This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a contractor. First, when I called for an estimate John actually called back. As I'm sure many of you know you make calls looking to get an estimate for work and you don't even receive the courtesy of a call back. That's not the case with John. After we receive the estimate we decided we wanted to go with JMK after reading the fantastic reviews. However, we did not have the funds and did not want to pay an additional charge to put the deposit on my credit card. When I reached out to John and explained the situation he put me on the schedule in good faith until I sent in the deposit. The work started on the day we were told it would start and ended on the day we were told it would end. Partway through the work I realized that John and I may have had a communication error with what I wanted and what he thought I wanted and when we discussed it he immediately corrected and promptly addressed my concerns. In all this was the best experience I've had with a contractor.

I thought the work was too much for one person to handle but Dwight continued slugging away for 13 hours and finished the work. The stones we had put on our front stairs were failing after 15 years and there were a number of bricks starting to break down on our over 40 years old house. Since we are a corner lot our home is exposed on 3 sides and a lot of snow, ice and rain damage occurs. I was very impressed by this very personable young man and the work ethics and diligence he showed. His professional attitude towards the work and his constant double checking the alignment of the stairs and bricks with levels assured me everything was being done of the highest quality.

Signed contract mid Feb. 2024, Job started March 1, 2024 Contractor asked for 50% down payment,…read moreworked for 6 days until March 8, told me he'd ordered the concrete and it was coming the next Monday so he needed another 40%, which I paid. He then ghosted me. Promises and timelines were made and broken. Little communication (he said he couldn't call me because he was in the states on family business.) I texted and emailed asking for updates but - nothing. After March 8th, he disappeared, leaving all tools in the elements, planks destroyed the grass, piles of dirt in 3 areas, rebar, wheelbarrows and wood strewn all over. After 2 months of living with an unfinished project and a disaster of a backyard, I pressed for a timeline for completion on May 11, 2024, otherwise I would assume he was not going to finish the job. He told me I was being demanding and that's not how it worked. His workers had come to the jobsite in running shoes, flip flops and no gloves. It's now May 12th, 2024, the Job is still not done after two and a half months so I'm forced to take him to small claims court. Stay away from this company. RUN!
