Our contact person Jessica has been on point updating us every step of his recovery. We are simply speechless at the marvelous care he has received, and how much improvement he has made, since he began his recovery journey. I thank every single staff member that has made my uncle's stay comfortable. On behalf of our family we highly recommend Santa Cruz Post Acute for all your recovery needs.

She…read morewas transferred from a Monterey hospital after femur surgery to receive physical therapy and become strong enough to return home, but instead her condition declined under their care. During her stay, she lost a considerable amount of weight, and although her surgical wound had healed, she developed bed sores on the bottoms of her feet and lower back that were not properly communicated to us (the family.) We witnessed isolation, rough handling, poor hygiene, poor communication, and lack of compassion. The food was poor, and staff often took a very long time to respond, sometimes hours. She was also frequently in a very deep sleep during the day, which raised concerns about possible overmedication. Her clothes went missing, staff would turn off her cell phone, and with her TV not working, she was left even more isolated. Vulnerable patients deserve dignity, attentive care, hygiene, and transparency with family. That was not our experience. Sally

Every Safe at Home worker that sat with my mother was caring and professional. Sometimes our schedule would change unexpectedly, and Safe at Home was very accommodating about adding or subtracting shifts, or working oddly-timed shifts. I have nothing but positive comments to say about their professionalism and service. It was a "crisis" time for us, and it's great to know that there are such wonderful people at this company, able to step in and provide the ongoing assistance for our loved one that we ourselves could not provide. Thank you, Safe at Home, for all that you did for us.

Thank you to her, as well as Mirna, Leticia, and Dennyse! They learned gin rummy & poker to play with him! Other than those great ladies, I so appreciated Luisa's willingness to work with us when his situation changed (sometimes in a day!) I found her to be a quick communicator which is SO important. THANKS TO ALL. Oh, and as a PS, my 92-yr-old dad can be an absolute bear - including growling - so their patience and persistence were invaluable.

But when I was taken back to be examined by the doctor, I dropped my check-in stickers down the chair. Since I was I. The ER from a fall, suffering a broken hand and fingers (my hand being deformed)- I could not reach down comfortably with my opposite hand. Anyhow I asked a nurse to assist me. She initially ignored me (assumed the best and thought she hadn't heard me)- so I asked again. She said rudely and with attitude- I'm sure they'll print you more. I said I under that but these have all my in, may you please assist me. She huffed. And did nothing. So I was struggling to get them. So I stood up and inquired with another nurse, who said, "Just wait"- - then the doctor came in and the first gal got them and threw them on the chair as she looked me dead in the eye! I've never been in so much pain and treated so poorly! Then after seeing the doctor who ordered pain meds and X-rays. Sent me next door to await some pain meds. That nurse said don't sit there and pointed across the way. Once seated she said you can come back or just sit there that's fine as she rolled her eyes and made a sye- UGH!!!
