After getting 1-2 gallons per hour from our well we called Well Company 1 who sent a technician out…read moreand determined that our pump was fine but our well was not producing enough water and that we needed to drill a new well. They stated that they were so busy that they could not drill a new well for 5-6 months. So we called Well Company 2, who sent out a technician who made the same determination and stated that they also could not put in a new well for many months. Neither company would quote us a date and did not call back, but did charge us for their assessment. We finally called Hansen Drilling and stated that we needed a new well drilled despite knowing that they were super busy like the other well companies. They sent us a quote, gave us an estimated date, and added us to their list of future projects that they work their way down in the order they receive the request. They sent out Mark B. who came out, looked at the well report and did some diagnostics. He determined that our pump was probably at the static water level and that we possibly had 225 feet of well depth below where the pump had been set. We had a pump company come out and lower the pump 147 feet and now have great water volume and pressure. Mark saved us more than $15,000 between the cost of a new well and the cost of lowering the pump. We also have water 2-4 months sooner than having to wait for a new well to be drilled. Mark is excellent and the best and most experienced technician and diagnostic expert that we have known in the 33 years that we have been on a well. Hansen Drilling does things the right way and is the most professional company in the business in this area.

Do not use!!!! Terrible service!!! Had an issue with the pump coming on every 8 minutes. That meant…read morethe tank was draining 40 gals of water every 8 minutes. I called Mather which installed the pump in 2005 as I thought that the check valve was faulty. They sent a field man out and he checked the check valve and said the pump system was ok. My problem was that leaking 40 gals of water every 8 minutes will leave a real mess. I could not find a leak anywhere along the short run of line to the house and barn. I called them back after searching for the leak to ask some questions. After three days of talking to the receptionist and she telling me that someone would call and no one did, I called Leak Detectives. They came out and stated that the water was leaking back into the well through the pipe or check value, the outside lines where OK. I then called Mather's again as I had paid them 155.00 for the first call out. I was told by the receptionist stated that she would contact scheduling and get back to me. After a day and not hearing anything and with being out of water for almost a week I called another pump service. They were on the property within an hour and two hours later fixed the problem at a fraction of the price quoted by Mather. Poor, poor, poor service.

I had called another very popular company though they didn't get back to me until days later. This company's response was immediate. Brian, Drilling and Pump Tech is very bright and misses nothing. For instance, the standing water on the ground, off the porch, was an underground broken pipe, who knew? Brian did. Several neighbors thought it was just low ground and they were going to dig a trench. Brian wasn't here but for a few moments when he dug down with his shovel and there was a knee-deep water hole from the broken pipe. Then he tapped on the tank, showing me it was water logged {had a broken bladder too}. He did a complete inspection of the entire system from top to bottom. Soon after, he returned replacing everything that was broken: the old pump motor, pipes and tank in just a few hours! This guy is a genius; answering all questions, honest, very hard working and kind too. Customer Service is excellent, {thank you Liz!} and I know I got the best of the best company, ever. Our well ran dry 7 times in less than a year, a pump burned out, and they only worked on behalf of one of us. Again, I generally like the staff, but Jim has contributed to our nightmare situation with a neighbor who blames everyone except their own leak. We've moved to a different service provider. There are other options who will be more open with everyone impacted.

WARNING : DO NOT HIRE M&M WELL DRILLING…read more I purchased a property in March 2021 that less than 6 months prior to the purchase had a well drilled on the property by M&M. The well, according to the well log, had a yield of 15 GPM at 320 ft. depth. Shortly after acquiring the property, I was informed by M&M that they failed to meet the state requirement for the area for casing depth. Consequently, M&M had to remove the 150' casing from the well and put in a new casing down to 220' depth. Upon completion of installing the new casing, I had a pump test performed. The well produced 12 GPM for about 15 minutes and then went completely dry. The prevailing speculation is that the actual water source was coming from just below the original casing, and when the new casing was installed to meet the state depth requirement, the water source was sealed off. When I informed M&M that the well was producing no water, the owner, Mike Merritt, told me he would work with me and make the situation right. What he came back to me with was a proposal to either extend the depth of the existing well or drill a new well, either way at a cost of fully 2.5 times what he originally charged the original land owner to drill the well in the first place. Similar problems were being experienced on the neighboring property's well that M&M also drilled. The supposed 15 GPM from that well, according to the original well log, was actually producing only 1.5 GPM, requiring a storage tank to be added to the system just to barely provide adequate water to the house, and not adequate for any significant landscaping irrigation. The conclusion is that M&M does not know what they are doing. They are very unreliable in performing the work, and do not stand behind their work when it goes wrong. I would strongly recommend steering clear of this well drilling company. Their website claims, "Well Drilling With Integrity!" Just below that claim is a box to click on to connect with M&M on Facebook. This link has been removed, and when I search for M&M on Facebook, they are no longer found. I cannot help but assume they were getting too much bad press on Facebook so they deleted their account.
