I have been under the care of Dr Fromherz and Westside Sleep Center for several years, and the clinic provides a wonderful specialty service. Dr Fromherz is genius and got my sleep apnea under control with a "hack" or two. I use and they help work with Apria Healthcare as my sleep apnea supplies provider. Dr. Fromherz appears to be a very knowledgable doctor in his area and is very personable and thorough in his explanation of options for sleep disordered patients. Unfortunately, this is where the positive experience ends. Overall scheduling and support staff coordination needs improvement and resulted in wasted time and poor communication for follow-ups. Dr Fromherz treated me for over a year and diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and sold me a machine. I wasn't happy with how they ran their office, so I found a new doctor. My new doctor and sleep technician informed me of the required maintenance of replacement filters, hoses, etc. needed to keep the machine sterile and running properly. This was never explained to me from Dr. Fromherz's office. My new physician said my machine is not a known brand and tried contacting his office to find out where they purchased so they can order replacement parts and to download my sleep info, and his office told my new doctor they don't have that information! I'm now stuck with a knock off machine from China and my insurance won't pay for another one for five years. Beware of these practices! I tried calling myself and they are short staffed and sent to voicemail. read more

I can add to my review that we have had our 10 yr old (also diagnosed by Dr. Fromherz with severe apnea) tested by a pediatric sleep specialist who found no apneas. We are doing palate expansion to correct nasal restriction, orthodontia and treating seasonal allergies. Please go to a American academy of sleep medicine certified lab, not Fromherz lab. His own child is getting "intensive orthodontia" but not misdiagnosed like mine was with severe apnea. read more

The sleep clinic is great if you can get in or have someone answer the phone. my husband has been working with them on and off for a few years and it always seems impossible to get a hold of anyone. From billing to scheduling to the equipment department. I never can get anyone to answer the phone. We had an emergency a year and a half ago regarding his hose because we had surgery for inspire the following next couple days and still can never get a hold of anyone. I am now trying to get a hold of someone for billing questions because they set up automatic payment and they are still sending me a bill and I can't get anyone to call me back. As a business owner I just think that the doctor might want to know that his staff does not follow through on returning phone calls or answering the phone because you're not just a doctor but also run a business. read more

I live in Hawaii and my primary care physician could not recommend anyone locally, so I decided to try Westside Sleep since I was visiting my parents who leave nearby the center. I was very much impressed by the doctor, the facility, and the staff. Everyone was very professional, courteous, and friendly. I had a sleep study done and thought the study went as smoothly as possible and they made every effort to make it as comfortable as possible. I am pleased that even though I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, they are able to treat me even though I live across the ocean. I was also very pleased that they checked with my insurance beforehand and explained to me all of the healthcare ins and outs. This facility was amazing. The doctor was educated at Stanford and he's great at what he does! The technician was talented and I woke up to fresh coffee and a breakfast spread. The sleep study facility is far more comfortable than the other place I started at. Best part? They fixed my sleep problems! The folks at Westside Sleep Center are off the charts amazing. I'm in the middle of working with them and can't say enough good things. If you are in need of sleep related medical care, this is the place to go! What I would say sets them apart is they listen and they care. My journey through health issues has been full of doctors and staff who don't either listen, or if they do, don't care. When one chooses to work in healthcare they need to realize how important their work is to others lives and unfortunately most I have encountered have forgotten this. Exceptional care on every level! The staff is welcoming, helpful and kind. They return calls promptly and are diligent about getting any outstanding questions answered. Dr. Fromherz is extremely knowledgeable, kind and experienced! Equally as important is his ability to communicate and explain sleep abnormalities so that as a patient, I really understood the diagnosis. I came to him exhausted and not entirely sure if it was sleep related. He quickly got me set up for a sleep study and when the results showed severe obstructive sleep apnea his staff worked with my schedule to get me set up with a CPAP machine ASAP. One month later, I am well rested and have more energy than I have had in 10 years. He knows the ins and outs of dealing with insurance and provided cost-savings advice. The staff are friendly and the facility is nice. The list of attributes ends there. I was referred here by a neurologist friend of Dr Fromherz. After a home sleep study and in-lab study Dr F diagnosed me with severe sleep apnea. This seemed very strange to me as I was 28 years old, not overweight, and didn't snore. I believed him and purchased a cpap and tried for almost a year to get used to wearing it; they told me it was a matter of finding the right pressure. I never got used to it and it made my sleep so much worse. I got a second opinion from the Swedish Hospital in Seattle and a Dentist that specializes in apnea (jaw issues, etc). They completely contradicted what Dr F said. He had told me I had a small airway when in fact I don't. My second sleep study from Swedish confirmed I only had 5 non breathing events the entire night, nowhere near the 33 times an hour that Dr F said I had. When I requested my records from Westside I got a letter from Dr Fromherz explaining he was no longer liable for my care...convenient since it turns out I don't have what he diagnosed me with and can no longer return my cpap. If you are under his care and have any hesitation about your diagnosis get a second opinion! read more

For years, I experienced daytime fatigue, a run- down feeling, depression and a host of other problems. One day my physician asked if I had ever had a sleep study done. Well, no. The idea of sleeping in a strange bed while hooked up to a 100 wires was not my idea of fun. But, out of options, I decided to give it a go. Man I am glad I did. Turns out, I was experiencing 30-40 sleep interruptions PER MINUTE. After getting fitted for a CPAP, and getting used to the idea of using one, I am down to 1.5 per minute and wake up rested, and for the first time in years, not depressed. I've been going to Westside for a little over two years, and it has been a great experience. I have moderate sleep apnea, and used to wake every morning with a headache, and spend every day without the energy a human being needs to be productive and happy. Now, I sleep well, and start each day rested and energized. Dr. Fromherz and his staff are professional people who listen well, explain thoroughly without a trace of condescension, and have extremely positive attitudes. Calls are returned in an incredibly timely manner, and challenges are thoroughly dealt with. Learning to sleep with a c-pap can be difficult, but they are willing to do whatever it takes to make it possible. Dr Fromherz is a great doctor with an excellent A+ bedside manner. Plus he has sleep apnea too! He will describe in detail at the first visit in understandable language your condition (or potential condition) and will spend at least an hour with you on the first visit! He generally cares about his patients and I always know if I need help I can go back to see him. My ONLY negative is that can be months getting in to see him. Getting used to the masks is EXTREMELY difficult, but they will work with you to help you find something tolerable. They handle all the insurance red-tape, and have amazing follow up. My experience with Westside Sleep center was excellent. The staff were friendly, and Dr. Fromherz was kind, extremely knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care. My dad was in town from abroad and I wanted his sleep apnea treated. When Dr. Fromherz found out that he's a doctor, he extended professional courtesy and treated him for free. I hate to the grinch, but this place isn't as great as reviews claim it is. The people who have done reviews are most likely either employees of the sleep center or relatives of someone who works there. I've had sleep issues for a long time and my dr. recommended westside sleep center. I went and took home a very confusing and annoying take sleep test. I could barely move during the night and finally took it off. I went back a week later and was told they hadn't gotten enough information, so I had to do a sleepover test there. The room was cozy and nice, although I did not enjoy having a camera in there. Before bed they stuck a bunch of wires to my body and I went to sleep. I was sleeping comfortably until about 2 AM when the night time dr came in and put a nasal CPAP on me. That was terrible and after a bit she came back and gave me cpap where I could breath through both my nose and mouth. Two weeks later I got my Cpap machine and after a few days I started to hate it. My sleeping seems to have gotten a lot worse then it was before. I keep being told that I will get used to it but that doesn't seem to be happening. I plan on returning my machine very soon. It's obvious to me that all Sleepside is interested in doing is taking your money. I've been told that other sleep centers give you the option of having a Cpap or trying out a mouthpiece that really works. Westside did not give me this option. read more

Be sure to check with your insurance company before going here. I trusted them to do it for me and they said I would have no out of pocked expense. They told me I had to do a home sleep test because my insurance wouldn't cover the a sleep test done at their office. I talked to someone at their office and all they said was we're sorry and we always encourage patients to verify coverage themselves. Ultimately it is my fault for trusting what my doctor told me! read more
