So why did I change my 5 stars to 2 stars? After a pleasant call and working out a deal on the phone, I loaded up my trailer to pick up my purchase. Well, the deal changed by $149 and exceeded my limit. Kermit denied what he said on the phone. It wasn't really the money as much as the disrespect. I guess it makes a difference when the owner is not on site. In fairness he sent a text offering to accept a check for the original amount if I would come back. I already spent 3 hours on this, so I countered I would have a check ready if he delivered. No answer..... I'll include my original review from my previous visits below. Awesome Yanmar dealer. Carries Husqvarna too. Just used the service department. Just as awesome as Sales and Parts. Sad how things change.

What a joke this place is. We have used these guys before and they were alright, but this time…read morearound we received such terrible customer service. I called the day before and they told me they would for sure be able to fit me in today. When I called in the morning they said that they'd be there in the afternoon. I called again and they said between 1-5pm. I was annoyed, but I get it things happen. After 5pm I'm still patiently waiting and someone finally shows up, with the worst attitude possible around 5:30ish. He doesn't tell me anything about what the issues were, doesn't tell me the cost prior to completing the repair- nothing. He was just throwing a tantrum the whole time( maybe he was supposed to be off, idk) This is where I felt the MOST disrespected. When I asked what the issue was and what all parts needed to be replaced all he said was, " I dug it up, found the leak and fixed it." Cool- like can you be more specific since i told you where the leak was? Then his crappy attitude came back out so I just left it alone. I asked for the receipt and for him to write down the issue on the receipt - legit writes down the same thing.. and this is where it gets good- CHARGES ME 5 dollars for the receipt?! What the heck?! I felt like I was being scammed for the service so of course I wanted the receipt so I paid for the receipt. Wild, I know. But anywho- don't use the Waterloo location. Crappy service, disrespectful, and will scam you.

They all seem to love plants themselves and own ones that thrive under their care. They are always open to answer questions about plants that arent even bought in their store. They always take great care of their plants and have a fun variety! The prices are higher than other places but you are getting a healthy plant. You can also find great soil and fertilizer here, along with fun pots. I have stuck to strictly buying houseplants because that's my jam, but they have a great outdoor selection in the spring and summer. I highly recommend. Even though it is a chain, you can see the passion that these people put into their work.

Keep in mind, these are not the same folks as Davison's Nursery on Memorial. They are related by blood but no longer affiliated. While selection is superior here, prices are much better on Memorial. If you are looking for landscaping perennials, shrubs and trees, go elsewhere since there is little of that here.

I recently took up succulents keeping as a hobby even though my thumbs are far from green. My first…read morebaby succulents were adopted from Walmart and Lowe's so this was the first time venturing out to a plant nursery. As always, I conferred with Yelp and decided on Calvert's. The first thing I noticed was how charming it looked from the road. We turned into the nursery and down a path full of gorgeous ceramic plant pots of all sizes and colours. Parking was ample and convenient. As we entered the green house we were greeted by a friendly "hello". My eyes lit up at all the pretty decorations, plants, and flowers as I scanned for succulents. All their plants look well cared for. Green and luscious. Healthy. There were many succulent varieties and I felt like a kid in a candy shop. As I'm fairly new to the hobby (been at it for just a month) I wanted baby succulents as I love to feel accomplished tending to them and seeing them grow. They had many 4-inch pot plants but very few 2-inchers. Still, I managed to find a baby bear's paw and cobweb plant I wanted. We went up to pay and the staff/cashiers were happy and friendly. Such a nice atmosphere! It must be so calming and pleasant to be among plants and flowers everyday for them I'm definitely coming back to check out their succulents again.
