This tanning salon is grimey. I've been coming here for years now and you would think that over the years and with the amount of revenue they bring in they would update the place a little but no. I've been in every bed there and very single room is dirty. The cheap wood doors are all splattered and stained with lotion. The decor is neon green, Barbie pink and pale blue- it's just tacky. They have cheap dollar store vinyl stickers for decoration and random placed mirrors. I asked two different girls what is the cleaning solution they use to clean the beds and they both had no idea. One told me "it's just a blue solution" The staff however is always very friendly so that's nice to deal with pleasant people and they're beds are good quality but compared to the other choices around me I usually shy away from here unless get a deal. They're prices are higher than other salons I've been to for sure but not sky high at least. The owner- Brad, is very experienced and knows his shit up and down for sure and has always answered any questions I've had in the past. All in all they have a great selection of beds and like I said the staff is friendly but the cleanliness of this salon is on the lower side of the spectrum. read more

Very rough. Probably the grossest and most outdated tanning salons I have ever been in. If you don't have an appointment (I've been to many tanning places and never heard of this) they pretty much don't let you tan even if there are multiple beds open. Literally the first thing they ask before your name is if you have an appointment when you walk in. Beds don't work great trouble starting and overheating with awful customer service. It's obvious that none of the chicks working there actually want to be there. read more

Since I'm new to LI I got many recommendation to check out Pacific. I'm def glad I did! The staff, especially Anna, have all been so nice and helpful and patient with me asking 1000 questions lol! I also bought a sample of the body decor lotion which is there own brand and I really liked it. Saw result after just one tan in the basic bed. Not only does she know what she's talking about but she is soooo sweet I catch myself wanting to stay and talk to her lol! I never leave this place NOT tan! I use brads lotion from his very own line and it helps with an even bronzing and smells sooo good and fresh! The owner (brad) is soo accommodating! I recommend any pacific location. The best tanning salon around. I have been to others (*joes tanfasia-- you know, the one that closed down with no notice and stole thousands from their customers) and I never get the same color that I get at pacific tanning. Always clean and almost always can walk in without an appointment unless it's prom season of course! But I usually call ahead just in case I want a specific bed! The girls that have been working there the last few years are amazing. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Brad the owner is also great and amazing with his customers. Always have great prices and deals going on. WILL NOT go anywhere else read more

Well I was very excited to hear that my tanning salon that I have been going to since they have opened was now reopened. I called made an appointment on Wednesday 6/10. I get to the salon and there is a sign stating they were shut down. I totally understand that it was out of their hands to be closed till phase 3 but a phone call to people that had appointments would have been nice! read more

I was searching on Groupon for a tanning salon. I purchased this one visit for 15.50. Called and Kayla said I could come in at anytime. Wonderful. I arrived and she took all my information. Then she proceeds to tell me that I could get a new customer package. Since I already purchased the 1 visit for 15.50 she would be able to give me an additional 4 visits on to the 15.50 and all I had to do was pay the tax for the 15.50 so I was getting 5 visits for 16.50 which I already paid for on Groupon ...great all sounds good so far. Then she said if I buy the lotion for 12.00 and purchase 2 packets I could add another 2 visits for an additional 5.00...ok so the math I repeated to Kayla several times was 12.00 plus 12.00 for 2 packets is 24.00 plus 5.00 for the additional 2 visits brings us to 29.00 correct? She said yes 3 times as I kept repeating it. So now she goes into her computer sets everything up and now tells me I owe 44.00..really? How? Well she said I already paid for the 1 visit on Groupon and now she is charging me for the other 4 visits at 15.00 plus the 2 packets at 12.00 each and another 5.00 for the extra 2 visits. WHAT? Are you kidding me? So the great deal that she sold me originally for 29.00 now jumped up to 44.00. Did she think that she was dealing with an idiot. I told her deal is off and I just want my 1 visit that I paid for on Groupon and gave her back her little key tag because I Will never be back here again...it's very sad that she probably thought she had me since I was so excited with the original deal until she tried to scam me for more money and noticed I wasn't biting after I told her that's not what she originally said..I happen to teach children to always be honest and forthcoming. As an Irish, transparent ginger, I am surely not a fan of tanning and it is not something I do regularly. Normally, during the summers I'm caspers twin sister and I own it. However, this summer I had a few trips planned to some very sunny places and having gotten a raging case of sun poisoning in the past by going on vacation with ghostly skin, I wasn't about to fail like that again. I bought an unlimited 1 month package and all the girls that worked there we very knowledgeable and sympathetic to my freckled situation. Following their advice, I have to say I was able to get a great base tan and didn't experience any sun misery on my vacation. Yes, I'm aware that tanning causes cancer...blah blah blah but sun poisoning destroys vacations. So overall, of course with continued sun/UV exposure, you're gonna look like a hot piece of leather but I'm very happy with the various beds at this location and the knowledge that the girls that work there apply to the beds. read more

I've been tanning on and off at this place for years. Recently I tried another cheaper place and wasted my time and my money by doing so. I went 4 days in a row and didn't get as tan as I did going one time at Pacific Tanning. I used to love the Dark Fader bed. It's been replaced with a bed they call Orange King Crush (which I have to admit I feel silly saying when I call to book and appointment) but 12 minutes in this spaceship looking bed does it for me. Nice dark bronze tan and I'm in and out in no time. The staff has always been fairly professional with the exception of a few people over the years, but Brad the owner seemed to get rid of them pretty quickly. I would (and do) recommend friends and family to this tanning salon. Oh and the coupons they send out on their facebook and mailing list are always pretty good too. read more

I've been going to Pacific Tanning for about three years and I've NEVER had a problem. In fact I've always found this place and their staff helpful and convenient. They save your info such as which bed you last used so that you don't have to remember. That's until tonight, Friday, March 17 around 10:30. I always call before I show up, the staff looks me up and has the bed ready for me. Well this girl was rude from the moment she picked up the phone. I didn't even know how to begin to tell her I wanted to show up in 30 mins. Because she made it awkward. Without looking me up she said the bed I wanted was not available. Once I got there I was having trouble buying the Groupon deal and she didn't bother to help me. I usually don't even have to buy the Groupon the girls know the deal and honor it. She said those girls lacked training. I don't think I'll be going here anymore, there's closer and cheaper salons near me. But if she has the highest form of training I rather deal with the girls that lack training and that can at least smile to a customer. read more

I am a VIP package holder at pacific tanning in selden and every single time have had no complaints, clean beds, trendy atmosphere and great prices. However last night really put a bad taste in my mouth. I usually tan in the highest bed, number 5 and as someone who has experience working in tanning salons and someone who does their research, I have no desire to tan in low level beds because of the levels of UVB rays. Last night I went into pacific and the whole waiting area was full of the workers friends. No chairs were open to sit, hoI gave the girl working my name and asked if bed 5 was available. She said no, it wouldn't be available for 20 minutes but she had the "regular bed" available. As I said, I wouldn't even bother tanning in a low level bed because I have educated myself on tanning beds and tanning. So I said ok what's the regular bed? She looked at me like I had 5 heads and responded "the regular bed" and so again, I have experience working in tanning salons and know a lot about the different beds so I said "ive never been in that one, what's the regular bed?" Again, she looks at me like I have 5 heads and goes "the regular bed" like I'm not understanding her or something. I got frustrated and said "so it has mostly UVB rays????" She then proceeded to answer the phone without saying "hold on" or "excuse me" and responds to me while on the phone "um, yeah." Still looking at me like I'm from another planet because I don't know what "the regular bed" means. I ended up leaving and not even tanning because I'm not going to go into a bed when the only thing that can be explained about it is "the regular bed". In my experience working in tanning salons I was able to give the customer the actual name of the bed, for example: P90, iBed, sungate. Not only that but I was able to tell them the exact percentage of the UVA and UVB rays and what those percentages meant to their tan. I could give them almost every detail about the bed they were about to tan in. So I hate to say this is Pacific tanning's fault because I've had great experiences with the other girls working, but this time really put a bad taste in my mouth. read more

My job sends me to tanning salons all over the tri-state area to review and blog. Pacific tanning claims to be " one of the top salons in the nation " but from what i experienced that is so far from the truth. First off the look of the salon was dated and tacky. The walls have old molding falling off and stains on the carpets,and if that wasn't enough to turn someone off theres actually plastic lawn clairs in waiting area. I reviewed the packages with the girl at the front desk to get an idea of the pricing,and she kept pushing some kind of contracted long term over priced package on me instead of month to month like i asked for. They expected me to pay a start up fee then the first month and then if you buy this and then decide you dont want to be a part of it anymore they actually charge you money, obviously i decided to only buy a single tan because i dont live in the area but even if i did i would never pay those outrageous prices for their package. Finally i just bought the single tan and without even buying lotion it came to about 33.00$. Once my bed was finally ready after waiting 15 mins after my appointment time I asked the girl at the desk to show me to my room and explain how the bed works. She was very rude when I asked her , and actually turned me down explaining how busy she was. The bed I went in would of actually been pretty cool except for the fact that the misting,aroma,and ipod plog in wasn't set up , or maybe was broken not sure since the girl refused to explain it to me. After my tan I reached for the towel set out for me and realized it was more of a hard falling apart rag, which actually really grossed me out. After leaving the room i checked out some of the other amenities, they had teeth whiting and spray tanning but it was set up in the hall way in the middle of everything!!! Someone was actually sitting there getting there teeth whitened in front of all the other patrons how embarrassing! Overall I had really high hopes for this salon after reviewing their website before my trip in , but after leaving I was very disappointed and disgusted by their uncleanliness,prices,and staff. Your better off using sunless self tanner from your local drug store, or laying out in your back yard then tanning at this salon! read more
