I've been trying to schedule a service for a week. No response. Doesn't seem like anyone answers the phone, voicemails or emails.

I called them for mulch. The lady who answered the phone has not business sense and frankly rude. I am leaving this one out.

Aside from the service (more on that below), I find they usually have a decent stock of a variety of plants and they're usually pretty healthy, if a bit pricey compared to big box retailers. I do still prefer to shop here because it feels better than spending at a big box store but it also didn't take much research to discover Pacific Topsoils is owned by GRO-Well Brands, which is itself a conglomerate and by no means a local or small business, which I've seen some reviews assume. Service wise, it all depends on who you talk to and what mood they're in. Recently, I called to check on a product and the young man who answered brusquely said they didn't have it, so I caved and ordered it from Amazon. Then, I went to pick up some plants and discovered they had what I'd called about. I told the older gentleman who was ringing me up about the exchange and he somewhat rudely just said, "well, we always have that in stock," like I should've known, not the other employee who should've known. On the other hand, he did put out a call for someone to help me with the several bags of soil I ordered and a friendly young gal answered. She had clearly been working hard all morning but she wa so helpful and asked if there was anything else she could help me with before she left to assist another customer she noticed. If all the employees had her friendliness and pep, this place would get 5 stars, easy.

I've been very happy with the quality the annuals I buy every spring. The perennials, not so much. I've had a number of roses, red salvia, heucheras and all my cone flowers not come back the 2nd year. Some of my perennials do well so I will continue to buy those at Grey barn. The others I will get a different nursery sadly.

While I didn't buy anything on this trip, I was looking for some ideas to fill a couple of pots I recently purchased at an estate sale, and - wow - did they have some great inspo. I appreciated that their plants appear to all be PNW-friendly varieties, available in everything from small starter varieties to full-sized, in-ground offerings. This isn't a fancy nursery, so there wasn't a lot of that extra stuff you find at other garden centers (like clothing, books, furniture, etc), but if you're looking for some local garden inspo I highly recommend them!

The contract was…read moreimprecise, but we (fools that we are with tens of thousands of dollars) trusted the articulate, seemingly authentic salesman to follow-through and do what we'd asked, what the contract implied and expressed would be done, and what the articulate and cool conman nodded his head and spoke words to as if in approval. Mid-project, we began to ask questions and voiced concerns. That was just too much for the namby-pamby to handle, so we were treated to rude adjectives too unfair to justify any further interaction. We will pay fools to go away. We suggest future buyers beware of misplaced trust in the contracts of this company, in the word of this company's representatives, and in the quality of the work for which we paid but which was either incomplete, incompetently performed, and/or woefully inadequate. The laborers were polite and accommodating, with one nodding yes to every query (?language skill deficit) and the other learning by Google as he tried to do some job he obviously didn't know how to do while lacking supervision or timely project oversight and management. In the end, we went elsewhere to have our job done. Classic got money for what they should have done. In their dreams we are pleased.

In September, I attended a wedding at this beautiful venue!…read more The ceremony took place on the perfectly green lawn with a lovely man-made pond and fountain in the backdrop. The weather couldn't have been better... sunny but not too hot, so I felt comfortable without any covering over the seating area. There is a cottage several yards away where the bridal party got ready, and it served as the starting point for them to begin their walk down the aisle. One might think that the main road running parallel to the property would be disruptive, but it's not a very busy street, so you don't hear the cars driving by. During cocktail hour, guests were directed to the covered bar area to grab drinks and the venue had set up some lawn games like Jenga and cornhole for additional entertainment during this time. There was plenty of space for socializing and capturing photos. The reception was held in the Grand Barn that also had an outdoor patio area perfect for a buffet line. The large barn doors at both ends helped keep the air flowing and there were 11 tables that comfortably seated all the guests with about nine people per table. On top of this, there was enough space for a small band to set up and play live music. I loved the string lighting that draped down from the ceiling which illuminated the entire barn in a magical glow. Restrooms are in a separate structure out by the lawn, so it is a little walk away from the barn. Each one has two stalls and one sink. I believe both are gender-neutral. They were super clean, air conditioned and well-ventilated. I really admired the property grounds and the serene location away from the bustle of Seattle. From a wedding guest perspective, I would highly recommend Trillium for your big day.

The venue is truly stunning, featuring a fantastic location, a breathtaking fountain in the center of a pond, and ample space for parking and guests. There is a designated cocktail area where our bartender set up, allowing guests to mingle comfortably. The reception space is magnificent, adorned with beautiful lighting and silk draping from the rafters, plus a prep kitchen conveniently located next to the dining area, making it an excellent choice for caterers. One of the key advantages is that the rental spans from Friday at noon to Sunday at noon, which alleviated any stress regarding setup and takedown. Additionally, there is an on-site Airbnb included in the package. We booked it for both Thursday and Monday, ensuring the groomsmen never had to leave the premises. This was the best decision we made for the wedding party. There is also a beautiful area for the bride and bridesmaid to get ready complete with their own station with a mirror, emergency items (bobby pins, sewing kits, hair spray, makeup removers, etc.) and outlets for hair essentials. I wholeheartedly recommend this venue. Karissa and Tatijana managed the entire wedding with remarkable professionalism and care. On a day when it hadn't rained for over 25 years (talk about luck!), they skillfully accommodated and rearranged everything that needed attention without ever causing me concern. I am incredibly impressed by both of them; they are friendly, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with. If I had more daughters, I would undoubtedly choose this venue again.

After having our contractor pull out a glaringly mismatched pure-white trim, we were trying to keep things moving without compromising on the final look. We needed something that worked with our alabaster/ivory tile and Mapei Alabaster grout--and fast. We were immediately and thoroughly helped by the owner, who was not only knowledgeable but incredibly validating. She confirmed my instincts about the white-white trim looking cheap against our tile, even mentioning she doesn't stock it for that exact reason! I had started to feel like I was being too picky or difficult, but she reassured me I wasn't--and that meant a lot. She had multiple alternatives that looked significantly better, and she made a confident, trustworthy recommendation. She knew my tile, was familiar with the grout color, and--miracle of miracles--had exactly what we needed in stock and ready to go. We were bracing ourselves for a big expense, but the price was fair, and the experience was honestly a relief. We found the exact right piece, on the spot, without any drama. We'll absolutely be back--and recommending them to anyone we know doing tile work!
