The first time, I did not request it, was not advised there would be a charge and as it lasted only a few hours, served no purpose. I called and spoke with the receptionist about it twice. The same bill was sent again so I deducted the disputed amount from my payment and included an explanation. The second instance happened in July. There was no strapping done. 2. Follow up: In addition to not receiving calls back regarding billing questions, I waited 2 months past the estimated date my shoe inserts were to have arrived last year. When I rang to inquire about them, I was told that had just arrived that day. Really? After each of my three visits, I was to have received a follow up call regarding items that came up during my consultation. In each instance, I waited over a week before calling the receptionist ask for a call back. No calls have ever been returned. 3. Insurance billing: I updated my insurance information at my last visit. The bill was incorrectly submitted to my previous insurance company. Upon receipt of the insurance company's notice, I rang the office and was told they had 'just' resubmitted it to the proper company that morning. Again; really? We'll see how that goes. My initial 2 visits were with Dr. Lerman. Due to his lack of responsiveness, I decided to see Dr. Wilhelm on my last visit as one of the issues with my feet has gotten worse. He did not agree with the diagnosis Dr. Lerman had given me. When I asked for insights as to why Dr. Lerman's diagnosis may have been incorrect, he brushed me off. I also inquired about having another type of shoe insert made. He didn't know what the options were and said he'd find out and call me. That visit was July 16. No call. I rang last week to follow up.....no return call. I hope to find a more responsive practice soon

I would have paid a deposit but I'm paying $1,200 a month for insurance right now and can't afford a deposit. Dr. Novick told me himself that he only cuts toe nails and does preventative care. Why didn't they tell me weeks ago instead of going round and round with my insurance. I didn't realize there was so many podiatrist in Santa Cruz County. I'll take my business elsewhere. If anyone is a current patient of hers, we'd love to know where she is practicing now. All her staff were fantastic in every interaction. Front desk staff are pleasant, professional, efficient, and up there with the best of any medical staff. Her team caring for patients also was excellent. We had had, unhappily, a large number of issues from toes to ankle and in between that had caused us pain and poorer health before we were lucky enough to be able to see her. Our walking and mobility limitations were maintained and even improved by her with every one of our many, many visits, over more than a decade of her dedicated and excellent care. We had seen a few other podiatrists over the decades for some major on minor procedures. One was good, and two made several errors. We were so happy to find a doctor who went the extra mile, so to speak. I would've given 5 stars, but I ended up going to her Physician's assistant one day for a recast. His cast was super lumpy, uneven and caused some major discomfort. I do not recommend going to anyone but Dr Halet because I ended up having to return the next day to get recasted again. Since I can't drive, it was tough for me to do, but I managed. This prob has less to do with Dr Halet and more to do with PAMF, but it affected my overall experience. I'm hoping he gets trained better.
