Last night in Paris I wanted to indulge in some great arab halal food, the reviews are great…read morehere....don't be fooled - THEY'RE FAKE! Upon arriving, I waited at the front for a few minutes before anybody even acknowledged me, once we sat down we waited another 10 minutes to even get a menu. They don't have enough menus, so we had to wait for the table next to us to finish with the menu before the waiter handed us their menus. Once we chose what we wanted, we waited another 5-10 minutes before we had to flag a waiter to take our order. We also didn't get any water/drinks for about half an hour after sitting down. The restaurant smells like sweat...and they do NOT give free water at all. The room is TOO loud, there's loud music, loud bar sounds and just overall loud general noises. Also the hostess wearing black yelled at multiple waiters a few times in front of guests so that was weird... Anyways, on to the food..... Portions are TOO small, ridiculously overpriced. The food didn't come out at the same time, one of six of us nearly finished her food before the rest of us got anything. The table besides us, had 5, and only 2 received their food and finished it completely before the other 3 received their food. We ordered 2 of the same plate, and only one came. Unfortunately for me I was the odd one out waiting another 14 minutes for my plate. The only positive, the food was actually good. It wasn't amazing, but it was good, except one of my kafta's was raw. They also offered us tea in the end to compensate for the awful service, just for them to never give it. Overall, congrats to this restaurant! This takes the cake as the WORST restaurant I've ever been to. Dreadful service and ambiance. Please come here if you want to lose your mind.

Looking at the photos of Istanbul, it has to be the same place, with the fabulous deli case. We had the hummus, tarama (pink caviar dip) and tzatziki with plentiful pita bread. All three were outstanding! We also had the chicken kebob and lamb kebob. Which were fine, but it was the dips that blew me away. I wish I'd had time to try other items in that deli case--it would be perfect to carry back to an Airbnb with a fridge. To top it off the waitress, manager, owner was so friendly and working non-stop. I found it by walking past it on the street while exploring the shops and restaurants on Rue St. Jacques. I looked up, saw the bright new sign and looked through the window. When I saw the deli case, I was sold.

What a visually wonderful place. I ordered the mixed meat plate and my girlfriend ordered the two meet plate with chicken and lamb. Both plates where very tasty and a great option for lunch. It wasn't too heavy and gave us energy for a full day of walking. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting the area. Sit down, order some wine, eat some food and enjoy the scenery!

We started out with some kibbeh and lamachun. Both were wonderful and better than some of the same dishes we had in Turkey. I decided to have a little French flair and opted for some steak. It was an enormous portion and came with a delicious salad, some sauteed vegetables and frites. There was also a pepper sauce for the steak. It was all very good. The salad and veggies were delicious and the steak was well prepared....the "au poivre" sauce was also wonderful. I liked the fries but there was so much food I couldn't finish. We literally could have split this meal. Service was very friendly-could be that we ordered everything in Turkish rather than French or English-and we left happy and satisfied.

It's a Kurdish restaurant in a gritty part of Paris that sells dürüm wraps, which are essentially a Turkish street food made by rolling soft flatbread around grilled meat and fresh vegetables. After a rough first meal in the City of Light that was a €50 half chicken, my soul needed this. Everything is made to order right in front of your face, and it SHOWS. We went with a chicken and a beef durum that ran €9.50, which gave my Chase Sapphire Preferred card a much needed breather. I'm struggling to find adjectives that describe how good this soft flatbread was, and I'm rarely at a loss for words. The best I can come up with is "tangibly fresh." I preferred the beef to the chicken, as it almost melted in your mouth. So damn tender. Whenever anyone asks me for a Paris rec, Urfa Dürüm will be right near the top of my list. He rolls them out, places them in oven and tosses the final product across the restaurant to a colleague who wraps them. Salad, veggies and hot meat is added, wrapped up and hand delivered to you. After a long day and…read more15K+ steps later, Mink decided to just stay in at the hotel so I decided to eat nearby just in case she needed me. After looking at multiple options, Grill Istanbul caught my eye. Everything looked good and it was something different. When you enter, you see the dining area to your left and in front of you. On the right is where they prepare your order and the cashier with a giant menu board above. Don't worry if you don't speak French. I anticipated that they may not speak English here so I took screenshots of what I wanted prior to coming so I could show them a photo of what I wanted to order. Google Translate was my backup plan. It turns out the menu item is called the Grillade Mixte. After ordering, they ask if you want it to go or dine in. I dined in so they told me where to sit and someone brought my order to me. It came with a basket of complimentary pide. Portions are very generous and the food was amazing! I can see why they were extremely busy and have so many rave reviews. Never thought in my life I would come to Paris to eat Turkish food but I'm so glad I found this place.
