Shrimp scampi
Julianne G.

One of the last family owned decent dining out restaurants in the area. Old school Italian eatery in an older building. Kind of dark interior with a bar and tables. I came for the shrimp scampi, because it is one of the best I have ever had. Lightly fried shrimp with butter and garlic sauce. Every meal is served with homemade bread, a salad and a choice of a side. They have pasta, steaks and other seafood, but I have never got beyond the shrimp because I don't live locally, and I always want the shrimp if I come. I love the old school salad with Italian dressing. Service was great, and for the amount of food you get I feel the prices are fair.

Went to Lib's for a valentines dinner and it was okay. The highlights of the night were the bread and the salad. However, I was served a raw steak, when I ordered it medium. The menu for valentine's day was smaller, as expected, but I asked if I could have a side of the scampi sauce (which is already made as they had shrimp scampi and chicken scampi on the menu for the night) and the kitchen refused to give it to me. Furthermore, when you go to a high end place, if they serve you a raw steak you would get a discount, or offered a free drink, dessert, etc. But we payed full price, when I had to send my steak back and wait another 9 minutes for it while my boyfriend was eating. I would like to say our server was great though!!! Perhaps I just visited on a bad night.

Too much garlic on everything. Place needs a makeover. Very crowded and loud. A far walk from the parking lot for an older person.

Didn't serve swordfish. Pissed. My chicken parm was delightful. Very dark, got lost and had to be escorted back to my table by a nice lady.

So we came here on a Friday night about 6 o'clock and they were supposed to be an open mic…read morehappening which we were excited about because we love performing an open mic. Since we've been out all day we were really hungry so we decided to eat something before we performed. At the moment there couldn't have been more than eight people in the whole place inside and out on the deck total. We were handed menus that had no prices on them. I ordered the buddah bowl with chicken strips and my husband got a quesadilla with steak. It took about 40 minutes for the food to come and the boot bowl was mostly a big bowl of greens with what couldn't have been more than a tablespoon of chicken chopped up on it. It was very tasty. My husband's quesadilla was the size you would expect loaded with cheese but literally one little tiny cube of steak in each of the six wedges. His quesadilla was tasty We only ordered water to drink because we were going to be singing later and it took about 15 minutes for the water to get to us. She "forgot". The whole time we were there nobody checked on us and place never got very busy no more than maybe eight people the whole time. We decided not to stay to sing because there was practically nobody there and the people who were there were outside on the deck while the place for the performers was inside in the bar. And as far as we knew we were the only people there who were planning to perform. The Buddha bowl which would've made a nice side salad to any other meal was $14, while the quesadilla was $13. In my opinion overpriced for what we got. We also bussed our own table.

Can we just start with the Pickle Flatbread? Oh and the fact that there are 30 different brew ON…read moreTAP!!! (My honey managed to try 28 of them. The last two were ciders, so he took a pass and just left it at 28...or SEVEN BEER FLIGHTS!!!) We also had the Mexican Street Corn dip and then couldn't leave without trying the GIANT pretzel (could probably feed four!!) Our hosts and wait staff were as nice as could be. It was a truly lovely way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon! Can't wait to go back.

I feel betrayed. We ordered this meal to cap off a stretch of long work days. We weren't looking for anything nutritious, this was a naughty, slutty, orgie, type of order. We did a lil research and this seemed like a good enough bet, ESPECIALLY with the reviews. I don't know what the bar is around here but I live in Westchester and I don't think this place would survive a week in my area. I'm being savage because I'm genuinely PISSED at the waste of a meal this was. We ordered: mac and cheese, deep fried cauliflower, margherita flatbread, veggie flatbread, side of loaded garlic mash, side of veggies, sweet potato fries. I will admit that the mac and cheese was fantastic. It was even quite good heated up as leftovers. I loved the option of the side portion which was actually a pretty generous portion. GF actually liked the veggie flatbread but notes that it was cold upon arrival. I don't know if that can be blamed on the restaurant tho. My flatbread was just ok. The crust wasn't particularly good. It wasn't BAD but I can't say much more than that. The mashed potatoes were pretty good also but I fucked up and didn't realize the loaded version would be covered in bacon. That was my bad. I appreciate the attempt at the veggie options but the deep fried cauliflower really seemed to be frozen cauliflower which...isn't good at all. The batter had zero flavor. It wasn't worth the calories. I lied when I said we weren't looking for anything nutritious because I always need to sneak in an order of something with fiber and antioxidants for the temple that is my body. I ordered the side of veggies to achieve that task. They were mushy, clearly frozen veggies that were just warmed up, soggy, flavorless. It's insane to literally sell vegetables to people but then just buy a bag of frozen veggies and throw them in the microwave. Beyond me. The veggie sweet potato fries were cold, soggy, undercooked, and I am not joking or exaggerating, came with an absolute joke of a portion. There MAY be 15 fries there, max. I am actually going to post a picture because the quantity was offensive. They were so underwhelming we just gave them to the dogs. The dogs liked them but my dog literally eats her own shit, so.. This was such a disappointing meal I would never entertain ordering from this place again.

I really want to love this place; and for the most part, I do! But when you have an absentee owner…read moreand no manager--stars are lost! Went in last Friday night after discovering they have a fish fry! It's $25--which, to me, is a little on the pricey side for a fish fry, but we like this place and the vibe...so we tried it. The fish was crispy and fresh and hot and delicious! The mac and cheese was good, hot and gooey. The coleslaw, which is a newer item on their menu, tastes oddly like grocery store macaroni salad--the kind with the little pieces of carrot and sweet pickle?? I suspect it was made with miracle whip and I don't eat miracle whip...but that's not what cost them the star!! I just chalk that up to personal taste...not good taste...but not for me. The server offered dessert, cheesecake or peanut butter pie. The owner of this restaurant, btw, owns a bakery. We opted for one of each. My husband got the cheesecake and there was a dried up chunk of something that fell off another dessert!? Nope...his cheesecake was dried out...literally to the point that I could lift it up by the sides and set it back down without my fingers having anything on them--still dry. So I tried my peanut butter pie. Also so dry that I could lift it by the cut sides and thump it on the plate and it didn't even fall apart!!! Shame. On. Them!! The server explained that they were probably in the fridge for "a day or two"...I think possibly more?? They were taken right off the bill, but when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told they don't have one. Please note...for the most part this is a local restaurant we like and frequent. But when you have owners trying to get by with that kind of nonsense, it's an embarrassment! I felt bad for the server and disappointed by this. Hopefully this is a problem they will fix. I'd go for the fish fry again and their beans and greens are crave-worthy. Very cool atmosphere, good service.
