the transfer forms in person. In the entire 30 minutes I was there the day before, why on earth would she not have told me about the transfer form??:???? Per Ms. Nyisha, she didn't know I wouldn't be there, she just thought my dad was moving me. IF I WAS GOING TO BE THERE, WHY WOULD I GO THROUGH THE TROUBLE TO ENSURE HE WOULD HAVE FULL ACCESS THE NEXT DAY TO MOVE MY STUFF???????? 3) I then had to rent a new storage and was charged the full fee of $105 not the discounted transfer fee. When they say follow your first mind do so, I was taking my stuff out of there altogether but decided to just transfer because of the transfer discount. 4) Because Ms. Nyisha didn't do her job and then was MIA, I was charged more by the mover for the extended time he was there.

Our furniture was molded due to leaks in the buildings. They charged us a $50 cleaning fee to leave wood and antifreeze they asked for...the wood alone is worth more than the cleaning fee. We would love for the owner of this job establishment to call us back with a resolution, although given our experience with the last visit, I'm not expecting a phone call or a resolution, so please do yourself and your family a favor and just stay away from American Storage...there are many other storage options in the area that are cheaper and they know customer service.
