From…read moremy initial call to ask for an estimate for annual visit/vaccinations the staff at Spencer Creek were patient and polite. They answered all my questions and pointed me to further resources when needed. They didn't push or rush me to make decisions. They didn't push my dogs when they were uncomfortable and gave them space to warm up or instructed me how to hold them or give them treats to help soothe them through a particular part they didn't like. We have a chiweenie and a pit mix. We chose to take them on seperate days and both received great care. They were quick to get us into a room so we could get settled. Both the vet tech and the veterinarian were great with the dogs. They worked well with the muzzle we have trained our pit with for high-stress outings. The staff member at the front desk was a saint. She didn't make me feel bad when I got a little emotional when my elderly dog was calm and snuggly with me after when she usually hates to be held and is ready to get out of there. The vet checked on her one more time before I left with aftercare instructions to help ease my anxiety. For the first time I have no reservations about future visits for my dogs. This was my first visit. Like most doctors, dentist or any other medical appointment, I had about a…read more20-minute wait to be seen. Once in the examine, the Vet assistant asked what the reason for the visit was. I explained that we were recommended by a friend to try Animal Talk and Dr. Lucas. I mentioned that we needed the yearly shots for our dog. She asked if we had her previous medical records, and I said I have them at home and can go get them. She said she could call our previous Vet and have them faxed over. This saved me a trip back home to get the records. She went over the recommended and required shots needed and said Dr. Lucas would administer those shots. It was about 15 minutes before Dr. Lucas came in the exam room and immediately apologized for the wait. He went on to explain that sometimes different procedures took longer than expected. I told him it wasn't a problem and showed me that he took his time and didn't rush through each animal. He explained the different procedures he was about to perform and proceed to give the necessary shots. He explained different aspects of my dog and what to look out for and what to expect. I was there about an hour, from start to finish. Overall, very pleased with my first visit. I like the idea of the time he spent with my dog. I compare the time it took to going to McDonalds or going to a steak house. You will both be fed at both, but I would feel more satisfied with the steak house when I got done. Finally, the bill for all the shots and office visit was half of what I have previously paid for the same services.
