Alexis Lane, MD - An office that feels like home

Dr Lane and her staff are both incredible. I had tried two different Aptos med spas and had very…read moreunpleasant disappointing experiences. Both of those providers way overfilled my lips requiring second visits to dissolve (which really hurts!) my overfilled duck lips. Neither provider offered to refund any of my money - which was twice as much as Dr Lane. She is totally transparent with pricing, and let me know exactly what my options were and the costs prior to procedure. Most importantly, the filler and Dysport were painless with nearly zero bruising. She's an artist and a pro with amazing bedside manner and I had a wonderful experience with great results. Highly recommend

She made it sound like I could apply the consultation fee towards Botox. I called back and asked to apply it toward a product and they said "no". I wouldn't recommend her. I found someone else who can easily perform both surgeries, and they applied the 250 dollar consultation fee toward the surgeries. It's gauche to nickel and dime a person for a deposit when the Dr. is the one who is lacking in the confidence to do something as simple and as ordinary as what I was inquiring about.

Granted, it is very hard to find a good psychiatrist for some reason. And also granted, Dr…read more Gilbert did come up with the first medication that has ever truly helped me. But he only gets 3 stars because he failed in other aspects. He failed to recognize that I was having extreme anxiety and was only treating me for depression. In the middle of a horrible anxiety attack, he recommended that I go to the hospital. They gave me a low dose valium and I was immediately better. I think he should have recognized this as anxiety and perhaps tried some anti-anxiety meds before trying hospitalization. Personality-wise he seems somewhat cavalier. At least outwardly he does not seem to show any feelings or empathy. Perhaps this is not the most important quality-really what is needed is a good scientist, but it is extra hard when you are going through an acute, rock-bottom moment of crisis. Additionally, Dr. Gilbert is very expensive and does not bill insurance. That also means that he is not a participating provider for any insurance companies. Your half hour appointment will cost you $160 and he charges about $100-$200 for short forms that he has to fill out. Then he makes sure you have to come back every month and pay this amount. Ultimately I question the morality of doctors who do this. Clearly they are only interested in serving people with money.

I really like Dr. Gilbert as a…read moreperson, but unfortunately, his practice and methods of running his business are questionable. His office manager, Gaylia, runs the show there. She is unprofessional, rude, and does not look out for his patients best interest. You will not be able to get a hold of Dr. Gilbert and when she feels overwhelmed with her workload she takes it out on his patients. When you request a call back from him directly she makes excuses as to why he can not call you back. She answers all of his emails, calls, and text messages so you never get a direct answer from your Dr. She is not licensed to give medical advice yet will not allow you to talk to him. When you request your prescription to be filled she answers with "I will refill in the order I receive request I may not get to yours" then you start requesting your refill earlier and she responds with "you need to request the day before your due date" only to be given the same answer you got "I request in the order received I may not be able to get to yours" she is on a huge power trip. Again this is my personal experience but I know many others who feel the same way. When you finally do get to talk to Dr. Gilbert his response is that she has been with him for 25 years and he needs an office manager. He will never listen to your concerns or address it with her. This is the most unprofessional medical office I have ever worked with. I switched doctors, was able to get in right away, and already have my prescription refilled. I don't know why I waited so long to change doctors! I should have changed offices a long time ago. So this is a warning to future patients...if you want to deal with a doctor directly, be seen in a timely manner, have your prescriptions filled on time, be treated professionally and appropriately, then this is not the place for you because you will get none of that. Gaylia seems like she is overwhelmed as she is the only person who works for Dr, Gilbert. He has one employee. She is rude and does not care about your medical diagnosis. I would not suggest this medical office. Horrible quality of care!
