I would never rent from this boat company again, and suggest no one else does either. DO not…read moree-transfer as your money will not be returned. I rented the Meridian 441 on July 19, 2020. I paid $1,000 deposit for gas, I was asked to e-transfer to Juan He. I spent a total of $120 gas on the yacht. Juan He is not returning my calls, and is not returning my $880. I had a horrible experience with Juan He. My car broke down the day I organized to pay cash deposit to Juan He, after that she was very rude and frustrated with me. I let her know that my car broke down, and my boyfriend was having second thoughts about the yacht due to Covid-19 and I would let her know as soon as I did about the yacht booking. I called back about 4 days later to book the yacht, she was still rude and stated that I had to pay full price of $3,808 in order to book the yacht. I e-transferred $1,904, and she threatened to cancel the booking and return my money. I asked if I could pay $1,904 deposit and pay the rest on the day of, and she angrily agreed. On July 19, she demanded a $1,904 e-transfer, or the yacht would not leave the Richmond dock to pick us up in False Creek. She also demanded a $1,000 e-transfer to pre-pay for gas. I paid, as she said she would cancel the charter if I did not. We reached False Creek, we were late for the charter understanding it would be going into our own time. We got on the boat and one bathroom did not work. We were promised 2 bathrooms. The other bathroom stopped working within an hour into the charter. We had no bathroom to use for the rest of the charter. Also, while on the yacht, the captain's driving was extremely unsafe. He did not seem qualified at all. My boyfriend has owned several boats/yachts before and was helping him the entire time, and was not able to enjoy his birthday as he was worried for our safety. The captain was not able to dock properly, and the yacht was rocking the whole entire time. Many passengers were thrown across the yacht and have bruises. The captain was also extremely rude and was yelling at the passengers of the party. He screamed "NO" when one passenger tried to take food from the top floor to the bottom floor. He stated all food must stay on the top floor, even though the food was flying everywhere. Also, he forbid us to take off the windows of the top floor of the boat, he claimed "they are hard to put back on." We were sitting on the top, and it was muggy and crowded, we said we would help put them back on and took them off ourselves. I understand that I did not show for the first payment, but that is no reason to mistreat your customer for the entirety of their booking and also steal their money.

Unreliable. Sail at your own risk!…read more Harbour Cruises of Vancouver completely failed to deliver on the promise of their Indian Arm cruise. They claimed smoke in the engine room and limped back to port before we even turned into the Arm. Other reviews have reported unexplained itinerary changes that eliminated the main part of the trip. One has to wonder if they don't go up the Arm simply to save money when it's not fully booked or if their boats are that unreliable. While I understand mechanical issues, their compensation policy was completely inadequate. They offered a free drink on board and a coupon for 15% off a future cruise. Anyone booking on the internet can get a 20% discount off any cruise! After much back and forth they finally offered a 20% refund. The final price after this discount was approximately double the price of a narrated harbor tour. We received an un-narrated tour of the container port instead of a tour of the natural environment, which is what we were promised. We feel cheated by Harbour Cruises of Vancouver. Sail at your own risk!

The sunset must be beautiful, as it would be visible beyond the river that this is located on, but it was winter, and since I was of the "other friends" group that arrived after dinner, it was dark already. The space itself wasn't too large. I am guessing 100 or less for standing/dancing, and less for sit-down meals. The path leading up to the hall is as to be expected of a nautical place (deck or metal with holes), but it wasn't too difficult to navigate with heeled shoes. I'm not sure if the catering was from here or hired separately, but the cheesecake bites were good! Not too sweet nor too heavy.

My first time to Firehall Arts Centre I was impressed by how authentically cool it looks from the outside, inside, and backside... and hold on, is that a bar I see? Yes!!! Like any good theatre, liquor is included on the bill! The theatre itself is sizeable, yet still small enough to have that cozy feel to it. There was a rock-ish band playing at the time, but I think to give a true review on the auditorium, I'll have to attend a show! The real win though has to be the couryard! A closed in garden sanctuary, you would never know it exists from the outside! With a couple of levels of terraced patios and a yard below, this was the perfect space for listening to acoustic sounds, some quiet chatter and breathing in a crisp autumn evening... It has the makings of a mid-summer night's moonlit escapades written all over it!

HYROX Vancouver at the Vancouver Convention Centre was an incredible experience…read more The venue itself is outstanding--spacious, clean, and perfectly set up to handle the scale and energy of a HYROX competition. The layout made it easy to move between heats, spectating areas, and recovery zones without feeling overcrowded, even with a packed crowd. The natural light and harbour views added a surprisingly uplifting vibe for such an intense indoor event. From an athlete and spectator perspective, everything felt well-organized. Clear signage, efficient check-in, and plenty of space for warm-ups and transitions made the day run smoothly. The atmosphere was electric--loud, motivating, and supportive, exactly what you want when pushing through a demanding race. Staff and volunteers were helpful and professional, and the crowd energy was next-level. Whether you were competing, supporting someone, or just soaking it all in, the experience felt first-class. If HYROX returns to Vancouver, the Convention Centre is the perfect home for it. Highly recommend both the event and the venue.
