The sliders were solid, especially the one with bacon. They were the perfect size. The hot dog was very big! The crab soup might have been the best item though; it was creamy and just the right amount of mild kick to add something unique and tasty. Every time I've stopped by the truck, the food has been a cut above what you'd expect. We also hired them to cater my wife's graduation party after she earned her doctorate in nursing, and they absolutely nailed it. The food was incredible across the board -- every dish was fresh, well-prepared, and our guests couldn't stop talking about it. They made an already special celebration even more memorable. Whether it's a quick lunch from the truck or a full catering spread for a big event, I'd recommend Palmetto Bay Cuisine without hesitation. These folks know what they're doing.

I called several times that week and they never answered their phone (seemed as if they had gone out of business) I paid over $60 for my meal and by the time i was finally able to get someone on the phone, they were both rude. I gave it a try and had four deliveries. I'm waiting for my last one next week since I've already…read morecancelled my account. Overall, the food was decent for prepared meals and met my dietary needs. However, there were two big issues that ultimately made me switch to another service. 1. The website The website is very confusing. When I tried to change my meals, the new selections wouldn't save. There is just too much going on, and something that should be simple becomes unnecessarily complicated. Eventually, I gave up and just accepted the preselected meals. And I used to be a web designer, so I generally know how to find my way around pretty much any technology. If I gave up, I can only imagine how frustrating it might be for someone less comfortable with websites and apps. 2. The biggest issue -- delivery This was ultimately the dealbreaker for me. My last three orders arrived so messy that I was actually disgusted to touch the containers. They are not properly sealed, so the liquid leaks out, the food gets shaken and mixed together, and some of the meals arrive looking like porridge. I had to wrap each container in plastic before putting it in my refrigerator because everything was wet and messy. The paper sleeves around the containers would arrive soaked, dirty and literally falling apart. I don't know if this is just happening with my deliveries or if other customers are experiencing the same thing. My most recent delivery did have some additional cushioning placed on top inside the shipping box, which was an improvement, but that doesn't really solve the problem. The individual meals still aren't secured inside the box, so they get shaken around during transportation and the contents leak and mix together. After three deliveries like this, I gave up. The food itself was decent, but the delivery and packaging problems were enough for me to cancel and switch to another service.

Shredded chicken was all right (a bit dry, in my opinion), but ground beef and sweet plaintains were great. The beef one is my favorite by far -- very juicy and flavorful! The sweet plaintains one was pretty unique, both sweet and savory. The texture of the pastry was crispy, and the accompanying cilantro lime sauce complemented the pastelitos well. Only con is that they take a pretty long time to make (maybe 20 minutes?), but the vendor makes everything, including the pastry dough, from scratch, so I can't complain about the fresh quality. Next time, I'll try their empanadas, which look delicious. Great friendly service.
