    As a mother of a senior fur baby whom takes her happiness and well being very seriously, I would not recommend bringing your baby to Pacific Animal Hospital. I had to use Pacific Animal hospital for awhile, not by choice and thankfully never again. I had a unique situation with the baby which unfortunately kept us there. It was a true blessing in disguise that I happened to be randomly reviewing my bills that prompted me to contact the office regarding various discrepancies in billing that revealed the truth about this practice. Dr. Jones is the practice owner. It was recently bought to my attention that he will only speak with you if he is seeing your fur baby for service. He will not return your calls or address your inquiries and concerns. He leaves that to one of his staff. The office manager, Tiffany is extremely unprofessional, lacks a basic knowledge and understanding of communication, let alone respectful communication and the true concept of customer service as well as billing amongst things in which Dr. Jones and her supervisor, Amy the head technician obviously support and encourage. As the office manager whom is always seated at the front desk for check-in and checkout, isn't it part of your essential job function to have some concept of patient accounts, especially since you are one of the main staff customers have to unfortunately encounter on a daily basis???? It is apparently such an inconvenience to the office staff to perform their basic duties: verify prices, field inquiries, obtain answers, etc. I noticed that the exam rooms were not being cleaned after each appointment and had to bring this to the attention of a tech. It was soo filthy in fact that I requested to have our room switched. I would always put shoes on the baby for each visit and put her up on the table because of the uncleanliness of the exam rooms. Also when seeing Dr. Jones for a scheduled appointment I clocked the timw it takes for him to come into the room which is an hour. Another issue which concerned me was that Dr. Jones recommended an unnecessary surgery for the baby which may have left her dead. When you begin to disregard compassion, communication, up front pricing, respect for the customer and soo much more, you do not deserve my business, let alone anyone else. When a doctor allows his practice to be run without any regards to the bottom line and we as the consumer are funding staff salaries, over head expenses, etc..... I draw my bottom line.

After coming across Salty Dog, I decided to give it a try. Here's the breakdown: FACILITIES: The space is clean and well kept. I felt more than comfortable leaving my furball here. QUALITY: Average. My cat was clean with a respectable amount of stray fur removed, but quite a bit was left behind. I've been to better and worse places, and although not reaching grooming nirvana, Salty Dog did a pretty good job getting my cats fur under control. SERVICE: This is where Salty Dog failed for me. "Salty" is indeed an accurate description for this place, as the staff is incredibly unfriendly. I'm used to visiting groomers that are open and inviting. Salty Dog is just the opposite. Both times I have visited, I felt as though I was intruding, and it was very uncomfortable. I find this so disappointing for a business in such a small town. In addition, I have had considerable difficulty booking an appointment. Often when I call, the staff picks up the phone and then hangs up! When the phone is answered, I hear a few snippets of conversation and then they drop the phone back onto the receiver. I was shocked the first time it happened; however, it has occured multiple times since then so I believe it is a regular occurrence. It does not bode well for a business when their employees would rather chit chat than answer customer calls. OVERALL: I've taken my pet here three times for grooming and will not be returning. I understand that bad days do occur, but the continued unfriendly service has taken its toll. There are other grooming services in Pacific/Eureka, and I am going to take my business elsewhere.
