Isaac was thoughtful, design-aware, thorough and did a great installation of a heavy wall mirror and two wall pieces.

There's a roller skate group that meets on City Hall Plaza on Tuesday evenings, too. It's fun to ride a bike, scooter, or skateboard through the tunnel of lights but please be respectful of pedestrians enjoying the Sonic Runway. You can watch the Sonic Runway from Restaurant Rollati on the ground floor of Miro Towers, or Island Taste between the church and Vintage Towers. There is free evening parking in two nearby City garages: one next door to Miro Towers with entrances on 4th and 5th Streets (employee parking until 6PM, free public parking 6-10PM) and another on the other side of City Hall. That garage gives 90 minutes free parking days or evenings at 4th and San Fernando over the former Flames Restaurant which is now Home Eat authentic Chinese cuisine). There are Chargepoint electric chargers in the City garages and a few street spaces by Miro Towers, but they are slow J1772chargers and there's a $1.25 connection fee so not the best unless you're going to stay in the area for a meal, a haircut, or shopping (the actual electricity rates are good). This block also serves as a transit center for VTA, with 11 VTA routes stopping here: #22, 23, 64A, 64B, 66, 68, 72, 73, 500, 522, 523. Although there are signs for SC Metro Hwy 17 Express, it only stops here a few times a day in the morning to drop off at City Hall/SJSU and in the evening to pick up. Most Hwy 17 Express runs start or end at Diridon Station.

The main engineers/artists for this piece (Ron Jensen and Warren Trezevant) have done work for Pixar Animation Studios along with other applications in art and technology, and they've done a remarkable job with the Sonic Runway. The fact that you can walk through this structure while watching the colors move to different songs makes it even more impressive and exciting. And right next to it, the City Hall Rotunda/event center was also beautifully lit in a red hue this past Sunday, which added a nice touch to the surroundings. The music is pretty random (we heard some slow house music and soft rock while we were there). They also have special events on certain days with specific DJs/musicians setting the mood. It was easy to pay a visit and walk through the Sonic Runway while grabbing dinner at a nearby restaurant during the weekend. We spent probably no more than 10-12 minutes here, but it was certainly worth our time. It's free to visit, with the music and light show from 5pm-12midnight daily.

Berley contacted me right away, understood the kind of art I have (eclectic and some very heavy) and the mixed concrete and sheet rock building I live in. I was concerned that they couldn't handle the 30+ art pieces I had in the time allotted but Michael and Berley were such pros that they got the heavy pieces up together and then Michael just did a great job, hanging the art, discussing location and sometimes helping to rearrange an awkward piece. In my 50+ years of remodeling and moving I've run into many contractors workers who thought they knew it all and were not respectful. As a woman who knows what she wants doing a project with contractors you had to fight your way through sours you on the product. Michael and Berley are thorough professionals and they don't come with an attitude even though they are truly experts at their craft and really know high art. I had so much fun working with them that I was sorry when they left. It makes looking at all my art so much more enjoyable knowing how collaborative and fun the project was. I highly recommend them on any size project of any complexity and quality.

I requested Michael to install a variety of art pieces - 12 movie props and 7 oil paintings - in various spaces around my home - living room, long hallway, dining room, and kitchen. Michael gave thoughtful suggestions on placement, spacing, lighting, flow, etc. and was professional throughout the entire process. He made sure each of my pieces were very securely attached and arranged on the wall. This was paramount for me because a lot of the items were bulky heavy items (like the movie prop sword in the image), and he handled them with the utmost care. Overall, I highly recommend Michael - he is an extremely talented architect, designer, and all around professional/cool person.

Conrad came out to install a set of ceramic flowers on one of my condo walls…read more He did a wonderful job with that, then volunteered a bunch of design ideas to fill out my space in creative ways. He is so funny and thorough and thoughtful in his suggestions. He really cares, and it shows. Conrad even had an idea for a plant ledge near a window so I could bring more plants in, since the more obvious spaces for plants in my condo don't have enoug light. He suggested I organize a handful of plants on the ledge like a "boy band" (tall diva in back surrounded by a few others, each of whom should look unique). I followed his advice on the plant ledge and all his other suggestions, and now my condo is filled with lovely artwork and plants. I will definitely work with Art in Hand again! Katie
