Okay so we went here on a Sunday which was good because there was literally no crowd. Reservations are definitely recommended on Fridays and Saturdays but Sundays not so much. The wait staff was very nice and our particular waitress was very informative. We had calamari for an appetizer and it was exceptionally tasty. For the main courses, we enjoyed a seafood risotto and a rather large chicken pot pie. (Yeah I know, getting chicken pot pie at a steakhouse is kind of unordinary but it's one of my weaknesses) The pot pie was pretty good. The crust was really good but the filling was standard with others that I've had (not those nasty ones from grocery stores either, but other restaurants). My wife had the risotto, I of course tried some the seafood flavoring throughout the rice itself was done perfectly. The seafood that was in it was also prepared exceptionally well, with one small detail that I would have done different. When you're putting shrimp on a skewer next to a steak for example, yeah I can definitely see leaving the tails on but when you incorporate shrimp into a pasta dish or a rice dish like risotto, to have to take the time as the custer to cut the tails off or reach your fingers into your food and pull them off... Personally I would like to see that down in the kitchen before the dish is served. It was still very tasty, just that one that'll detail that I personally would change if it were my decision to make. For drinks the wife had a blue Hawaiian and I had their red edition of a Long Island iced tea. My wife doesn't like the taste of alcohol in her alcohol sold a blue Hawaiian worked pretty well. Had a really good coconut flavor, and my iced tea in my opinion was a little strong. I'm not saying that's a bad thing overall however it didn't taste as good as Long Island's in other restaurants. I might be a little outside of the normal here but when I order a mixed drink, unlike 30 years ago when my goal was to get hammered, I don't necessarily like it stronger I look these days more toward the flavor of the drink. I've been here a few times over the years as I have family who goes to the casino and likes to take us to eat here. Honestly it's kind of a drag; the food overall isn't great but isn't awful, but the service is slow even when it's not busy. The wait staff is nice but forgets to bring drinks or is not attentive. To go more into detail on the food, the quality varies depending on what you get and between different components of a single meal. Seems like any meat and seafood is prepared well, but vegetables less so. When I ordered the vegetable risotto, I thought it was bland, and the asparagus and tomatoes were over-cooked but the brussels sprouts weren't cooked enough. I ordered the seared scallops last time and the scallops were excellent as was the salmon I tried from one of my family member's plates, and the crab cakes are also amazing. The coleslaw side was not bad but very pedestrian, like the stuff you can get in a tub at the grocery store. I really enjoyed the whiskey bread pudding and the cheesecake, the key lime pie was just too sweet and one-note for me - all the desserts are big and very sweet, so I think it's best to share. I guess it's a good choice considering what's available at Tioga Downs, especially factoring in the more sophisticated atmosphere here compared to the restaurants on the casino side, but I myself would not choose to come here were it not for family obligations. read more

My husband and I enjoy dining here regularly. The service is always good and we have always been able to get a table with no problem. It's also a nice quiet place to eat away from the hustle and bustle of the casino. The food is also pretty good. My one bit of constructive criticism would be due to the cost of items in relation to the portion sizes. $6 for basically a shot glass of creamed spinach side. $20 for 13 clams the size of Skittles. $36 for a dozen oysters that are also teeny tiny. $21 for four fried shrimp that are mostly breading and a dollop of cole slaw. The winners on the menu would be the prime rib which never disappoints and the chicken pot pie. Both are stellar options. The drink prices are reasonable. This place is still a great option for the area and we will continue to visit. read more

Came here on Saturday night for our big meal - and Jonesy calling his shots. Originally, I was going to order a NY strip, but upon hearing the special (a 60oz porterhouse) Jonesy ordered two for James and I and it was off to war. I really liked the decor - dark wood, black and white mosaic tile floors, dark lighting fixtures etc. The staff was nice, our waitress was nice and attentive, and had no problem with people in our party bringing their own wine. The steak was good - but was about 20oz of fat and gristle. Somewhat disappointing - I was looking forward to winning a battle instead of dominating what ended up being a skirmish. Taste on the edible meat was great - sides were good as well. We also shared an appetizer of calamari which was perfectly breaded and fried. Liked this place a lot. Would recommend. read more

We grabbed an early dinner this afternoon. I think we were the first people seated. This is a very nice looking and clean restaurant. The menu is limited, but has a lot of variety. We had burgers, veggies and a calamari starter. It was all excellent! What really made our experience over the top was our waitress, Cassie H. She is amazing! On the ball, great sense of humor, and just a really nice person. We will certainly go back and visit again, hopefully Cassie will be in and have an open table for us in her section. Was at Tioga Downs for the weekend, so I thought since I was at the casino and won a few bucks, they could buy me dinner at P.J. Clarke's. Bread was good, and the jumbo shrimp cocktail wasn't as jumbo as I would have liked, but tasted very good. The beer was cold. For the main course, the ribeye done medium rare was both somewhat rough and chewy yet somewhat tasty, the mashed potatoes were a little runny and the asparagus was hard, but tasted mediocre. The dipping sauces were a bonus. Service was adequate. Overall I give P.J. Clarke's a 2.75/5 stars. read more

My companion and I had dinner recently at P.J. Clark's. We were greeted and seated immediately. I ordered Shrimp Cocktail as an appetizer and Chili Glazed Mahi Mahi for entree. My companion ordered Crab Cake for appetizer and Filet Mignon for entree. We were both pleased with our appetizers. My companion said his filet was one of the best he's had in a long time. I liked the sweet/spicy glaze on the Mahi Mahi but felt it was slightly overcooked. The Forbidden Rice was an interesting & delicious addition and the the broccolini was perfect. I have been here 3 times now. Server Emily is great!! The Cesar salad is my favorite! I also loved the brussel sprouts!! Last time I did order the sea scallops and they were cooked perfectly. Service was haphazard, about half the food was not hot. The prime rib the middle was somehow more done than the outside. The shrimp was bland though we did order not breaded. It was probably the worst shrimp we had had. The onion stack was not good. Portions were small. The steaks were ok but not spectacular. The bread was basically a sister Anne's frozen bread cooked. What a dreadful dinner we had. From start to finish, something was awful. First, the shrimp was way overcooked and very chewy. Next, I was told they would not cook a steak rare, which to me is a huge red flag, especially from a steak house. The french onion soup had no taste and it looked like pieces of cheese were thrown on the soup and melted on own. The best part of french onion is scraping the melted cheese off the side! My steak was cooked okay, but the bearnaise sauce tasted like nothing. Lastly, the cheesecake was not mixed properly. There was chunks of cream cheese all over the. Maybe it tasted good, but I couldn't get past the chunks. My husbands dinner was equally as bad. His lobster mac and cheese was not baked, more like stirred together. The lobster was overcooked. The icecream in the brownie sundae tasted freezer burnt and the brownie tasted like it was still half frozen. I think they ran out of brownies and had to quickly defrost more because it did take awhile for them to come out. Then to top it off, the coffee was warm bean water, no flavor. I'm near Tioga Downs, so I pop in with the kids for a burger and a beer. 15 empty tables and told there's a 2 hour wait at 7:00 on Sat. It's a fucking bar with food, and clearly could have sat us. No one seated in the waiting area!!! Piss poor management led to understaffing on a holiday weekend. I'll take my money elsewhere. Never again. read more

My wife ordered a reuben with sweet potato fries, both of which were very good, with generous portions. I ordered three burger sliders with regular fries, both disappointing. Fries were very generic and lacked color. One slider had a tiny, undercooked piece of bacon. The rolls were also rather gummy. I'll try something else next time. read more

Wow! For the money my husband spent on valentine's 2020, the service was awful! We had reservations at 7 (we got the Valentine's day special) we waited over an hour for the 1st part. In that hour my husband had 2 drinks & I had 1. When we finally got out first part my raviolis were luke warm but I was starving so I ate them! We asked for another drink which we were apparently forgotten, so when the waitress came back over with our 2nd part of the meal I asked if we could get our drinks, she looked dumb founded that we didn't get them. We waited close to half hour for those drinks before I asked (waiting that long they should have been on the house since she clearly forgot). She pretty much stayed at the computer station by the bar either doing whatever constantly on the screen or would just stand there looking around. Are whole experience on Valentine's day was a little over 2 hours! I've never been to any restaurant that it took that long. One star.. only because I have to. We came in for an early dinner last night, and were the only customers there when we arrived. The table we were seated at was cramped so we asked the waitress to move to the table next to us so we could have room and she seemed extremely put out by it, but allowed us. When our drinks arrived we immediately knew that the beer we were served, was NOT the beer that we ordered. We asked the waitress if she was sure that we were given the correct beer and she insisted it was. My boyfriend then went to the bar to get a sample of it and the waitress there told him that it was not what it said it was. Instead of being the Lakeshore Fog that was advertised, and we ordered, they were actually serving Nu Juice. The waitress at the bar told us that the manager substituted it because "he didn't think anyone would notice." These are two completely different beers and very noticeable as such. We shouldn't be paying for a drink that wasn't what we ordered, and when we told our waitress that she didn't even acknowledge us and walked away from our table. When we got the bill we saw that they still charged us for the beer, so we requested the manager and we were told that she "will have to try to find him." When he came over to our table he didn't initially offer to make it right, we had to explain to him the difference in the beers and why it was morally wrong to be KNOWINGLY serving the wrong beer. He tried to excuse his behavior by telling us that the Lakeshore was on backorder and they were given Nu Juice to serve in the meantime, that's fine, but don't advertise it as something that it isn't. He did end up taking the first beer off our bill though. The food was okay, but knowingly being served the wrong drink, and the attitudes of our waitress and the manager ruined the outing for us. read more

Let me just start by saying if you have a vision problem or forgot your glasses don't eat here!!!! You need to be able to examine every bite before putting it in your mouth. We got the mac n cheese appetizer n there was a black piece of hair, or fuzz, not sure what it was in it. Didn't even make a fuss about it. Then got my chicken pot pie and started picking at that. Didn't get one bite in and pulled out a long string. At this point I had lost my appetite. I called the waitress over and showed her and she took it away. I'm not one to make a scene and just said, that's cool, but didnt want anything else! I would also recommend staying away from the MARYLAND crabcake. Being from Maryland it is a total insult to a real Maryland crabcake! My mom only got it because the waitress raved about it, saying it was the best thing on the menu! That's pretty bad because it was tasteless and just nasty! The waitress never even came over once to ask her how it was! Its like she already knew!!
