I have never had a bad experience getting food from them. I have tried a lot of the food options on the menu and you get so much food for such a good price. My takeout box is always so full they need to staple it shut. They no longer do dine in but they do take out and delivery now. They also have the bean sprout egg rolls which I prefer way more than the cabbage ones at other Chinese food restaurants. read more

I ordered my usual order General Tso's Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken and Crab Rangoon's with extra egg rolls. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch of oil that they used to deep fry our things but the egg rolls were burned and the crab rangoon's were so soggy that the disintegrated in my hand when I picked it up. I wouldn't say food poisoning but everyone who ate the food we ordered today felt awful almost instantly age ranging from 50-9 months old. I came on Yelp to find a new Chinese place to get dinner with Jacob in the Dearborn area. This restaurant had good reviews (that weren't all from the vegens/vegetarians) so I thought, what the hey, let's give it a try. It's located in a strip mall, which is usually a no-no for me. When you go inside, it transforms from a crappy strip mall restaurant to a nice sit-down restaurant with fun Chinese art and decor all over. There weren't many people there and it was a Friday night, which is always weird to me. The waitress was very odd. She had absolutely no personality, never smiled and never said thank you. I hate that but at least she got us our drinks. The menu was extensive and well-organized. The prices are about a dollar more than my normal Chinese hang-outs, which kinda annoyed me because I know I'll only eat half of the huge portions (and I don't take leftovers.) Anyway about my 3-star rating... I decided to order the General Tso's chicken dinner and Jacob got the curry chicken. Our soup came out with a American-style dinner roll. The first downside for me is that they do not serve eggrolls with your dinner. I kinda look forward to an eggroll, not a towering dinner roll. The soup was bland and weird. It had undercooked spiral noodles and cubed process chicken. I only took a couple bites. I've had way better chicken noodle soup at Chinese restaurants; they don't even try. The General Tso's chicken was great though! It had a very bold, sweet flavor with a bit of spice. Jacob did not like his curry chicken. He said it didn't have any flavor and I agreed. Plus, the chicken in his dish did not seem very fresh. We were disappointed. Overall, the meal was just "okay." Definitely not the best by far. We decided we'll go back to give it another chance but we'll split a meal so we don't waste $10 on a dish we may not like. read more

I purchased the lo mien deluxe, and sweet & sour chicken combination where you get a roll, egg roll, and fried rice; everything was made fresh, and delicious. This is one of my favorite places to go. I would give them a 5 star, but sometimes the chicken is overcooked, but other than that; I would certainly recommend trying them the food it's delicious. Smh this place is getting worse every time i go now! I been going here for over 20 years food use to very good. I go here because they are the only ones who make my Wonton Soup the way i like it but last two times soup is not hot its just look warm and mushrooms are just raw if the broth was super hot the mushroom would cook some. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai im not sure what kind of nonsense they brought out to me but its not the Pad Thai im use to. When at this place just stick to plain Chinese food don't venture off into Thai food or anything else because you'll be so disappointed oh those chickens on the appetizer side is delicious though. Are you Looking for a quiet not so busy restaurant? Stop by and visit, there were only 5 people in the restaurant when we arrived during the middle of the week. It was great, having the place to ourselves - a few people came in to pick up their carry outs. The food was really good and you had more than enough, in fact, two people could have shared a meal. I ordered won ton soup and not one won ton in the whole soup container. I ordered crashed chicken that was tasteless and no sauce.

Another fave place of everyone I work with. They deliver and they are cheap. That seems to be enough to make the crew happy. Eggrolls are the big universal fave of everyone. Real non packet plum sauce and decent non packet hot mustard will help. The crab rangoons are also highly thought of. Almond chicken or general tsos will work in a pinch. Go for white rice instead of fried though. I always do but even people who normally opt fried choose the white here, just a tip.I tend to stick to the tasty hot and sour or wonton soup myself. I also happen to like those weird ass dinner rolls, its a Detroit style Chinese food staple! If you don't want one, pass me yours and its more for me. Yeesh. The other day I walked into this place for lunch and ordered the chef's special chicken. The proprietor said, "You know, that's our best dish and no one ever orders it. Let me know how you like it." I loved it! An orange-sauce style chicken with carrots and onions. I recommend it. It was thoughtfully pointed out by Hassan A. that the decor in this place is old school. That's part of it's charm. Wood paneling and red leather seats in the booth? I love it. Hassan's right, if this is not your thing skip it but this and Red Star are the best Chinese places in this part of town. Chinese restaurants can basically exist on two tiers, the Chinese-American fast food type places and the places serving authentic food of higher quality of craftsmanship; like the difference between a Shaw brothers kung fu movie and something sensitive and artistic starring Gong Li. Hong Kong is definitely on the former end. But with that said, I love it. And full disclosure, I love Shaw Brothers movies. Good eats. Get the chef's special. read more

I've been here twice now and have not been impressed. Dry meat, weird versions of dishes. They are fast but the food is only ok.

Summary: BLAND Paid $55 for 3 egg rolls, 3 spring rolls, and five entrees, quart-sized: szechuan vegetable, beef with mixed vegetable, chicken with peapods and mushrooms, beef chop suey, and pork fried rice. Not terrible pricing but the food was simply "meh". The pork fried rice was the only one of the five entrees that had any flavor; the others needed salt. The spring and egg rolls were pretty good (and came hot) but also on the bland side. This is unusual for chinese food (or pretty much any restaurant food), and even after adding salt, there simply just wasn't a lot of flavor in the four entrees. Even the szechuan, which is supposed to come spicy, was very bland. They were friendly and fast, but the food quality just isn't there. We won't choose this place again unless we're in a bind. read more

Decent little place, usually don't see many who eat in, you see a lot of people getting to go food; one major advantage they deliver- not sure of the delivery area but it has come in very helpful a time of 2 for me. DO NOT GO HERE!! IT MADE ME AND MY BOYFRIEND SICK!!! My boyfriend and I came here because we were in the area and hungry. He got he curry beef and I got the sesame chicken. We were hopeful because the waitress was very friendly but the first red flags should have been the family that sat in front us leaving as quickly as they could. The sweet and sour soup was like savory jelly pudding. We each got a spring roll and a bread roll. The bread roll was straight up a chunk of Hawaiian bread. The spring roll was mushy and under cooked. The beef curry looked disgusting. He ate a couple bites but I couldn't believe he did. It was green in color and looked like it had a sheen to it. It reminded me of spoiled lunch meat. I ate one piece of chicken and I feel like I'm sick to my stomach. When we got home he immediately threw up so hard he strained muscles in his throat. I've heard about this almond chicken dish from numerous sources including Yelp. I figured that this was my night to try it. I had just observed a double bypass heart surgery and wanted to plug up my coronaries. I've driven by this place numerous times. I went with the dinner combination that included almond chicken, chicken fried rice, an egg roll, egg drop soup and a dinner roll. I also went with an order of chicken wings. The almond chicken was a freaking big ass chicken mcnugget covered in gravy. Seriously. Either there is something very wrong with the populace of Detroit or this place didn't do it right. I'm leaning more towards column A after living here for a month. However, they do score points for using fresh chicken. The chicken fried rice was some of the worst fried rice I have ever had. It tasted like they had used old soy sauce or something of that nature. There were no vegetables in the fried rice either or discernible chicken. Call me an idealist, but egg rolls should not have bean sprouts in them. Also, bean sprouts should not make up the majority of the content of an egg roll. Not good. The won ton soup actually tasted fresh and was the highlight of the meal.
