We reached out to University Art in Redwood City and were referred to Stephen. He requested detailed information and even photographs of the pieces in order to quote a price. His price was in line with the San Francisco provider. He came to our house arriving on time at 8 am. He is exacting in his work and has a good eye. He finished mid-afternoon, earlier than anticipated primarily, he said, because we knew what we wanted. We were very pleased with his service and are pleased to recommend him.

After struggling to get my furniture warranty to pay for a damaged couch, Bay Furniture Restoration…read morewere a dream to work with. They were kind, prompt, professional, and affordable. They repaired a three-piece sectional that had a broken frame. They did a free in-home consultation first, and were extra cautious under covid conditions. Once identifying that they could fix the couch, they gave me a quote on the spot and left me to think about it. No pressure to work with them, no fees before service. They picked up the couch on a Monday and returned it on Friday. The work has been of good quality and made the couch feel brand new. I was happy to have supported a local family-owned business. Next time, I'm not even going to bother with the warranty service!

I dropped off my buffet and coffee table to be refinished in August of 2024 and the work wasn't completed until February of 2025. SEVEN MONTHS of ignored and unreturned messages. I dropped by unexpectedly in December and was told the owner had fallen behind on his work. In February I got a message that my furniture was ready for pickup. The coffee table was well done but the buffet was not. There were sections that had not been refinished, areas that were rough and not sanded and discolored, and areas that had been patched but the finish didn't match the original color so you can see the repairs. A broken brass pull was supposed to be replaced but instead it was glued, which didn't work and there was glue on the buffet. They promised to send me a pull but never did and I had to buy the pull on Etsy. I was definitely not expecting such unprofessional and indifferent treatment. It was very disappointing. They use Square for payments and charged me their 3% service fee. Very disappointing. I cannot recommend this business.

I have a oil painting that I purchased three years ago and it had issues that I did not see fully…read morewhen I bought it. The paint has been chipping off a bit since then, and I finally bit the bullet to find someone to repair it. I found David here on Yelp. I liked that others wrote reviews on his repair work. He is a master at his craft, so don't expect it to be done in a hurry as quality work takes time. There were chips in the upper middle of the painting and tiny chips missing in quite a bit of other spots all over the entire piece. He was able to reduce a small fraction of the warping (on the left side) and he conditioned it and repaired the chips in the sky and other smaller paint chipped areas. I am very satisfied with the end result of the repair he made on this 1950's original oil painting of Laguna Beach, CA. Now I can proudly hang it on my wall! Thank you David, you're the best.

If Humpty Dumpty had met this guy, he'd still be in one piece lol…read more David is a restoration wizard! His little workshop looks like something out of a storybook - a flower-covered cottage where broken things go to be reborn. My most treasured possession, an ostrich egg my late father brought home from Africa when I was a kid, was shattered into what felt like a billion pieces during my recent move. I thought it was gone forever. I was a devastated wreck on the pavement in front of all my neighbors. But David, with the steady hands of an artist and the heart of a healer, pieced it back together so flawlessly, you'd never know it had been broken. If you have something priceless - whether it's an heirloom, a keepsake or a fragment of your past - don't give up on it. Bring it here. He doesn't fix objects; he brings them back to life and restores memories. I'll never be able to thank him enough.

Alex and Pablo did an excellent job with our move. We're talking Tetris Ninja level excellence…read more They were punctual, polite, careful with our belongings and STRATEGIC with the arrangement of the boxes and furniture. This task was no easy feat because there was just enough space in the truck for a whole house move. By the time they were done loading the truck, there was not a cubic foot of space to spare (I'm exaggerating ofc there was like 7 cubic feet of airspace left). Usually when that happens in my previous moves I've had to sacrifice care of items to get things to fit but these guys even properly padded the fragile items and secured furniture with straps to prevent shaking for the cross-country drive, a sign of true pro movers in my mind. I'd definitely book them for my next moving project but alas, I've sworn never to move ever again.

As a result of our recent move, we needed a couple of installations to be done in the new house, namely a glass barn door to be installed and a 65 inch television to be mounted. As many of these installation projects often run into challenges unique to each situation, I find that Alex (the owner of the service who provided the installation services himself for us) to be resourceful throughout the whole process and came up with satisfactory solutions. We liked the results so much that we have already reached out to this team for upcoming projects that we still have pending in the coming months.
