Strolled in about 6 months ago to casually try it out and never left! I'm new to boxing & Muay Thai and I immediately felt welcomed by the good vibes of Coach Ivy and the team. Their class times work well with my schedule, and they also conduct 1-on-1 sessions for whoever wants personalized attention, speedier improvements, and/or different workout times. All the members are friendly and respectful and there's a good mix of beginner to advanced class attendees. I always get a great workout, and *unexpected side effect!* it has also massively improved my mental health in general. Lastly, the weight room area in the back is an awesome perk, and the monthly auto-billing option is convenient with standard, easy-to-understand terms. So grateful for PTC! read more

I am a long time member of PTC. It's been important for my health to stay with a consistent team who really knows me well. There is a family feeling at PTC that is very special. The coaches are owners and are invested in my experience. Not only do the coaches teach their own classes but they all attend each other's classes as well. I am able to see their own participation and dedication to their own fitness. They truly lead by example. Whatever level you are at with boxing they will meet you at your level. I encourage you to try a boxing class at PTC and see how good it makes you feel. You will feel strong both mentally and physically after working out with the PTC team. I signed up for a month to month after speaking with "coach Ivy" who told me I could take advantage of their special and just do a month if I wanted to, then cancel and get the discount. After signing up and cancelling she THEN informed it was actually 2 months minimum. When I tried to talk to her about it, she just kept repeating their "gym policy", which she didn't inform me of at all when she signed me up. Fine, whatever. Low level b.s. I submitted their cancellation paperwork and Ivy said I would ONLY be charged for Feb, but I just saw they never cancelled it and charged me for March and April as well, so now I have to submit a claim through my bank. I would be VERY wary of this gym based on my personal experience with them and how badly they communicate their policies and handle billing. I tried several times to follow up but nobody ever responded. They basically hook you in to membership, then try to scam you out of money if ever you want to cancel. Super lame. read more

Wanted to like this place but really sketchy billing practices and the gym was average at best. They are closed for about half of the day (something I was not informed of when signing up) when I told them that their schedule would not work and I would like to cancel my membership they told me I had to pay for 2 full months despite only going to the location once. I've had to open a case with my CC company and they are still trying to bill me 3 months later. Do not give these people your CC info read more

I started going to PTC because it was so close, and it was probably one of the best decisions i have ever made. The atmosphere is great, and the people are super nice. The coaches are amazing and are always thinking of things that will help students. They are willing to take extra time to help those who are struggling, and it is honestly just super fun to go, and learning boxing and muay thai are also just really fun things to do. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Kru Eddie and the team are awesome. PTC staff aren't intimidating... when they're sitting down - but you never really see them sitting down. They're always making the time productive - they live, breathe, practice this art. Expect to learn a few things, even from the advanced students. They walk you through. The all-levels classes are great, and I'm excited to know that they've added yoga to the schedule. I also took a couple of classes for strength and conditioning - oh man, ouch. I've been training at PTC for maybe 5 months and I LOVE IT! I was looking for a boxing gym that actually spent time teaching you technique and form not only a workout class and PTC exceeded my expectations! Not only did I fall in love with Muay Thai but really have learned soo many useful skills! PTC is fantastic! I have been practicing Muay Thai and boxing for the past year and a half, over three different gyms. From all of them, PTC was the only one that really made me feel a part of their family. The classes have a solid format that will make anyone sweat, build and stay fit. Hands down the best workouts I get each week are at Pacific Training Center. My boxing needs a lot of work but I'm hooked and trying to get better. My youngest son is 10 years old and loves the Tues. & Thurs. Kids Boxing Class. I was also surprised to see there are just as many girls as there are guys in each class. These guys know what they're doing and offer training and classes for every level of skill and fitness. PTC, keep it up and you guys are going to need a lot more space. read more

Trained here for two weeks and loved every second of it. Multiple classes a day, the training was difficult, I felt like I was training like a champion here. Loved the fact there seemed no bother about contracts, the pricing was very reasonable. Loved the energy here and if I didn't have to go back to school in a different area, I would still be training here. People were friendly and it was great to know people by name. Really enjoyed a sense of traditional muay thai and great music selection too. Wish I could go back. read more

My experience here has been nothing short of fantastic! I have a physical disability that limits the type of exercise that I can engage in. So, I started training at PTC a few months ago hoping that boxing would be a good way for me to get in a good workout that is both physically and mentally engaging/demanding. It has been great! There are things I am not able to do perfectly, but training one-on-one with Eddie has seriously changed my life. He always finds a way for me to succeed without lowering the standard. I will be forever grateful to Eddie and the PTC family for the impact they have made and continue to make in my life. More generally, the staff and clientele are friendly and positive, turning what could very easily be an intimidating environment into an exceptionally inclusive one. There is no way to put it other than the services provided by Eddie and his staff beats any other gym in SD, PERIOD! After working with trainers for years there is nothing that compares to Eddies classes and private training. If you want results and improve your quality of life, this is the place to be. This is the easiest review to write. Eddie and rest of the crew you are legends! I LOVE training here. The gym is the perfect size, fully equipped with everything you'd ever need for boxing or muay thai training and you guys keep it impeccably clean. Signing up on the monthly plan is so easy and I was even helped out with a pro-rate as I started at the end of a month. The workouts are intense, drills are professional and the trainers are dedicated and inclusive of all shapes, sizes, gender and experience. Best of all, you are such nice, normal, happy people - none of this 'cobra-kai' shouting 'motivational' b.s. that i've experienced at some other so-called 'fight gyms'. This is as good as it gets. Owned and operated by the trainers. They guys love to train, and will raise the skills and fitness of anyone, at any level. These guys know everyone by name, and make it personal. No long-term commitment contracts, because they don't need them. You go once, you'll keep going. Great workout, great trainers. Can't be beat. PTC is a 'family" owned gym - no corporate hype, no membership incentive fees..... the trainers are simply committed to providing the best cardio and technical instruction available for Boxing, Muay tai and strength conditioning.... not many rules either ..... just show up, and be ready for a great workout. I highly recommend PTC to anyone interested in boxing / muy thai. The facility has everything you need and the staff is helpful and very friendly. I have been a member at PTC for about a year and I have no plans of discontinuing my membership. I have taken classes with every trainer and i enjoyed them all. The training is difficult but very rewarding and a lot of fun, plus the music selections is great. The staff is energetic and you can tell that they enjoy training fighters of all skill levels. Back when I went to a standard gym and simply lifted weights I dreaded going, but since picking up boxing I look forward to working out and training... I've been to a few different gyms that offer Muay Thai in San Diego and this is by far the best I've experienced. I've gotten more technique coaching in the past 3 months which has made a huge difference for me. Everyone is really friendly and professional, it's a family run place that I would feel comfortable bringing friends, family or children to.They keep everything really clean and the environment is not intimidating at all. I highly recommend this place for anyone. This place is easily five stars in my book. read more
