I'll start by saying I'm not a P.F. Chang's guy to begin with. We had a larger group (9) but the service was still very good. The waitress checked on food, refilled drinks, and answered questions routinely without issue. The restaurant was clean and has plenty of open seating available. My reason for the 2 star rating is pricing. We ordered the "2 For $42" and at no point was any of the food worth the $42. The portions of both the dessert and appetizers were small and the quality was average at best. The main course was a good portion size but, again, the quality was sub-par at best. Located at Fairlane mall this restaurant is one of the few that have not closed down. It's in a good location central to several of companies and schools where employees / students would need lunch. I stopped in here for Lunch. They have some newer lunch specials, and that is what I tried. I usually grab the Buddhas feast but this time I opted for the Stir Fried Eggplant, and the egg drop soup. Now the egg drop soup looks brown not the traditional yellow from you typical Chinese restaurant. The stir-fried eggplant is vegetarian and it has a sweet chili sauce. Well it's not just covered in the sweet chili sauce its smothered in the sweet chili sauce, so smothered that the eggplant is super soggy and extra salty and sweet. It is not that spicy as the menu indicates but that could be a to a spice novice, I actually tasted salt over spice. The service was attentive; the bartender kept my water filled and was kind to me and the other patrons. The inside is somewhat dark I was blinded by sunlight when I stepped outside. I myself am not against going to chain restaurants. the problem I have with a lot of them is that they're not consistent between locations. That's one thing that this P.F. Changs suffers from, but I will start with the positives. First off the food is very good. I personally prefer going to local Chinese restaurants but they got the staples you want and the portion sizes are generous. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and attractive and the ambience makes you feel like you're eating at a 5 star place. Having said that the one thing that I like about this restaurant that also hurts it is the menu. It's just too basic in my opinion to justify the high prices. Obviously they are a successful business, but I've had similar or even better orange chicken at half the price at other places. Also I don't like this particular location because of the service. Making a mistake once in awhile is forgivable, but my waitress and another server made multiple mistakes throughout the course of our dinner. One time we asked to get the sauce trio and they didn't get it to us until we asked them two more times. We clearly asked for shrimp dumplings and instead they gave us pork dumplings, which is okay, but the server then tried to tell us he was sure we asked for pork when no one on our table eats it. and then another time they forgot a side of our fried rice for an entree. By the time they got it to us we already finished dinner so we just took it home and it looked like it was sitting around for some time. I went here for my birthday since I enjoy the food so much with my family. I ordered the Tokyo Udon Noodle Bowl and the egg cooked on top of it was undercooked. My dads egg on his Korean Bimbipanp (I have no idea how to spell it) was also undercooked as well, which is kind of disappointing. The only saving grace for my bowl was the steak and was pretty good. The appetizer, which was the lettuce wraps, were as always delicious and has that nice crunch to it. Honestly, the waitress was very slow and it took about a good ten minutes to get our appetizer out and twenty for our lunch. I am overall kinda disappointed of the experience I had at P.F. Lettuce Wraps - Great I highly recommend Northern Style Spare Ribs as an appetizer, they are dry rubbed not too messy. I love PF Changs, I do not like this location. I'm conflicted on how to write this review because I am a big fan of PF Changs but my experience here sucked to be completely honest. Our server sucked, the food was ass and it took almost 2 hours for a party of 3 to eat and pay. Let me go in order. Our waitress was clearly somewhere else in her mind on this afternoon. She was pretty unorganized and frequently absent. Now mind you, I'm not a big service guy. Take my order, get me something to drink, make sure I'm not unhappy and that's pretty much it. I don't need you to put my napkin in my lap and fill up my water every time I take one sip so when I bitch about service you can trust that somebody wasn't hitting their marks. The food was a huge disappointment. I absolutely love PF Changs but I don't make it here very often. It was especially upsetting because I talked everyone out of going somewhere else to come here. First off, everything was luke warm. Everything. We all ordered our favorites and were all disappointed. The big failure of the night was the Mongolian Beef. This literally was like beef jerky. It was sliced so thin it was almost shaved and it was cooked so long that it had the texture of a belt. How can something be burnt and cold? SMH If having a crappy waitress and cold food wasn't bad enough it took FOREVER to get in and out of this place. And there was nobody freaking in here! PF Changs has always been on my favorite restaurant lists. 1. It is Chinese-American cuisine. Don't go expecting large portions, cheap prices, and unique authentic Chinese food. 2. PF Changs cuisine is salty, a tad expensive, come in small portions, and centered around ambiance. We literally just walked out 4 minutes ago after waiting 30 minutes with absolutely no server. It was VERY slow inside the restaurant and I counted at least 5 servers. We were completely ignored once seated. The host had to come and take our drink order. Once she came back she informed us that our server was double seated but YET! Decided to just never come to our table WHATSOEVER! I totally understand being double seated can be unfair but why make me and my children the example? We did not request to double seat you. But what really took me over the edge is that we got up, MORE THAN ONCE to inquire on who was supposed to serve us, and never were we ever addressed by the manager. 30 minutes without any contact with a server AT ALL. And as we left, we were addressed by The girl Who seated us, her response, "I'm sorry, I'm not a server so..." Either there is absolutely no accountability at this Dearborn Fairlane location, or there is just simply no accountability necessary when BLACK people come to dine. One can't say for sure. My husband and I dined at the Dearborn location today for lunch. After we finished eating, I informed the server that I was a PF Chang's Rewards Member. She told me to write down my phone number on my receipt and that she would "take care of it". However, she never gave me a receipt showing that she had actually added the rewards to my account, as servers have in the past. Hours later, I checked my rewards account and today's reward was NOT added! I called the restaurant and attempted to explain the issue to the female who answered the phone. She hung up on me!! Waitress said yes they have this promotion going on then when i got the bill she said oh its not in your rewards.. then she called the manager he said same thing although he graciously took it off the bill and made it as the $5 entree. The best thing about my P.F. Chang's dinner experience was spending it with my daughter. Maybe the hype of the food made me over judgmental, but I was not really impressed with the food, cost, or service. I got the combination pad thai (recommended by our waitress), and my daughter got a tofu, broccoli something or other. Actually, the tofu in her dish was really good! We also got the vegetarian lettuce roll up, which was OK conceptually, but WAY too bland. My pad thai was OK, but again it was extremely bland. The shrimp was good, but the chicken "medallions" were overly cooked and chewy. We were talking and I knew we'd be sitting there for a while, so I tipped a solid 30% when the bill came, and for the next 30 minutes we never saw our waitress again, not even for water refills. My overall impression is that the ambiance is nice, but not worth what you're paying for. read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars because they deserve it. While yelping a nice Chinese place to eat yesterday, we found several other places that had 4-5 stars that were complete dumps. We went inside one on West Road, and we had to walk back out because it felt so filthy. PF Changs on the other hand was the polar opposite of everything you get from most of the other Chinese restaurants. We Had street Noodles and Pan Seared Beef. Probably some of the best Chinese we've ever had, but not what you're traditionally used to at your neighborhood "Asia Express" If you want that don't come here. This is a little more pricey, but you get something nicer that fast food. On the service, the people work their butts off. It was sweetest day and we hadn't made reservations. As I said we were driving around looking for something new. There was a 40 minute wait, so we sat down and ate at the bar. We were taken care of by 3 different people including a Manager in training (lou) He was great, he spent a lot of time with us showing us the menu and explaining the sauces. Captain Carl, took care of our drinks as well. Very friendly service. Where we were sitting was right by the kitchen, I could see inside and it looked to be very clean and well organized. Came here with my husband and 4 children and it was amazing! The food was delicious and served piping hot, and our server was phenomenal! We told her we were in a hurry and she made sure to bring our food out in a timely manner without making us feel rushed. I also would not pick to come here if I was craving some Asian food. The waitress was amazing and sweet. Totally dedicated to the table. Lots of higher up staff lurking around and gave the place a creepy vibe. Lots of noise from the kitchen. Any chance you could get your doors better installed so that they block the sound? Finally the food. Food was at the franchise take out level. But wayyyyyy over priced. 5 dollers to much for a spicy tuna roll. I really have to admit that P.F. Chang's is growing on me. I have never been that crazy about the food but found myself eating there more then planed and enjoying my dinner selections. It always seems that a friend invites me to lunch or dinner and since i'm not a rude eating companion I accept. I have notice that some things are not the highest quality of products. The things I'm referring to would be items that are frozen then fried and then canned sauce added to the wok and mixed. There are some dishes that I think are outstanding such as the Stir Fried Eggplant, the Dan Dan Noodles and the Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wraps . These all seem to have a little higher level of cooking and in my opinion delicious. I really do think they should work on the happy-hour specials. What they offer for app specials is a little embarrassing. They have a selection of dim sum that are around 3 to 4 dollars and come three to an order. They are not that big and you would have to order about three choices to fill up. The other apps are around 6 and 7 dollars and in my estimation your almost better off ordering regular menu items. The prices for drinks are good but I think there are more solid choices in the area. The service has always been great and can't remember the service ever overshadowing the food in a bad way. The restaurants have always have had a nice appeal inside and have a dark intimate atmosphere. I really believe that I'm going to add another star on my next visit if I don't Im sure the other hundred reviewers that love this place will make me. read more

This was the first ever PF Changs I've ever went to and it was okay. The atmosphere was great, lighting was dim, beautiful oriental-style mural on the wall and stuff. The pan-fried Shrimp dumplings are great and I recommend them. I also tried the steamed pork dumplings, which were not bad but I enjoyed the pan-fried flavor better. The sweet and sour chicken was really sweet/syrupy tasting, almost like they splashed some juice in there or something else sugary. But the pepper steak was awesome!. The spoons that came with it are big too so you can take satisfyingly large bites of fried rice and steak. The workers were also kind, and had no issues with them. In the end I'd say it's a bit pricey. If you go to China Wok in the mall (Literally neighboring PF Changs) You can get about the same portions (give or take) for MUCH, MUCH cheaper, China Wok also has better quality in my opinion. read more

I have never had a bad experience at any Chang's until this visit. Our waiter had something on her mind but it wasn't her customers. She would disappear for long periods of time and we couldn't get refills or other requests. She committed the mortal waiter sin by FINALLY bringing our bill, then disappearing for 20 minutes. We couldn't pay. Finally we scrounged together enough cash to pay the bill and leave her a 1% tip. Of course, she then shows up when we are getting out of the booth. On the food side, everything was fine except the shrimp/lobster dish. It was very bland and had nothing except rice and the aforementioned bit of shrimp/lobster. It was very overpriced for what you received. I will continue to eat at Chang's across the country, but this one is marked off my list because of the slouchy service. read more

PF has a good menu. And the allergy menus are specific to each persons allergies. My husbands' street noodles were excellent. However, this location had a few issues during our recent experience. My daughter's tofu was not prepared correctly. The tofu was not cooked very well (must have still been wet when it was "fried"). We took home the tofu to hopefully cook it longer/better at home. I ordered orange peel chicken, and I did not see one orange peel-pretty sure it wasn't really what I ordered (especially since the waiter called out the name of a different menu item when he delivered it ). It was tasty, however. We sat in a booth along the outside windows. Now it was pretty cold and windy outside, so I should have expected this, but cold air was coming in through those windows, not to mention the front door was right in line with our table, so more cold. And lastly - one of my pet peeves - the menu I was using had been splashed with something all over the front of it and had not been wiped off. I give PF Chang's 5 stars for their awesome happy hour! I have stopped in several times after brutal work days which didn't even allow me a lunch break. Therefore I have no photos because I literally scarf down my food as soon as it arrives. Service is always friendly, attentive and prompt. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Happy hour food and drink options are great. I especially enjoy the chicken lettuce wraps, California roll and shrimp or pork dumplings, as well as their wonderful Blackberry spice martini and craft drafts. We were there during this past week for lunch. We had the worst service ever. Our order took over an hour to be delivered to our table. And, they forgot the order of one of our party. She told the waitress to forget it and left. Another member of our party was forced to take it to-go because she had to get back to work. To make the matter more frustrating, we were one of the first parties to arrive when they opened (with reservations) and we saw that tables all around us received their food, ate and left before ours came. This is one of my favorite restaurants that I ha to stop coming to because I was becoming addicted. Decided to eat here on New Year's day and the service was amazing. I haven't been to P.F. Chang's in two years and I'm so happy we decided to eat here today. The food was really good and my sever made sure that my experience was enjoyable. I wanted a specific tea and they where out of it. So the waitress gave me samples until I had the tea that I wanted. By the way my dish was really good and the way I remembered it.
