I just had a wonderful experience. Another company had come out and estimated $1400 for a clogged mainline. I called Pacific and she gave me an estimate and told me what might increase the cost and how much, under $500. CJ came out first thing this morning, took care of it and told us what the problem is that caused it. All for $225. He was polite as he efficient as was the person I talked to on the phone yesterday. I had an easy job that I decide to hire a plumber for. When I called to get an estimate of a quote, they told me that they couldn't tell me without being onsite first. I relayed that I knew what the issue was and that it's a pretty routine fix, so I asked for an estimate based off of how much other similar jobs were. They kept giving me the run around and stuck me with a huge bill after the job without any idea of what to expect as a cost. I will never use them again as a result. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE compared to other services that would have done it for less. I won't be using them again. I usually never leave reviews, but they clearly were giving me the runaround because they expected to overcharge me. A lesson for me is to know that if someone doesn't give you an estimate or at least be willing to give you a range, don't trust them. They appear to charge $275/hour for a plumber's labor. I can't imagine that the job would have taken that long, because I've done the same thing myself in 20minutes. So, I believe that they likely lied about the time that it took. read more

ZERO ZERO ZERO Stars. 100% NEVER RECOMMEND. Worse plumbing service I have ever used. THEY HAVE NO ISSUES CHEATING YOU AND CHARGING YOU. USE RESCUE ROOTER. They came out a few days later and fixed the job and gave it a 30 day warranty. Pacific was going to charge me $479.00 again to come out and look at it and try to fix it again. Called for an emergency service for Apartment units. Person on the phone quoted me $299 per hour in 1/2 hour increments after the first hour. I have my usual plumbing service I use, Rescue Rooter, but they were unable to come out this evening. I was reluctant but used Pacific. Plumber Chris came out, started using his camera, which at the time I was unaware was an extra charge but they never told me, but I will also not knock them because they ended up not charging me for it. Chris never could find the solution so he starts using the snake on the Washing Machine drain. Not to mention, the whole time he is asking me to run back and forth between apartments as more than one unit was effected by this clog. I was checking for water, turning on the faucet, helping him move things so he could work. At the end of the job, I was not there to see him test the water as I had to help out at another unit, I just trusted his word he completed it. We confirmed that he was there for less than 2 hours. He said he did not have his machine to charge me but said that it would be $1,000.00. I said you only were here for 2 hours, he said its emergency hours and they charge way more for that. I mention to him to invoice me the next day and he said he would. The following day, I get the invoice and thankfully it was not $1,000.00 but a little under $800.00. Most I was expecting was $600.00. They charge me for an extra half hour (2.5 hours) that he stayed on my parking lot to do paper work, okay. Also another note, tenant texted me the same morning and said issue was not solved at all and it was exactly the same. I speak with them the following day and express all my concerns and share that the issue WAS NOT resolved at all. The person on the call says, why didn't I mention anything right away, I said the tenant just reported this to me yesterday, I was busy so i am calling you today about adjusting the invoice and also the unresolved issue. Pacific will say one thing and it will be another thing. Person on phone was quoting one price and Plumber another. They will not tell you about hidden charges like using the camera. Their Plumber Chris did not know what he was doing and never solved the issue. Called to speak to their billing person, did not raise my voice once and she said I berated her, I wanted to but surprisingly stayed mostly calm. She also HUNG UP on me. Real professionals. I needed a simple replacement of hot/cold water faucet for my washing machine. They said they could replace it or, for $200 more ($750 total) put an insert in the wall. When the job was done they had made a hole in the wall much bigger than the insert and just shoved and screwed the drywall back in in pieces, with gaps and the insert not flush with the wall. They said that's how they leave it and one tech said he's been telling the company they should hire drywallers. I complained and they did end up hiring a drywaller to fix it, only because they hadn't put the condition they leave the wall in in my estimate. Once they fixed it I asked if they'll start repairing the drywall for future customers. They said no, it's up to the customers to fix. Apparently even with a simple replacement of the fixture they would have put a hole in my wall. Beware that if you don't want a drywall repair project on your hands, don't use this company. The second star is for doing the repairs, even though it was due to a technicality. read more

For nearly 15 years a friend has been our plumber and we had every confidence in his work. This year he is too busy with church responsibilities along with his day job and family life. While we completely understand the thought of finding another plumber was the true nightmare before Christmas. After seeking recommendations and checking on Yelp we decided to go with Pacific Plumbing. Perfectly glad we did. While their rates are higher than the friend's , the plumber arrive on time, clearly explained their prices per hour and went speedily to work. We noted and appreciate how fast and steadily he work. He had the two jobs done in just under 1 hours. The only complaint I have is with the company policy of no warranty for work done. I would have given a 5 star rating had there at least been a 30 day warranty. And as it turned out we did have to call this plumber back, he promptly scheduled a return, acknowledged that it was something he missed, fixed it, and at no additional charge. Because of weather they rescheduled me 3 times. I was accommodating, even though I didn't have hot water because I wanted others, who didn't have water to get service. I was able to get the hot water back on with a help of a handyman, but it was still needing full service, so they rescheduled me a week later. I was called and asked to reschedule again and I just couldn't do it this time. They said they would be out from 12-2pm. They didn't show and at 2:15pm, I called to ask why. They lied to me and and told me they left me a message (I had no missed calls, no messages) they would be seriously behind and I just needed to understand that. I asked if they could get a better idea of when the plumber would be out because I had meetings. They berated me acting like I was an issue because I wasn't accommodating them for the 4th and 5th time. While I was being told this, I explained that I cannot have my time wasted as my business meetings cannot be moved and its how I make money. They told me they were cancelling my service and I needed to find a new plumber. This customer service was appalling. They clearly do not care about their customers and have no problem kicking the can then finding solutions to help them. I have over 1M followers on multiple social media accounts and its all I can do not to post this to all of those accounts. Very disappointed and I am sad I have to write this today. read more

$93 bucks to unclog a drain !! Woo Hoo. Their ad doesn't mention that this only covers the first hour! They declared my drain fixed, took the money and scrammed! Had to call them back because the shower drain WAS NOT cleared! Had to work on it for two(2) more hours, so scarfed up $400 bucks from my wife when I was away. A pipe snapped at 2am this morning. Couldn't get water turned off it was pouring in the basement . Jess called 911 for me and the fire department couldn't get the water turned off . Called fire department back and they made Vancouver water come do a emergency shut off . They came out got water mostly off and at 7am Tyler came out found the problem fixed it . This company needs more than 5 stars in my book . Will always call them 1st. They also got Prestige Restoration out at 330 to clean up all the water it was a foot deep . I just had Patrick, from Pacific Plumbing and drain repair my leaking toilet. I've had a leaking problem for some time and several different plumbers, from different companies, attempt to fix this problem. Other plumbers recognized the problem, but basically only put a band-aid on the problem. They did that because quite a bit of manual labor was required to properly fix the leak. Well, Patrick didn't hesitate to do the right job, which required a lot of grinding and sweat equity. So in course of human events, eventually pipes break and play havoc with your walls. Pacific Plumbing and drain services was scheduled to do the replacement work by our insurance company. What should have been a relatively straight forward replacement turned out to be a bit more involved which is understandable, but length of repairs was drastically increased by the service we received from Pacific Plumbing and drain. TLDR; Overall, I cannot fault them for the 2 hours of work they did. I can fault them that it took them nearly 3 months to do it. They also need to come up with an excuse other than "we were just about to call you." The Story. The first technician came out on time as scheduled, but couldn't work on the pipe until the mold had been removed (understandable). So after having the mold situation fixed the tech came back, spent three minutes looking at the pipe, noted that the valve would need to be replaced and that he would have to order the part (totally fine). After a week, he returned with the part, but it turned out he ordered the wrong part (whoops). So he said they would order another valve. A week passed and I hadn't heard anything so I called to see if the part had come in. Apparently it had, and they were just about to call me and we scheduled a time to come out and replace the valve (oh. ok...). The day of the appointment Theresa called and said the tech was sick, and she would have to call me back to reschedule (ugh). So three days went by, no call. On the fourth day I opted to call them and guess what? They were just about to call me! (sure you were...) So this time, a new tech, David, came out. He said that he actually was one of the managers and was out do my valve replacement because the first tech had apparently gotten hammered and came into work that day and "made a scene". (not good) He replaced the pipe and the valve in about an hour. About 30 minutes later, I noticed one of the elbow joints and the connection between the valve and the shower arm were leaking. I called them back and Theresa said she'd see about having him come back the next day. The next day came and went, no call. So I called them again. And guess what?I must be psychic because THEY WERE JUST ABOUT TO CALL ME! (lies.) We scheduled a time. David came back and tightened the joint which stopped the leak. When the water was turned back on we noticed that there was a leak in a separate valve on another line. He wasn't sure what the valve was for but made a call to the office to confirm if it was covered or not. He said it was and that Theresa would call it into American Home Shield (AHS). I asked David if I needed to do anything, and he said Theresa would call me if I needed to call them and submit a new request. So, a week goes by, no call. So I called, and this time spoke to Jessica. She said she didn't know what was going on and would call me back. 10 points if you can guess what happened next. No call! (surprise! not really..) So I called her the next day. She transferred me back to Theresa who said that they had the part, but needed me to call AHS to get a new work order before they could do anything. So I called AHS, they put a work order through and I called Jessica back to let her know the work order was in. She said she would call me as soon as they had it. So, this time they actually called me back. A new tech came out this time. When he got here he didn't have a water key to turn off the water. So he had to leave and meet another plumber to get his key. While he was gone for that 30 minutes, I opted to familiarize myself with the written material for the valve they were replacing. I like to know a little about everything in my house so I can spot little problems before they turn into big problems. The tech returned and shut the water off and began to install the valve. As he was doing his work I noticed the valve was being installed on the wrong line (why did I have to notice this?) He opted to install it anyway and said he would come back to install it correctly and that I would hear back from Theresa by the end of the week. I didn't. I called AHS and they made a call on my behalf to the company. Guess what? They told AHS "They were just about to call me." The customer service rep at AHS said they would get back to me by the end of the day. They didn't. I called AHS again, they spoke to company again. They said they would call me back. AGAIN they didn't. Eventually I opted not to work with them and asked the work to be transferred to another company. read more

Thoughtful and caring! I am so happy and so grateful for Pacific Plumbing and Drain. On Friday, I lost grip on an important piece of family jewelry down my bathroom drain. I found Pacific Plumbing and Drain on yelp and thought...I have nothing to lose. I spoke with Erin on the phone and she was wonderful, caring, just the person you'd hope would pick up in this type of situation! She worked with the owners to create a plan and Jon came out today. I showed him the lay of the land and he started to work. He was patient as I watched over his shoulder as he waded to years of gunk and build up...carefully examining each lump for a bit of shine. It wasn't in the drain and he suggested we could go down to main catch for my building, but the reality was that even if we did locate it from there, it would be a very expensive project of digging and pushing. At that point I decided it wasn't worth the expense. Jon did not give up. As he was examining the sink one last time, he said he saw something, that he just couldn't believe---my jewelry was stuck in the overflow hole! It hadn't even made it to the trap. All I can say is I had a pipe break on a sunday evening water everywhere and only a outside shut off. The outside shut off shut the water off to the whole house. So the clock is ticking in a large house hold people need the bathroom, I checked Angie's list and everyone on there either didn't answer there phone or they were absorbently priced btw only two people answered there phone from Angie's list. So easily 13 calls later I reached Pacific Drain which has 2 locations portland/vancouver the lady who answered the phone was very nice and I asked there emergency price which was a better price and she said she would get someone out within 90 minutes. They did what they said and sent Billy Cummings. He saw the problem and offered me the option of doing the least amount of work just so he could come back at the better price for me which was almost half off. I appreciated that because in a emergency you can end up paying money that you may not be able to afford. Billy was sensitive to the fact that I was definitely working with a budget. He came back the next day and completed the job at a much better price, I have had him back twice just to have him fix plumbing in my other bathroom so I don't have to worry. He even fixed the hinge on my broke cabinet door. These folks are my plumbers from now on. I highly recommend them they seem to be trustworthy and kind, and I need people that I can trust and there customer service is exceptional. read more

Poor work, dishonest employees. They were hired by a warranty companyto do a diagnosis, never performed a diagnosis because they did not feel comfortable doing a diagnosis due to the pipe being PVC, and told the warranty company that they did do a diagnosis and that the hot water heater was fine. I ended up having to pay an additional $75 to the warranty company to have another company come out, perform an actual diagnosis and replace. It was breached. How did they not catch that. Had they just been honest with the warranty company and said they didn't feel comfortable doing the repairs the warranty company would have just dispatched another compan and saved me $75. So it was the morning of my annual Christmas Party when my garbage disposal dies! I was hosting a very fancy dinner in just a few short hours and of course it was the weekend right before Christmas! I called a number of plumbers that I found online, all of which claimed to have 24-hour emergency services. No one answered and worse than that, none called back after I left a message. Not only did Pacific Plumbing and Drain Services answer as soon as I called, the secretary said that I would have someone at my house in 2-3 hours! David came to the rescue in 2.5 hours and I had a new garbage disposal installed in 20 minutes flat! He knew I was hosting a party very shortly and was so conscientious about the cleanup as well! PPD was contracted to do a job at our apartment complex, they never showed up when they were suppose too, they were very unreliable and were in breach of contract several times, the work was incomplete and caused several tenants to miss work and lose wages. The guys that were sent out were rude and very very unreliable. The work that should have been completed in an hour took all day. I have been in my place of residents for several years. Never have I witnessed such lousy service. I think the company needs to pay the wages of those of us who had to miss work for no shows and lousy service. read more
