HORRIBLE Experience: Although the doctor was kind and thorough, the business itself is unethical: the reception staff was kind, but totally misinformed. Cost was a huge issue for me and so I requested information multiple times to ensure that the only fees I would be responsible for would be my $35 copay. I was assured that this was the case and I believed her. Why wouldn't I? When my eye doctor tells me how much of my appointment or eyewear prescription I will be responsible for, the final cost always reflects the amount discussed. Same with every other medical appointment. Had the receptionist told me that she couldn't confirm the information herself and that I needed to call my insurance company, I would have done so. She literally told me SHE had called them to confirm since I had expressed such concern over confirming that information in advance. Had she told me that, in fact, my insurance company could only cover half (leaving me with $1,000+) bill, I would have waited until the fall when my new insurance cycle begins so that it could count toward the future deductible rather than during what was the end of an insurance cycle. When I received the bill, I was shocked. I called two different times as well as emailed the doctor (who just told me to talk to billing) and both women I spoke to in the billing department were rude and accusatory. They essentially called me a liar, saying that "our staff would never tell a patient a service was covered" (also, I just don't believe that--how is every other medical office able to provide this info. but they are not??). Finally, at my wit's end over a service charge I couldn't afford, I said, "I am not going to continue this call while you are speaking to me like this. Your tone and this whole situation is f*cking unreal" or something to that affect. And I'm sorry, but I think referring to a situation where I am being sent in circles and consistently gaslit and spoken to like a lying criminal trying to get away with something in a situation where the OFFICE's misinformation resulted in a huge cost to me, I think calling the situation "f*cking unreal" is reasonable. I reached out to the doctor again who, instead of responding, forwarded my complaint to a director of some sort who responded coldly, accused me of being abusive, removed the ability to create a payment plan, removed the ability to respond to the message, and added an additional fee to my bill. The other reviewers here saying things like, "Their billing practices are suspect at best," were being kind. Also, the tech who ran my study made me uncomfortable, cords kept coming undone throughout the night (waking me up multiple times to fix them and then standing in the room with me while he asked me to fill out the survey about his performance) and nothing even came of the study, despite having a significant history of sleep troubles. Need I say more? Sloppy at best, abusive and unethical at worst. read more

My encounters with Dr. Breaden demonstrated to me why she has been recognized in Portland and beyond as an outstanding provider. She listened carefully, took time to communicate (impressive), and created a treatment plan tailored to my particular situation. This office was superb when under the direction of Dr. Rich which ended about 2015. His replacement has a PhD in 'Insomnia' and she filters everything through that. She was adamant that an anti-depressant taken for 20 years had 'suddenly' started causing daytime sleep issues. ** ( a half-life of about 12 hrs meaning it was 50% out of my system by the time I was up a couple of hours. ). But she insisted the remaining was forcing me to take two or three one-hour naps in the afternoon...?) The Internist and the Psychologist did not agree with her command to stop the anti-depressant to see if the 'daytime irrepressible sleep' would be cured. The symptoms of 'Clinical Depression' returned but nothing changed with the sleep issues. Her asst. at the time actually 'lied' to me which I determined almost immediately after her statement. !! I was scheduled for yet another Sleep Study on a Sunday evening. Others who checked in after me were being taken back before me. After an hour, I was informed that they had 'over-booked' and I had to go home and make another appointment....!! I do not know Dr. Kim. She was not there at this time. We and two friends found another physician not fixed on an 'insomnia' diagnosis. *. One star is it. read more

Dr. Radhika Breaden is a great choice for anyone looking for a sleep doctor. During my appointment, I, a 75-year-old patient, was impressed by her thoroughness. She asked me many questions, going all the way back to my childhood, in order to get a complete history of my sleep issues. She took ample time to explain possible solutions for my disorder and even looked at a previous sleep study that I had 6 years prior. She informed me of some results that my previous sleep doctor had never discussed with me. Dr. Breaden provided a generous amount of time to discuss my concerns and answer all of my questions in a manner that was completely understandable to me. One star maybe too high. My experience with Pacific Sleep Study Portland was terrible. Any kind of issues with appointments / co-pays / late charges seemed too much for the administration staff to process- both expensive and frustrating. Dealing with the medical side was not any better such as being told to just get used to CPAP and little to no help when I did come down with a sinus condition that required surgery to correct. Even after moving away from the area and changing medical providers, I received additional bill of $201.16 for a tele-medicine remote appointment I did not request and did not participate in. It was worth paying just to get away from the Pacific Sleep Study. read more

I looked into local sleep clinics on reddit before choosing this one. I'm glad I did. I was really impressed by Dr. Braeden, and the staff that I have interacted with. My only regret thus far is having not gone in a few years sooner when I first noticed slight changes in my sleep cycle. Exceptional!! My husband has suffered from insomnia for many years, which he attributed to jet lag since he travels a great deal. However during COVID, his problems worsened and we realized that it was something more than jet lag. We were exceptionally fortunate to have found the Pacific Sleep Program in Portland. From our first contact, the service was outstanding and incredibly responsive! Dr. Jennifer Kim went out of her way to adjust her schedule to allow for a detailed telephone consultation, and then scheduled him for a sleep study right away. At the same time, my husband was diagnosed with arrithymia, which Dr. Kim correctly suspected was related to a sleep disorder. The overnight sleep study was extremely professional and completed by an outstanding sleep technician-Steven. Dr. Kim diagnosed sleep apnea and went over the sleep study in detail with us. Since starting on a CPAP my husband's sleep quality has improved dramatically. Gave my husband a take home 'kit'. Ended up with no answers. Yet I still can't sleep with his snoring. The biggest gripe is that they didn't bill us for over a year so I assumed our insurances had covered it. I had questions on the bill so over the next few months I left numerous messages but got no return call. Finally, about four months after the initial bill, I got a hold of someone who was barely helpful. At this point I was sick of it so I just went ahead and mailed a check. Then a week later I get a 'stern' letter telling me I need to pay. Are you kidding me?? Had you reply to my first three or four calls it wouldn't have drug out this long. And why the heck did they wait a year to bill us in the first place? Won't go back to this place. read more

I would give a zero if there was an option for one. Save yourself some time and money and not go here. I was charged $480 for a 25 min zoom meeting with Dr. Huang which is ridiculous. Before the meeting, I filled out an extensive paperwork with my signs and symptoms which is what the doctor used to discuss with me during the meeting. I also told her I had met previously with another sleep specialist who recommended I do a sleep study (This doctor didn't charge me anything for consultation btw). At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Huang also recommended I do a sleep study. Two weeks later, I get a bill of $480 which made no sense to me because the Dr. told me something I already knew. I called the office to better understand the bill or talk to the doctor and the staff was very rude and told me that it is the standard charge code they use for first time patients. This is absolutely gut-wrenching and I will never go back or recommend anyone else to go there unless you have money to splurge. read more

I am so glad I've found the Pacific Sleep Program. It's so refreshing to visit someone who actually knows what they're talking about when it comes to sleep. Prior to the Pacific Sleep Program, I had visited a sleep specialist, a neurologist, a nurse practitioner specializing in psychology and a naturopath. More than three years of trying to get help and no one could, until I finally found Dr. Breaden through my insurance's website. It was so refreshing to finally get some answers and a real possibility of treatment. Apparently, sleep medicine is a field that has undergone some pretty large changes in the last couple years, and Dr. Breaden is one of the few people actually qualified in this field. This place is a disaster. After my first sleep study they insisted I needed another. It took months to get two sleeps studies and then a machine that didn't ever work. The machine I was given had the pressure turned up so high there is no way I could possibly sleep with it. I tried trouble shooting with the clinic and they did absolutely nothing to fix my problems. I know this place is a fraud because I found a new clinic that fixed my sleep problems right away, first try. Skip this terrible facility and go to Westside Sleep Center. The sleep study itself was 1,000% better than Pacific Sleep Program. The facility was better (with a private bathroom), the technician actually knew what he was doing and I woke up the next morning to a breakfast spread, fresh coffee, and immediately met with the doctor. I left my appointment with the PROPER machine in my hands feeling better than I have in years because I actually slept the night through. I never write bad reviews. Most of the time I just try to move on with my life after an unsatisfactory interaction with someone. But my treatment, specifically by Dr. Radhika S. Breaden, was so extraordinarily poor, I felt compelled to take the time to write this despite my plans to get a referral to another provider and never see her again. My insurance through my employer recently changed. As a result, my CPAP supply provider is no longer covered by my insurance. I contacted Pacific Sleep Program to get a referral to another provider. At that time, they told me I had missed my annual check-up (which they never contacted me about) and had to come in to be seen, but that if I did, they could provide supplies for me under them. (This previously was not possible with my former insurance.) The front desk worker told me they had a cancellation for 8am the very next morning, and I moved a bunch of meetings so I could come in and see the doctor and get set up. This is my first visit back to the clinic since my original diagnosis over a year ago. I have not been contacted by this provider at all in the intervening 14 months for follow-up. At no point does the very nice woman I talk on the phone tell me that I need to bring my CPAP machine in with me to my appointment. Additionally, because the software I use for my CPAP tells me repeatedly, as does my supplier in emails, that the doctor can download all my sleep data (which I can also view on my phone), it doesn't occur to me they need it. And since I've never had a follow-up visit, I have no previous experience telling me that I need to do so. At 6:30am, I drive an hour from my house to the appointment only to find that when I get there, the doctor refuses to see me without the machine. Further, she lectures me about how it could not possibly be their fault, that they most definitely did tell me to bring it, that their staff read from a script and this is all on me. Recently I have been feeling very tired and have been nodding off in the day, so I know I need an adjustment, and I just wanted to talk to the doctor. She tells me without the machine she cannot and will not talk to me and doesn't 'feel comfortable' billing me for a full appointment to talk to me when she can't give me any specific information. This despite the fact that I have NORCO, use Dreammapper, and can literally see my data on my phone in my hand at the appointment. I say fine, that I will leave and come back but I'd like to get set up with the supplier in the mean time because it will likely be weeks before I can come back due to work. She says I cannot do get supplies until she has seen me, that they don't do it until there is a check-up. I go back into the lobby, she follows me, continues to berate me, insisting that this is all my fault, that they told me to bring the machine and asking me again and again why I didn't. I tell her I don't want to argue about it but she keeps pestering me. Eventually I burst into tears and say that I will just leave. She then FOLLOWS me into the hallway and I have to ask her again to please let me leave. I have to physically get into the elevator to get her to leave me alone. This is the worst experience I have ever had with ANY medical care provider in my life. I had a rough experience with my sleep study, but I know that can be common, so I never said anything about it. But out of the three total interactions I have had with this provider, two of them have been terrible. I will *not* go back to this clinic. I cannot recommend against this clinic enough. read more

Formost, please do not confuse this organization with Vancouver, WA's Pacific Sleep CENTER. The two are mutually exclusive and my experience has been that there are differences between the two that PSC gets lost in the dust. With that, I have an enormously positive review for PSP. I had two overnight studies done to trouble shoot decade's long sleeping issues. I cannot say enough about the two main players in my experience so far. Stev(ph?)en was a gem as my study tech. From the get go, he was professional but not at all stuffy. He is warm, amicable, good-natured, highly experienced, polite, and hilarious when I was able to get that part out of him. He has wonderful stories and has a constant air of really caring about his patients' comfort and wellbeing. I hope the staff has the knowing of his dedication to his job and value him as a cog of goodness in their inner workings of the team therein. Secondly, but certainly not second best; Dr. Breadan is amazing. Do not let all of those incredible capital-letter recognitions after her name (MD, MPH, DABMS, DABPM) intimidate you. She is sensitive, brilliant, warm, shows an amazing amount of empathy, and speaks in terms that can easily be understood. At the same time, I was not left with the impression that I spoken down upon as can frequently happen with doctors. The front end staff have patience, and are ready to help. Kim was attentive and went above and beyond when there was a problem with equipment. I have some serious issues and with the help given, I can honestly say that I have not felt strong, motivated, rested, or clear headed in so long. Longer than I can even remember I can say it now though. There are so many thanks I would like to give this organization and at the end of the day, please know you have made an extraordinary difference in one person's entire world! read more

This was once a pretty good program but has become a very poor program. Staff has become very condescending and seem to always blame problems on the patient yet they are the one's who seem to never be able to make the equipment perform as intended. Seems they are really more interested in the dollars than their patients now. My wife had gone here for years; she accidently got the wrong appointment time on her calendar and missed an appointment for the first time. She called to apologize and they set a new appoint only to receive a certified letter this last week telling her they would no longer be providing service. Do not recommend this place. read more

DO NOT GO HERE: This place is incredibly unorganized and incompetent. Nobody here knows what is actually going on. There is only 1 person running the billing department and she is never at work which means you can never communicate and are forced to leave a voicemail that will never be returned. The receptionist is the only one you will ever be able to talk to on the phone as nobody else will take calls. Everyone here (except the techs) has absolutely no pride in their company or regard for your health or care. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this company like the plague. read more
