RUINED SHIRT. 2 week wait for the shortening (she REALLY tried, I guess) but nice new shirt is ruined. A simple job that would now make me look like I'm wearing a crop top (see pic with disinterested Melody in background). Can't believe the lack of expertise & service here. Shape ignored as well. Melody's alterations seem fine enough but I'm leaving a one star review because of her customer service. She tried to gaslight me that the clothes I had dropped off were ready for a long time when I knew for a fact they were months late. I dropped off 10+ pieces needing alterations, and 2-3 months later when I didn't hear anything, I found my receipt and called in. I spoke with Melody, the owner- I know because she stated she remembered me dropping off my garments. She told me she was so sorry and that she had forgotten about them in the back and that they would be ready soon. Fine, it happens. She called me a week later that they were ready. Great, thanks. But when I went in one month later, there was no trace of apologies and she said my things have been there a long time. I said, yes I think you texted me three weeks ago. She said, no they've been here a really long time, as if they've been here ready all those months. Felt so dishonest and manipulative, not going back. read more

Melody is amazing. My suit was oversized in many places, since I am short and curvy. She was able to quickly tailor my suit to not only fit me perfectly, but make me look red carpet ready. My friend who got married yesterday recommended me to this place. He took his suite in to get it fixed for his wedding and was really happy with Melody's work. I brought my dress in on the 16th to get the straps shorten. Melody asked me to put my dress on. It took her a second to pin the straps to where the dress fit me perfectly. After I took off my dress, she asked to when I would be needing it. I told her the 25th. She then said I could pick it up on Thursday the 22nd after 3:00 p.m. Before taking the dress home on that day, I tried it on to make sure I was happy with the alteration. It was done just the way I had imagined it. My dress fit me just right! Melody was professional, at the same time, and friendly. She is very skillful at what she does. Brought in a brand new pair of pants with a tag on it to get altered. Got them back with a stain on it. They want to blame it on a security device when I ordered the pants online. The lady said she did not see a stain when she pressed them out so she blamed it on me. Then I get accused for bringing "a pair of pants that were already stained in." Melody is a miracle worker! You can really see the pride and precision in her work, and her attention to detail. I highly recommend her, especially for difficult, delicate dresses! I've brought 4 different dresses into her -- from chiffon to silk and between, and she's a master with all fabrics -- even the super delicate ones that look like they will disintegrate upon the smallest wind, or melt upon the slightest hint of humidity. (Ladies, you know exactly what I'm talking about.) From ill-fitting dresses that have run the gamut from "sack-like" to slutty, she's managed to transform them all into beautiful gowns worthy of wearing IN (and to) several weddings (and even in a manner that respectfully accentuates the girls without offending conservative grandma). If I could give a negative 5 star review I would do so. Don't go here unless you have no intentions of needing your clothing, or if you enjoy your zippers being sewn backwards and the teeth being bent and unable to zip. This women is not only an incompetent seamstress, but an awful business owner. I brought in 2 bridesmaid dresses, 3 weeks before I needed them. I told her I would pick them up on a Tuesday, I called Monday and she had no idea who I was (this should have been a red flag), I went into her smelly outdated shop Tuesday evening and again she had no idea who I was and tried to give me someone else's dress. She assured me that my dresses were almost done and she would call me tomorrow. As I was leaving PB to attend 2 weddings and then move to Italy for 3 years, I was busy and picking them up in the afternoon was my only option, and should have given her plenty of time. I called Wednesday at 5 and she told me she needed another hour, After enjoying oysters at fish shop (5 stars) I walked to her shop with 2 friends. She was very surprised to see me there, as we had just spoken, 20 minutes prior. I had to once again remind her what dresses were mine. Upon trying on the first gown it quickly became clear that she had not only not done the job incorrectly, but that she hadn't even touched them before I called her at 5 pm. I demanded to see the other dress, which she was trying to rush and do the alterations on... A micros silk gown costing $280, not a fabric you rush on. My friend had to physically go stand over Melody and demand to take the gown off the sewing machine, as I had asked Melody numerous times for her to stop sewing. Needless to say the job was not completed. And I was not paying. She agreed to pay for the alternations to be completed by someone on the east coast. She also called me twice to confirm in the days following and apologize for her mistake. When I sent her the bill, she called the seamstress in Vermont, who was able to save both dresses thank goodness! Upon being told was a disgraceful job Melody had done and what the cost of the alterations was, Melody agreed AGAIN to pay for the alterations. As you'll see in the emails attached, Melody now feels that she doesn't need to hold up her end of the deal or pay for her mistakes. I've been here many times and there were hiccups here and there, but I assure you Melody will make things right until things are done correctly. She genuinely cares about what she does and personally sees to make sure the job is done to your satisfaction. Her wide smile is always welcome as well. It's nice to be a voice for small businesses around town and let the public know that we don't have to do businesses only with big companies to get your money's worth. Melody is awesome! I have used a few different tailors in PB and have never been fully satisfied. The tailors I have used have either done shoddy work or were not reliable. Melody; on the other hand, is the exact opposite. I only took her a few articles of clothing to be tailored to make sure her Yelp reviewers were telling the truth...they most certainly were. I love the feel of tailored dress shirts and a very tailored suit. Melody made one of my suits and two of my shirts look like a million dollars. I get the impression that this place is only for big time alterations. If you're not spending $100 or more, expect your order to get lost in the shuffle. Took in a pair of pants to be hemmed. This is obviously the most basic fundamental tailoring act one can perform. However, I was told that it would take a week to perform this task. Fair enough, I thought, I'm sure they're busy. Before coming in to pick up my pants today, I called first to make sure they were ready. I even explained that I was very busy and didn't have time to come by if the pants weren't ready to go. I was assured that they were ready for pick up. You can imagine my surprise when I showed up and the tailor gave me a confused look when I handed her my receipt. SHE HAD COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN ABOUT MY ORDER, even though I'd called first and given my name. She wasn't even apologetic about it. And also, it really shouldn't take a whole week to hem one pair of pants. read more

I came in here with a dress that I bought on Ideeli. Of course the dress wasn't what I expected it to be, it needed to be tweaked in the bust area. At first she said it might not need any altering if I adjusted the straps, so we tried that and it made it a little better, but just wasn't what I wanted it to be. She told me since the dress was made a certain way she would have to take it apart and reconstruct the upper area. I said ok, but I was a little apprehensive of what it would cost to do so. I pondered the thought and said "sure, whatever needs to be done to make it look right." When I came back the following week, I tried it on and it was beautiful. I love finding local businesses to support, especially trade services. It seems like everything we need in modern life is moving in the direction of becoming a commodity. Melody is exactly the type of help I like having in life. I have been going to her for many years now, after being referred to her by the owner of a men's clothing store. Over the past 7 or 8 years, I have gone to her for everything from hemming slacks and tailoring suits or shirts, to having a duvet cover made from material my wife and I found. She has fixed purses, narrowed irreplaceable ties that have become out-of-fashion because of their width (thus, giving them new life), even tailored an ill-fitting T-Shirt (I wanted to support a friend's business, but, I've got to look good doing it, too... Right?). If I have had a pressing need for something done quickly, she has always accommodated me (but, I only go to that well if the need is real, because, I know she is juggling different customers, all of whom see themselves as the center of her universe). I am very particular with my attire and she consistently makes my stuff look "right." I can't recommend her highly enough. If you have a bad experience with her (I can't see how she could get a legitimate one star review on her technical ability or pleasant personality, which means they were petty attempts to hurt her business or vent, not actual reviews), you may just be one of those folks that has a gray cloud that follows only you, or, you project negativity and draw it to you. If you are looking for quality work, Pacific Tailor Shop is the place for you. read more

All of my garments were ready on time, fit perfectly and looked well-done. Since, I've taken more stuff (skirts, blouses) and I always walk away happy! I have only gone to her since we first met- she is extremely knowledgeable, detailed, and fast. She gets BUSY so make sure you keep that in mind if you need a rush job (plan ahead if you can). Even with that said- she still makes miracles happen. She is the BEST!!! Melody is great! She is fast and efficient. She had lots of experience and knows her stuff. Found my new San Diego tailor!! Had a black tie wedding, and I ordered a full taffeta skirt online. Wrong size. Rush ordered a new one and then had mere days to get it hemmed. Called and she said to come in right away. She offered me choices and a totally decent price and promised to have it done by Thursday evening (it was Monday afternoon...). The skirt had a really complex hem but was important for the shape and the way the skirt fell. She showed me how it was structured so I understood that the price reflected that. So friendly and helpful. And sure enough, was done by Thursday afternoon and looked perfect. :) Definitely taking my stuff here from now on. read more

I have come to her now with numerous bridesmaid dresses and my own wedding gown (lace all throughout, with very delicate beadings) I've sent my sister and friends to her and everyone of them has been pleased with her work. She is joy to work with. She is precise, kind, considerate, talented and passionate in what she does. She makes sure that her work leaves you feeling happy. WORST. CUSTOMER. EXPERIENCE. I. HAVE. EVER. HAD. The woman who runs this shop is all kinds of mean. I live very close to this shop and had my Bridesmaid's dress done here for my sister's wedding. I remembered that the woman who runs the shop had a bit of an attitude but I was in no way prepared for the cruelty she enacted on me during my second visit. I needed to get a dress tailored for a costume. I walked in with the dress and was met by a woman whom I am guessing from the other reviews is named, Melody. I told her the alterations I wanted for the dress and she shot them all down. I was a little bit frustrated by her attitude, so I took my dress and left. A few days later I was running out of time to get my dress altered. I realized that Pacific Tailor was the closest shop to me and I would have to re-encounter Melody and it made my skin crawl. I entered the shop and she looked up from her sewing machine making a face at me. I asked her if I could get the dress altered and a zipper put in the back. After making faces at me while I explained my plans for the dress, she told me to put it on. I put on the dress and showed her what I wanted but each time I prompted her, she would counter what I asked for by telling me it wouldn't work. I informed her that my Mother is a seamstress and had done similar things on other garments. She eventually fitted the dress and sarcastically wished me luck as I try to get it off. It is as though Melody knew I would struggle to get the dress off and get picked and poked by pins as I tried to get it off. She was using the rudest voice to continually ask me if the dress was off. After I could not get the altered dress off, I walked out and she said, "okay, so you will need a zipper if this is what you want". I HAD TOLD HER ALL ALONG THAT WAS WHAT I WANTED. She over-charged me in the end and was rude, unaccommodating, and probably one of the most haughty, narcissistic, and unpleasant people I have ever encountered. In the end I told her I needed the dress in a week, which she told me wasn't enough time. DO NOT GO HERE!! Awful awful.. read more

I'm so glad my bff told me about this place. I have a regular tailor I go to for my other clothes, but for my premium denim jeans, I always take them to Pacific Tailor for original hemming. It's quite a drive for me, but until I find someplace better, I'm taking my jeans here. Melody the owner is very friendly. She's got nice big dressing rooms and shoes you can borrow if you forget to bring your own, and she takes credit cards for payment. I like the way she hems my jeans with the original hem, and she doesn't use the "fold" method like my regular tailor does. She does a pretty good job considering what she charges. I've taken my True Religion, Rock & Republic, and other jeans to her over the last couple of years, and have always been pleased with the results. It looks like Melody does all the sewing herself, and only brings in help when needed. You can probably have Nordstrom original-hem your jeans perfectly, but they charge $10 more than Melody does, which to me it isn't worth it. One time Melody didn't hem my jeans correctly (i.e. they were still too long), and she corrected it at no charge. My only complaint about Pacific Tailor is the limited hours they're open, and sometimes parking in this shopping center can be challenging. read more

I've come here twice, once for getting wedding pants hemmed, another time for getting pockets in my favorite shorts basically replaced (they were ripped everywhere). Both times the workmanship has been great and the price reasonable. Very friendly service and the job is done when she says it will be and for the price that was quoted. Very poor service. The lady said the job would be done Monday 7 days after I dropped it off. I came back on Tuesday 8 days later needing the item for that afternoon. She had not complete anything we talked about and told me"you live around here right? Just come back later". Complete wast of time. I found another tailor who charged half the price and said it would be ready the next day . Needless to say I won't be coming back to pacific tailor. read more
