My experience with P2P Computer Solutions was extremely disappointing. I went in after badly damaging the screen on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. They offered me two third-party replacement options: a $199 screen or a supposedly more durable $279 screen. Since I planned to use my phone for at least another three years, I opted for the "durable" one. The repair itself took 2-3 hours, but even after being given a pickup time, I had to wait another 30 minutes when I returned everytime. Initially, the screen looked fine, but it went completely black the very next day. I brought it back, and they admitted it was a faulty piece and replaced it. Shockingly, the replacement also failed, and during the second repair, the new screen already had a visible defect (a black spot in the middle). They apologized and replaced it again. At this point, I had already gone through three faulty screens in less than a week. Not long after, a very minor drop caused the "durable" screen to crack -- even though my phone had a thick case and the screen protector was intact. My original Apple screen had lasted two years with heavy use, yet their third-party screen couldn't handle one small impact. When I returned for the fourth time, they asked me to pay another $100 on top of the $279 I had already spent (before tax). After insisting on speaking to the manager, they eventually agreed to let me keep the replacement without charging me again. Still, the entire process left me frustrated and distrustful. To make matters worse, another customer in line mentioned having a very similar experience. Frankly, I would never return. The only reason they seem to have good reviews is that they offer a free screen protector in exchange for a 5-star rating. My experience showed me their products are unreliable, their service inconsistent, and their "durable" screen anything but durable. read more

$500 Dollars to get a laptop that had battery issues get fixed. They also decided to charge me $82.50 and 3 days just to diagnose the same thing a different place did for free under an hour. Not only that, but their diagnosis was incorrect. It turns out the battery socket just needed resoldering, and wasn't "threatening to take out the motherboard". They kept insisting I needed to get the hinges fixed when it wasn't the reason I was there, when I knew I could easily fix it myself and not shell out $300 for all new parts. To add insult to injury, they forgot my charger, and got it mixed up with someone else's charger. They told me to wait until Friday, then until Monday, Now they just told me to wait until Friday again. :/ Don't go here to get your tech fixed. read more

Charged me to tell me they couldn't fix it. They were obviously overcharging because it is close to a college campus. They wanted me to buy new parts that would end up costing more than the price of a new laptop. They charged me 100 to "run some tests" just to say it was water damaged and couldn't be fixed without almost every part being repared. Then wanted additional money for parts. read more

Terrible. Had a system crash and wifi driver problem on my desktop PC, paid 99 for a diagnostic fee, explained to them the problem and then an 80-dollar repair fee, was told that the computer was ready and all problems were fixed. They fixed the crash, so I was able to go into windows, but the Wi-Fi problem that I very much made clear was one of the main problems was not fixed. I called them and they just tell me to bring it in again so they can look at it, like were u not looking at it before??? Not to mention it took them over a week to fix a system crash and wifi problem when I was told 3-5 days. Like what are you doing with my PC for over a week if I come back and the problem still isnt fixed. Literally what are you doing with my PC cause you obviously are not fixing it. 180 dollars down the drain. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. So upset, ridiculous. Wanted to give an update: their response paints an inaccurate picture of what happened. Their ($127!) diagnostic was incorrect. The cause they gave was incorrect. I was unable to get a refund for this incorrect "diagnostic" despite reaching out to the store SEVERAL times. I confirmed with another repair store that the cause they claimed WAS indeed incorrect. **Management/owner doesn't respond to attempts to communicate; he only responds to these poor reviews. I saw someone had a good experience in P2P Computer Solutions, but unfortunately, not my case. The staff treats their custom as idiots that do not know anything about IT. I have my Macbook Pro to replace the battery. It is an Apple Recall program so the replacement should be totally free. At the first time I call P2P, they told me they need extensive TECHNICAL examination to determine whether my laptop is legitimate for the recall program. I was confused about this since the Apple website provides a way to check this, which just requires the serial number. However, the staff insists to do their TECHNICAL examination to decide. With some doubt I brought my laptop to the store, and surprisingly, they JUST checked the serial number and told me it is legitimate for the recall program. Although the staff looked politely, I just wonder why they internally treated customers like idiots. Then they told me that the battery replacement will be done within 4 working days. I chose to trust them and left my laptop there. Unfortunately, after 4 days, there is no message about my laptop. So I made the second call and got the answer that "we are working on it and it will be ready today". Sounds good. I waited for another day. No response. When I made the third call, the staff told me they JUST ordered the battery after an extensive TECHNICAL examination. I have to wait another three working days to get my laptop back. That will be 9 working days, not the originally promised 4. When I suggested that my case is just to replace battery and it does not need TECHNICAL examination, the staff asked me to pick my laptop back and they refuses to provide the service -- although it seems they never do. After waiting for 6 days, I got my laptop back, without battery replaced. This is my unfortunate experience with P2P computer solutions. Never got apple service like this. I hope they can use their domain knowledge on IT to serve their customs, not to fool them. You just know IT knowledge. That is not the reason to overlook others. read more

TERRIBLE customer service! They are the only Mac service center for many miles and they know it. Store is almost literally a hole in the ground. Even during COVID, expect to wait an hour even with an appointment. I would not trust them with any data on your malfunctioning computer or phone. read more

brought my laptop in for a cracked screen repair. had to wait a week for their diagnostics check to determine that there was nothing else wrong and was then told to expect the repair to be complete the next week. I then spent the next 3 weeks calling in for updates on the tapir only to be told that the parts weren't in and they didn't know when they would be. after 4 weeks total they let me know that my laptop is ready for pickup. when I pick my laptop up I check the screen to find that while it is no longer cracked the screen backlight is not working making the screen practically impossible to see even at maximum brightness. I brought the laptop back in was told that they could fix it and that it would be expedited. after another 2 weeks they told me my laptop was ready for pick up. I pick it up and lo and behold the backlight is STILL not working. needless to say I will seeking assistance elsewhere. Do not go to this store unless you want to wait a month for your device to be less functional than when you brought it in. read more

I took in my laptop for a checkup because it wasn't turning on properly and they told me that it would cost me 100$. This is a ridiculous and predatory price. Luckily I am aware of how much tech should cost (the majority of places will charge 25$ or just offer that part for free if you bought the product from them). Normally I would just go somewhere else and forget about it, but it struck me that they could be using these prices on less tech savvy individuals to take advantage and of them. DONT GO HERE I wish I could rate lower on this company. I've never actually taken the time to write a review before, but people need to know how terribly they handle customers here. There is NO communication between the workers and between the workers and the customer. I dropped off my broken phone almost 3 weeks ago thinking it would be $80 to do a data recovery (according to someone on their phone line) if it worked, turns out it is $200. It should have taken 2 days to get the data off and 2 days to download the data max (according to them), but it has now been about 3 weeks. They forgot to tell me to turn off find my iphone so it got delayed because they never sent me an email (even though they consistently insist that they did). I was the one that had to call and find out why my phone was not ready 2 days after I dropped it off. On that call, I determined with the person on call that I had turned it off successfully.... Well, 2 more days go by and no email and I call again.... Apparently find my iphone was not turned off and they did not bother to inform me. I was definitely upset at this point on the phone with the person and he threatened to not do the data recovery. That's not how you work with customers. Instead, you should represent the company that did a poor job and offer to knock off the already outrageous price. I just want my phone back, it is not that hard. Communication is key and they should have informed me that I needed to come into the store to turn it off. Now, I have to wait until Monday at the very least to pick it up. read more

Had my MacBook Pro diagnostic test done here because of a power issue. They charged 52.99 for this labor then 3 days later quoted the repair cost to be $650 just to send it in to Apple because they couldn't figure out what was wrong (Even though I paid over 50 dollars for the "diagnostic labor"). I was not willing to pay this amount so I decided to pick it up and take it to an Apple Store myself. When I arrived, the employee knew exactly what was wrong and told me that my model of MacBook had a known, but rare, hardware flaw that can be repaired at no cost to me, even after the warranty period. I have to wonder why this "Apple Authorized Service Provider" had no knowledge of this known issue that can be surfaced with a simple Google search. After calling them, they did refund the diagnostic labor cost but I can't say with confidence that I wasn't about to be taken advantage of by this bussiness. If you're having issues with Apple products, I recommend just biting the bullet and taking a trip to an Apple Store. read more

I had a great experience here and was surprised to see the negative reviews. I was having serious problems with my Macbook Pro display and I even told them my AppleCare warranty had expired. But they decided to double-check for me and found out I was still covered for another year! That effort alone saved me hundreds. They were very responsive and professional both through the diagnosis and repair process. You never want to be in a situation where your computer has major problems, but should that happen to me again, I will definitely be back. read more

Their website is not updated - they post iphone battery replacement. But they don't do that anymore. I called them 4 times this morning to try to reach someone about getting my battery replaced on my iphone. I got put on hold every time forever. So I sent them a message through their contact email form with my phone #. No response. I finally drove there and that's when I learned that they don't do this work anymore even though they have it posted with pricing on their website. So - they don't answer the phone. They don't respond to messages sent through their website. And their website information is not accurate. read more

I went to them to fix my iPhone, and I had to go a few days without my phone which is totally fine A few days later, I get an email at 5:07pm after they closed telling me my phone is ready to be picked up. Unfortunately they are the only Apple certified repair shop in the area. I would still never ever go there again. I am choosing to mail in my phone to Apple and be without in rather than go back there again. I chatted with Apple about my iPhone's restarting issues - it's only 4 months old. They set me up with an "appointment" at P2P. Unfortunately the next available was 4 days later. I went in for my "appointment" and they just took my phone. Didn't look at it. Told me it would be a day. I have since found out from other customers that you can just drop it off - they could have had it days sooner. Then when I went to pick it up (on a football Friday nonetheless - I would never have been downtown otherwise) they just said it was fixed. I had to ask what was wrong and what they did. Turns out they only did a restore - which I had told them when I dropped it off that I had already done twice myself. And upon booting up one time, it even crashed/restarting during the first phases of the reboot. They said they couldn't reproduce the problem, so considered it "fixed". Three hours later on that Friday evening, it crashed again just like before. Unfortunately this shop obviously only caters to students and not working people. It's only open 9-5 on M-F. No evening or weekend hours AT ALL. I already missed a lot of work - and had to go downtown for all of this which isn't trivial. And I had to wait all weekend to talk to them. I ended up deciding to mail my phone to Apple. I do not trust P2P to do repairs. They don't communicate and their hours are terrible. I would really wish another local location would become an Apple authorized repair place. read more

I can't say enough about my experience with P2P. Each time they have been helpful and quick to fix my problem. Most recently I dealt with a possible data recovery problem and instead of doing the expensive data recovery they found a workaround and only charged me labor. I must agree, the bad reviews really are way off! My experience working with the guys at P2P could not have been any better! My problem was diagnosed in seconds and no charge for the solution. The tech person was friendly, responsive, and even offered some advice on another issue. This place actually does have pretty good costumer service but that's it. I brought my MacBook pro in because it wasn't working right. I purchased the AppleCare protection pplan so the $50 service fee was waived. After I brought it in, I received no updates about the status of it until I actually called asking about it. Finally, they said that it had water damage (I have never spilled anything on it so I was pretty confused) and told them this, but it was disregarded. They told me that water damage voided the warranty and it would cost $850 dollars. I took my laptop back without getting it fixed and sent it home to get a second opinion, where they said it in fact was not water damage and that the indicator went off improperly which happens some times. They said it then was covered by the warranty. So basically they almost wrongly charged me $850. Don't go here. read more

They said that they have to make a diagnostic to find a problem. And I had to wait for 1-2 days for the diagnostic test result. They request 26.50 USD. I paid for that and wait for 2 days. They called me and said that according to the diagnostic, the problem was about the charging unit and they may order a part for it. They said it costs 90 USD. Since the phone was old, I was indecisive. On the other hand due to the contact memory of the phone and the photos I said ok to them. And I had a limited time in State College. They said it will take 3-5 business day to repair it. I called them after 5 days they said they are still waiting for the charging part. Today (30 July 2014) they called me and said that they changed the charging part but the phone is still not working. I went to the store. They said the problem may be on the logic board and they can not fix the logic board. I asked the meaning of the diagnostic? Is it something like an estimation? or a test with software... Since I have no more extra time to wait for another 8-10 days I do not want to do anything there. Anyway, even though I had a time, they said they can not fix the logic board. I asked for my money back for the diagnostic and they refused. I paid for a wrong diagnostic test! If they had said that the problem was about the logic board 7 days ago (after the diagnostic test) I would not wait for repairement and bought a new phone. Horrid place with sketchy management that tries to attach as much unneeded things to your repair ($300 "data transfer") and makes promises to have your stuff ready within the next 2 business days but instead keeps going on for months. They said that they would sent my computer to Apple to fix it... I knew that the problem with my computer is that battery needs to be changed. They told me that "Apple Officials" said that my motherboard and my battery need to be replaced... told me originally they would charge $250 and then $800. They told me the jump in price was because there was a mother board issue. Little did I know they somewhat scammed me. I had it check with a REAL apple official and they said that only my battery was needed to be replaced. got it fixed in $250, it is all working fine. I had a custom tower built by myself, I've overclocked the CPU and memories at a very high frequency for about a month and one day something inside the case got burned, I thought maybe the motherboard burned out, but i was not sure, so i sent my desktop to the p2p store to see if they can help me to find out what's the problem and get it fixed. (one thing to mention is that I told them that I saw the DrMOS overheat LED lighted up just after the burning and this could be the problem) After several days, i went to the store, they told me that the capacitors of my motherboard got burned, and the mechanical hard drive also failed. Guess what is their solution? Get a new motherboard, get a new mechanical hard drive. and the TOTAL COST is $700+, ARE U KIDDING me?! I'm not a fool, I KNOW computer! The reason I was mad is that I KNOW if there are capacitors broken, you can just figure out which one failed and install a new one, which cost at most 30 bucks. I declined the repair, since I can got a replacement from the original manufacturer. HOWEVER, i still doubt that the problem is the capacitors, so I brought the tower back and uninstalled the motherborad northbridge heat sink. Then I Immediately realized that it was the MOSFET that got burned, NOT the capacitors. Because there is an obvious burnt on the thermal paste. I don't know what test did they do on my computer, but clearly, they didn't even figure out the most obvious problem. DISAPPOINTED. Their solution is also not very smart -- go replace a new one, and price is RIDICULOUS HIGH. PLUS, my case side panel's coating got rubbed badly, the metal under the coating shows off. Clearly, they are not even careful with the customers' property at all. DISAPPOINTED. This will be my first time and LAST TIME visiting this store. read more

I will never be able to explain my experience here fully. My friend went in and asked them to replace her phone screen. Not only did they take her screen off and on TWICE but then they striped her screws and told her they could do nothing. We went to another place and they said they couldn't help because the screws were stripped. We go back P2P and the manager is so beyond rude. He looked at me and told me to "shut my mouth because this wasn't my phone and it had nothing to do with me." When we then asked if he spoke to all his customers this way he said "no just you." I could handle the words thrown at me but to say these things to a small woman as well just shows how terrible that place is. STAY AWAY read more

I drove 60 miles , and when arrived was told ," yes we have a machine that can diagnose the phone, and tell you what is wrong, we can do that 2 days from now... I needed to have my iPhone battery replaced under Apple's warranty program. I thought that would entail a trip to Pittsburgh, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that P2P was an authorized repair shop. I made an appointment with them and they let me know that they had to order the battery and it would be about a week until it arrived. When it did arrive, P2P gave me a call to schedule the repair. I dropped my phone off before lunch and then picked it up 40 minutes later with the new battery. No issues whatsoever, and staff was friendly and quick. Thanks! read more

I'd rate this place a 0 if I could. Never come here looking for help for ANY Apple product. I've never tried them for any other brand of electronics​, but they probably wouldn't be much help for that either. I took my iPhone 6s for diagnostic​ tests because it had stopped working completely randomly. They charged me about 45$, made me come back 2 hours later, said it wasn't ready yet (they hadn't even looked at it), made me go back 1 hour later, and said, "We can't fix it, you need to buy a new 300$ phone." They claimed that Apple advised them to say this, but judging by the fact that all they could say was, "there was a short, it's just an old phone" when I asked what was wrong with it, I don't quite believe it. This phone was exactly 2 years old. The best part is that later that day I took this "unfixable" phone to a 21-year-old​ student, he opened my phone up, fixed 1 wire, closed it, and my phone finally turned on and worked better than before -- FOR FREE. Never, ever go to this place for Apple devices, it's just a scam and all they want is your money in exchange for nothing. read more
