They were late for starters, 9 am appointment and we weren't in the door until 9:10. We weren't the only patients waiting. Thus none of the stations were ready. If they have creature comforts for kids they weren't out and the staff wasn't bringing them out, to the point of they couldn't find the remote for the overhead tvs that help keep the kids distracted. They refused to find the remote so no distraction for my kid. When Alex showed up he had no patience and tried to force his way into her mouth. I asked him to stop so I can console and get my kid to relax but he ignored me ( I would give benefit of the doubt but his assistant heard me and she was further away. I know because when I said stop she pulled back). I had to physically grab his shoulder. No one like touches so I understood his irritation at that but my concern was with my kid. He states that if she can't handle this then he wouldn't be able to go forward with the procedure. I asked for a little more detail so I could talk my kid through the process and it turns out that he was about to perform a procedure that we hadn't confirm!ed The office had messed up the paperwork and put down the wrong thing for the wrong day and person. At this point my irritation level is high so I questioned the professionalism of the establishment. He wasn't happy that I called out the multiple failings of this office that morning and we were asked to leave. I asked the women on staff if I was wrong for protecting my daughter. Why couldn't they take the time to find the remote to distract a little girl from the sounds of drills and suction which can be scary for a kid. They were already late so what's another couple minutes? Why rush my daughter and then get upset because she needed a little reassurance? It's hard sometimes to not believe that our mistreatment wasn't because of our skin tone. In honor of AAPI month I won't say that I will never go to another Asian dentist or doctor again but I know I did the right thing in protecting my daughter from Alex Jhang!!

I initially went in for a cavity filling, which later turned into a root canal per Jhiang's suggestion. I got referred to an endo to complete the root canal. Endo I got referred to was actually a general dentists, and could not perform my root canal. I was without any help from the receptionist who suggested and drafted my referral, and forced to find an endo on my own to finish the root canal that was already started!! Again -- i went in for a filling!! It took weeks and I was left in great pain. Now here I am six months later ready to purchase my crown and I've been informed that dr.Jhiang has "dismissed" me as a patient since January 2023. If that was the case, why was I getting texts that I was due for a cleaning? Keep in mind I've had no prior issues with this office except for the receptionist, Berta, who was rude and unhelpful with the referral process. She not only gave me a referral to a location that could not even operate on me, but did not aid in finding any other options. She was extremely rude despite me being in deep pain, and I had to find my own provider to finish the job this location couldn't complete. I was not given an explanation for my dismissal except that I missed two appointments -- I was unaware of this "policy" and I think if this office is going to make patients lose their dental providers, a warning would be nice!! AsDr. Jhiang has been nothing but exceptional, his receptionist Berta makes simple processes difficult, is extremely unhelpful and it's clear her biases have now resulted in me being dismissed by my dentist of three years -- still without my root canal treatment complete!! Wow!! If this is how Dr. jhiang's practice will treat long term patients, as even I've brought my mother to this location to receive cosmetic work done out of pocket! The lack of hospitality, communication and flexibility is ridiculous here. Glad to be gone. At least their receptionists are no longer pocketing cash payments like was occurring in 2021. I stayed through that mess just to be "dismissed" Never even heard of that. Will be finding an alternate site.

    On May 8, 2025 I came in to get a root canal from Peter R Vandersloot. This was my first root canal…read more(hopefully my last *fingers crossed*) and I was in a lot of pain the weeks leading up to my appointment. The tooth needing the root canal was the second to last on the bottom right side (I forget the tooth number) but it had gotten to the point that I was taking Moltrin 3-4 times a day just to keep the pain manageable. If I didn't take meds before bed, I was sure to be awakened with throbbing pain, enough to have you questioning the point of eating candy ever again! Anyways, long story short, I came in to this office and the staff was very warm and kind to me. Peter was very helpful in educating me about the procedure and what I could expect throughout it afterwards. He's really a magician in the sense that he debunked all my pre root canal fears around the pain and how it would be the most excruciating experience I'd ever go through. The only pain I felt throughout the procedure was when I received the needle injection for numbing the area and nerve. Other than that, I felt no pain and by the time he was finished, I was shocked that it was all over. It took no more than 1 hour start to finish. He's really someone I wish I could go to for any dental issue because his conversation is awesome and he's so well informed. A true professional in every sense of the word and his team of professionals that assist in the procedure were amazing as well. This place is like a small private practice, not like going to a giant dentist location with a bunch of chairs and rotating dentist. They are exceptional in their ability to resolve root canals and in the process educate clients so they are more aware of the business of dental work. I left there understanding who I should get insurance with, what types of dentist I should get work done with as well as how to sift through yelp reviews to identify honest reviews over fabricated ones. As you can imagine, there's a bunch of dentist offices with reviews that are very basic and are there to just give the 5 stars in hopes of improving the businesses overall rating. If you need a root canal done, don't waste your time going anywhere else. This place has got you covered. Thanks again Peter & Staff! It's been over a month and the pain I felt prior to my visit with you has never returned.
