Sadly everything was false. The beef was one of the worst I've ever had...any mom and pop hood spot could match or beat it. The polish was long and skinny and unremarkable as well. I ordered butter garlic fries that tasted exactly like regular fries...which was also a first. I know they were not regular fries because those came with my polish and were even worse. This place is jokingly slow...they messed my order up as I should have had another Italian beef and the staff was pretty unprofessional as they got super heated over the cashier not helping the cooks...it was bad. This place is bad...almost anyplace else is better...hell McDonald's is better.

So I decided to try the Italian beef and the Chicago hotdog (plant-based). I ordered the regular size Italian beef and could only eat half. The inside was very spacious. A lot of decor on the wall. I would recommend if you're looking for a fast food burger/hotdog establishment.

Enough is enough. I…read morehave had it with the Portillo's in Homewood. This isn't about one bad experience. This is about a pattern of mistakes that has gone on for far too long. We have continued to give this location chance after chance because we genuinely like Portillo's, but every single visit seems to come with a new problem. At some point, enough is enough. Today's order was the final straw. We ordered: * Two double cheeseburgers: * One with NO mayo. Of course, it had mayo. * One with NO lettuce. Of course, it had lettuce. * One chicken sandwich with NO mayo. You guessed it, it had mayo. * And to top it all off, the "double" cheeseburgers weren't even doubles. They were singles. This isn't a small mistake. It's an order where almost everything was wrong. And this is nothing new. Over the years we have: * Had to drive all the way back because items were missing from our order. * Received soft drinks that turned out to be nothing but carbonated water because the syrup had run out. * Waited 30 to 40 minutes in the drive thru, which completely defeats the purpose of fast food. * Dined inside only to find sticky tables and empty utensil dispensers. None of these things by themselves would make me swear off a restaurant. But when they happen over and over again, they paint a picture of a location that simply does not care about quality, accuracy, or the customer experience. It's disappointing because Portillo's has built a reputation for great food. Unfortunately, the Homewood location consistently fails to live up to that reputation. We have spent our last dollar at this location. I sincerely hope management takes a hard look at what's happening because loyal customers can only overlook so much before they decide they're done. Sadly, we're done.

Called the restaurant and spoke to a belligerent manager who informed me that he has no say so regarding what's on the menu at Uber Eats. What manager just substitutes something without informing the customer? Also, who doesn't have the ability to UPDATE the menu? Sorry, we're out of burgers, here's a fish sandwich instead. Really? Furthermore, he informed me that Mango Habanero has not been on the menu for over a year. Let that sink in. I asked for a refund and was refused. Thankfully Uber Eats was able to assist. Secondly, the cheese fries just sucked. Soggy, undercooked fries with a minimal amount of cheese. Not only is the food quality atrocious, but the customer service is non-existent. I will never order from here again and I urge everyone to avoid this establishment as if it were the plague. Negative 5 stars if I could offer it. Zero quality, zero care, zero compassion for the customer. EDIT: The company sent back the Uber driver with a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's sauce (Denied).
