After making an appointment to…read morelook at fabric samples in their showroom, we were disappointed because we didn't find any appropriate fabrics (end use: upholstery) in the colors of my daughter's room. The man who was on site that day was nice but not helpful. In emailing Dyan later, I wrote that perhaps we should have come when she was there, because she might know the memo books better, and could point us in the right direction to find an upholstery fabric in a lavender or lilac color. Her response was that "Lavender and lilac are not popular in today's fabric industry, but we do have a selection of white upholstery fabrics." First of all, she's wrong. Mills and fabric houses offer plenty of options in lavender, lilac, and other shades of light purple. Just look at Kravet's, Robert Allen's, or any other to-the-trade website. I worked in that industry for 20 years. Second, that wasn't what I asked. I asked for her help, and I was told the color I was seeking wasn't popular and I could try a white fabric. (Of course you have white fabric!) This was not helpful, and to be told that what I was looking for is not popular is borderline rude. Her response put me off so much that I've delayed the project for a year. I'm now beginning the process with another upholstery shop and am reminded of my negative experience with Dyan at Dan's. Maybe if you get a better salesperson, you'll have a better experience. But I'll never recommend Dan's.

He was confident in his recommendations while still making sure the final result matched what I was looking for. I returned the next day on Saturday around 11 AM and again they were closed. I finally was able to pick them up three weeks later and when I arrived, I was chastised for having left my shoes there for so long despite having tried to pick them up three times already. They told that I have to come on the day they say they'll be ready for pick up which is impossible for me since I work at a 9 to 5. I did invite Noe to come back to redo it, and it still did not meet the professional standard I paid for. I would have appreciated more thorough communication from the start to make sure I was getting what I needed. To be honest, this was not the cheapest quote I got but paid more because of the great reviews. I would be happy to change my review to 5 stars if the team wants to come back for a full regrout on the floors, but I'm not planning to pay any more than I already have. He did a seal and when the rain came and went the leak did not happen! Now we know where to address when we have more time and sunshine. Also had him check out my front steps that seem to need to be re-grouted - he pointed out white water marks coming out from the tiles is a sign of water getting in behind so he went tile by tile to figure out how many are loose. I look forward to his bid for service for spring project as he does great work so I feel like I will get a good deal and a great job well done.
