PCS is one of those small, personable firms that is willing to give you a chance even though you might not have the most shining of resumes. I had first tried Robert Half, but found myself discouraged when I was treated as a compilation of quantifiable qualities. I wouldn't let the testing at PCS discourage you. These formalities are, for the most part, expected of staffing agencies by the organizations who use them. Rather, I would suggest taking on as many assignments from PCS as possible, and giving your staffing reps the chance to really get to know you so that they can vouch on your behalf. It certainly worked for me, and it also gave me the chance to sample a diversity of work environments in the Bay Area through PCS. As with any job hunt, you'll have to be patient and persistent, but if you are, Pete and Debbie will put you on the path to furthering your career! The size of a staffing agency is definitely important as well for increasing your chances of allowing your more personable qualities (which employers value as well) shine through. At a slightly larger staffing agency, you might meet reps who are disengaged from their jobs and seem to be pushing more for candidates who represent a "quick sale" for their agency. However, at PCS, I definitely felt that Debbie made an attempt to understand my personality and work ethic, and to convey these to potential employers. read more

For my experience with PCS as an employee I placed a review on 6/4/2008. For this review, I'd like to focus on my experience with them as a client. I work as the departmental admin for a 129 person department. I deal with vendors day in, day out addressing problems with billing, services and the confusion that sometimes results from having 33 sites that all bill separately. I know that if something in the interaction between my company and Pacific Coast Staffing isn't smooth? I can pick up my phone - call them and get an immediate response. The PCS staff are very good with checking in with us about the quality and performance of the temps they send. They're very accurate when they describe the skill levels of the temps. And have consistently sent us people who get the job done. I know that my company has bought out temps from them and integrated them into our staff. As a client, I can say that they consistently meet my needs. I wish I could customer service like theirs from some of my other vendors! read more

Spring of Pacific Coast Staffing and its managers were exceptional in finding me permanent work. I had just started to look around 11/07. I remember so well when I sent her the email, she responded in half of a second, I was so impressed. Afterwards she placed me at a great firm for temping. After that she asked me to interview at Pond North. I did and I loved the office manager and the firm. So, thereafter she contacted me and said "Pond North" wants you. I was on another assignment and she asked me "when can you start"? I told her immediately. She phoned me back and said they want to start you the next day. I was so happy and I continue to be happy. This is the perfect job I have been looking for. I want to thank Spring and her staff. They are all awesome. I would immediately refer someone to Spring. She is a delight and I truly appreciate her efforts in getting me tje perfect job at a wonderful firm. read more

Pacific Coast Staffing was my first agency that I've ever went to. I've always been skeptical about going through an agency to look for a job just because they never really find what you're asking for or you just simply never hear from them again after the first interview. When I first met Pete DeGracia, He was very nice and made me really comfortable. Pete and Spring made sure they were going to find what I was looking for and not to just send me to every job that was available. The firm that I'm currently at, I love it here and the people here is wonderful. Couldn't have asked for a better place to go into work every morning. Thanks to Pete, Spring and Debbie, I'm at a place that I look forward to going to work everyday. At PCS, they are the nicest people you'll ever meet and they will help you in every way. I would highly recommend PCS to anyone out there looking for a job. PCS will take care of you. read more

I have worked closely with Spring for the past year for my legal recruiting needs. When I initially met her, she took the time to get to know me, my law firm, and what I look for in employees -- she cared. She is very selective in the candidates that she sends me. If I had a nickle for every time an agency flooded my Inbox with resumes of candidates that don't come close to fitting my needs, I'd be rich and retired. Not the case with Spring. I have very high rate of hire through PCS; more so than any other staffing agency in SF that I use. When I put in a job order with PCS, I get resumes of candidates within the day. I also use PCS for temporary secretary needs and have always received good candidates, some of which have been considered for full time, permanent positions. I've never been disappointed with PCS, and that's a lot for me to say as I'm very particular and demanding in what I want. read more

I highly recommend this staffing agency to anyone who is really serious about finding work. Around the time I had inquired with Pacific Coast, I was also working with 2 other agencies who never took the time to call me. Unlike Pacific Coast, my direct recruiter who went by the name of Debbie Chow contacted me on a weekly basis and she STAYS ON TOP OF THINGS! She is really one of the best recruiters I have ever had the fortune of working with. She assigned me an interview, a couple of temp. projects and finally found me a company that I totally enjoy working at. She really takes care of you, she also has an impeccable sense as to how to pair the right person with the right company which I can't say for most recruiting agencies. 4 STARS. Go to Pacific Coast and look for Debbie Chow, SHE WILL FIND YOU A JOB THAT YOU WILL ENJOY! read more

I currently work over at Sony Pictures Entertainment in Los Angeles. Pacific Coast Staffing helped me land the job by training me to work in a corporate office environment. When I was in graduate school at the AAU in San Francisco, a friend recommended their staffing agency. Debbie Chow represented me on all of my assignments. She made sure that once a temporary assignment ended, I transitioned quickly into another. Alot of agencies make you hound them in order to find another position. I made sure to represent the company well on each assignment and they in turn treated me with respect. Through PCS, I was able to land a variety of corporate positions which helped me to figure out where I wanted to be after graduation. So thank you PCS for all of your help! I highly recommend you stop by when you are in my area :-) read more

I must say I had a wonderful experience with Pacific Coast Staffing. A friend put me in touch with Pete De Gracia last year and I can say it was the best move I made professionally speaking. Upon first interviewing with Pete, he understood I was only seeking full time positions and exactly the kind of career change I was hoping to make. The entire team at Pacific Coast did a great job of keeping me in the loop and only sending me on interviews I was genuinely interested in. After a few months I landed a great job and have been here now almost a year. If you have a clear idea of what you want and what you are looking for - Pete and his team only enhance your network and give you an extra boost in such a competitive market. I strongly recommend them after having such a positive and personal experience. read more

Pacific Coast Staffing placed me at a job that I have held for about eight months now. After about two months at this job I was hired on as an employee. Several other people at this job also came to it through PCS. Their view of this company and mine seem to be the same: that it is a good place that gets you jobs quickly, with pleasant people running it. I went in to their office, was greeted by nice, friendly people, and took a computer test. Then I met with Debbie, who was also nice and friendly. Compared to some other temp agencies I've dealt with, this was the smoothest, simplest, and most easy to deal with. It also was the most successful. I never have had any problems with them, so I think I can recommend them to you. read more

PCS is a great staffing firm. I originally started using them in 2004, wanting to do temp 2 temp positions at first to see what was out there. They placed me into some pretty influential organizations in the city. I took a break from them for a little bit (6 months) and went back to them in 2006. They got me into a position with a boss who had no personality, I needed a bail out quick! (It wasn't their fault) I called Pete, and he and Debbie got the ball rolling; scheduling the interviews during my lunch and within a two block radius. I interviewed for a great company and within 3 days time I had put in my notice. Now I am very happy camper. If it weren't for them, I would still be toiling in misery. read more

It's a pleasure to work with Pacific Coast Staffing. They take the time to screen applicants for quality and skills that match up to prospective employers. I like that they gave a persona touch to their service, working directly with both candidate and employer. Using his knowledge and expertise, Pete worked with me to polish my resume to best highlight my skills and experience. I feel he accurately represented e to prospective employers. I was so pleased with the service and placement by Pacific Coast Staffing that as the hiring manager, I have used them to successfully find qualified candidates. I would recommend PCS to persons who have the skills and interests to succeed. read more

It might have been serendipity, but the first time I came in someone called looking for a temp worker while I was interviewing with Debbie Chow--and she hooked up me with the job right away! Can't get much more efficient than that, I'd say. Since then, I've done several short stints through these guys, and they've all been exactly what I was looking for. Pacific Coast Staffing knows what they're doing, and they're super friendly and helpful. I've been made aware of a number of temp-to-hire positions, too, but I'm in school so the purely temp spots have been fine. I really couldn't be happier with this company. read more

Pete and Debbie (and Spring) will find you a job. It might be with a cool non-profit company or even a small biz. They don't just work for big corporate clients, which is nice because working as a temp at a smaller place makes you feel like part of the team from day one. I was always treated like a professional and their office is easy to get to via BART. I focused exclusively on short-term (days, a few weeks) assignments, as at that time I was not ready to work a full-time job. And they somehow always found good places for me to work. Definitely include PCS as part of your job search. read more

PCS and Pete DeGracia are fabulous. They have placed several of my employees. What I like the best is they test their candidates and based on that testing they really choose the right person for the right position. The people they placed in my business are happy at in their jobs and well suited for them there for stay with their job for years. I have sent many friends that are looking for jobs and they have been placed very successfully in new positions. They are great with temporary positions as well as with permanent hires. read more

Spring at PCS is the best! She kept me employed at temp. jobs in SF at very high-end law firms while she searched for and found me a permanent job in Silicon Valley at an international law firm. (The best part is that I could have permanently stayed at either of the two firms I was temping at in the City). She has always been pleasant to the people I have referred to her. Always friendly, always professional, always a go-getter. I love Spring and the staff at Pacific Coast! Three Cheers for Pacific Coast Staffing!!! read more

About 2.5 years ago I was placed in a temp to perm position with Pacific Coast Staffing. I hadn't been working for awhile so I was quite anxious. Debbie Chow made me feel comfortable right away by her innate ability to "meet me where I was" and to listen. She presented me with several opportunities but never placed pressure on me to accept them. I have worked with other staffing agencies in the past that have made me feel judged or just like a number but not this one. I highly recommend Pacific Coast Staffing! read more

I was placed about 5 years ago in my current job by Pacific Coast. They do a great job at helping all levels of candidates find and keep local Bay area jobs. Very friendly and personable! I would highly recommend them as a temp agency to any business looking to hire. We currently use them as our prime employment agency and we're always impressed with the candidates. Pete, Debbie and Spring have a knack for finding us ideal employees and very helpful at locating the right people for our company. read more

I am in the active roster of Pacific Coast Staffing and have been registered with them since my move from New York in 2002. Of all the Placement Agencies I have done business with, PCS is the most responsive and I have enjoyed working with their staff. They are professional, warm, and I have had enjoyable temping gigs with them. I almost always get a spot, and that is probably also because I am their "favorite" (LOL)! They, too, are mine. I highly recommend using PCS! MRM read more
