Our guides, Teo and Nick, were fantastic--clearly experienced, highly professional, and excellent at balancing safety with a great sense of adventure. They gave clear instructions, made everyone feel comfortable on the water, and brought a relaxed, friendly energy to the trip that helped calm any first-time nerves. And then there's Jesse Bean, the company's resident water rescue dog. While we didn't need rescuing (thanks to our skilled guides), knowing Jesse was on standby, complete with her own life vest added a charming and unexpected highlight to the day. Every rafting company should have a dog like Jesse Bean. The Skagit River is breathtaking: cold, clean glacial water, surrounded by dense Northwest greenery and mountain views. The mix of calm stretches and exciting rapids made it ideal for beginners like us, but I imagine experienced rafters would enjoy it just as much! All in all, Cascadia Rafting offers an extremely well-run and memorable experience. Whether you're new to rafting or a seasoned paddler, I highly recommend this team. Thanks again to Teo, Nick, and, of course, Jesse Bean for an unforgettable day on the river!

So our guide had to get out of the raft couple of times to push the raft out of rocks. in between the River Rafting adventure, we also got out of our raft to do a short hike to the water fall. We also got our pictures taken there as well. Each raft could only hold a maximum of 6 people + the guide. Lunch was included in our adventure. It costed $125 to go River Rafting but it included the wetsuit, lunch and other gears. Also they posted pictures of our River Rafting session on Facebook for us to download. We also had the option to pay $30 for a USB with all photos loaded on it. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely come back. I am thinking of next time doing Kayaking. Also for River Rafting its better to go in June (I was told).

My friends haven't done the Canyon one so it was new to them. They loved it as it was even more challenging and had more dips and rapids. I sat in the front of the raft with another friend, Lee. We got hammered by the big splash of water whenever our raft would dip down over the rocks and rapids. Our guide this time was Sam, he was great and funny. My friends can be a little 'excited' so I'm glad he was able to play along with their antics. The weather was insane yesterday. It was sunny when we drove there from Vancouver however by the time we got changed and started to take the bus to the starting point, it was snowing. Yes, that's right. It was snowing. When we got into the raft and while Sam was explaining the commands, it turned to hail and then rain. The first part of rafting, it was raining. By the time we finished, it was sunny so we had 4 seasons of weather. It made for an even better experience. There were only 2 rafts this time. Last time I went, there was 8 rafts. With only 2 rafts, it was better and more personable as we are able to joke around a bit more. They have a small sauna shack so when we got back, we basically went there to warm up. Again, I recommend coming here for rafting.

The trip was led by Paul with Alex as his assistant. It was a family of 4, the raft flipped and the father and son died and the mother and daughter survived. Many aspects of that rafting trip raise very serious questions about how things were handled before, during and after the accident by Paul and Alex. The local authorities should have looked into it more carefully than they did. It was a tragedy that should not have happened and a very strong argument can be made that it was not just a freak accident or bad luck.

If you want to raft the Noocksack, have fun, and stay alive, DO NOT RAFT WITH WILD AND SCENIC. Use…read moreone of the other outfitters in the area that have strong safety standards and longstanding records of integrity and professionalism. Of course whitewater rafting has risks, but using an organization with a commitment to safety will get rid of the risks that no one willingly takes with their family's lives. The owner and guide Paul has a reputation in the industry and surrounding area as someone who best case has an unstable personality which shows up as treating customers poorly (including yelling at them and being critical) to worst case being someone who is so egocentric and cavalier that his negligence contributed to the deaths of two of his customers in June 2022. In the accident in question, among many other concerning issues, Paul and Alex did not provide a thorough safety briefing even though they said they would, Alex was not in the standard position downshore of the client's raft that would have made him able to help with the needed rescue, and neither guide had a a way to contact emergency personnel when the raft capsized. No emergency services were contacted for two full hours following the raft capsizing with 2 people missing- 911 records (publicly accessible) are evidence that no help was summoned sooner. The press about the accident was inaccurate; the other two family members self-rescued out of the water and were left on the shore isolated from each other for long enough that they were both nearly hypothermic when finally retrieved by Paul and Alex. Despite her being in shock and traumatized by having nearly drowned and not knowing where her family members were, Paul yelled at the mother in the family when she asked for clarification for how to get back into the water and be towed to "safety" by a rope that Paul threw to her. Even before the accident, Paul had yelled at multiple family members on the short trip. The family's mom is haunted to this day by the fact that one of the last things that her husband ever heard in his life was Paul yelling at him because he did something "wrong." And Paul made her 10-year old son almost start crying when he yelled at him about how he was paddling, which is one of the last memories she will ever have of him. This family didn't know all this about Paul in time to avoid a horrific tragedy, but now you do! Do the right thing for yourself and your loved ones and raft with someone else.
