I went to Oz salon two weeks ago for a hair cut. I have been growing my hair out for OVER TWO YEARS from a very short cut. I wanted a fresh new cut and decided to try out the new salon. When I went to Oz, my hair was about shoulder length. I brought several pictures of Katie Holmes' hairstyle at different angles and asked the stylist for a similar bob style with long layers. She CHOPPED and CHOPPED and CHOPPED until I was left with barely any hair left. She gave me a pixie cut style (think Emma Watson, Carey Mulligan, or Alyssa Milano) that has some longer pieces in the front. I cried my eyes out all evening. When I returned to the salon the next day in tears, one of the stylists told me that I was given a "trendy" look called the "stacked haircut". I didn't ask for trendy or for a stacked haircut, I asked for a bob with long layers and brought several pictures with me that illustrated exactly what I wanted. To Oz's credit, they did give me a refund that day. It was obvious that I was blatantly given a cut that I DID NOT ASK FOR so the stylists were very nice and accommodating. I'm 24-years-old and have been growing my hair out since I graduated college. I am absolutely DEVASTATED that this inexperienced stylist (she was quite young) ruined my hair. It is going to take me years to grow out what she has done. Although I did get a refund, the $28 dollars isn't going to bring my beautiful hair back any time soon. I Had my hair cut from Taylor the other day which you can obviously tell its uneven. I work for Patchogue Medford school district and all the teachers I work with noticed my haircut and commented on the cut, they all told me to go back and say something. All I wanted was for her to fix my hair or give me a refund not an argument. I showed up with no appointment on a Monday morning when they opened at 10am. Jen had just opened up and was professional, friendly and took me without an appointment. Being new to the area I was thrilled to find a salon open on a Monday! The salon is beautiful, clean, well lit, comfortably air conditioned with music that is not too loud! In the entry way they offer some jewelry for sale that appears to be handmade, some other small accessories like scarves and hats.It all was really pretty and the pricing was very competitive. Everything looked brand new! As I was having a consultation about color, highlights, cut and style other clients came in that did have appointments so I could see that she fit me in, but was very professional about it. They also had a large selection of magazines and offered me coffee, tea or bottled water. Jen took the time to do a full color consult for base color and highlights. She did an excellent job in toning down the natural red in my hair as well as coloring the gray. She also did a great job on the highlights. Once the color was all set, she discussed the cut and style with me to be sure I was going to get exactly what I wanted. Overall I was very impressed with the salon, staff and even the pricing. I stopped by this place the other day to check it out after reading about it in a local paper. This place is NICE. Brand new, clean, priced right, courteous staff and a very inviting and comfortable atmosphere. Methinks I have found a newplace to get my haircuts at. As said, this place is brand new, and you can tell the new owners spared no expense. Everything was top of the line and the service was top-notch. Go check it out. You won't be disappointed. Parking isn't an issue, price is right, handicapped accesible. I really couldn't find a single flaw with this place. Plus, they said that once it gets warmer, they're going to have BBQ and soft drinks for their clients. How can you beat that? read more

I made an appointment 6 months in advance for my daughters Bat Mitzvah. We were getting updoes and make up done. My daughter wanted a simple braid design. Two days before my appointment they called me and said they could not accommodate me. I was very upset and my daughter was brought to tears. This braid was so simple I learned it from u tube in 5 mins, I just wanted my 13 year old to feel special having her hair and make up done for this very special day. Who does that?! If they couldn't do it they should have told me when I went there and showed them the photos..now I am scrambling around looking for a Saturday morning appointment on Thursday. Thankfully I found one. It cost a little more but it was totally worth it. Because of this not only did they loose out on a $400.00 appointment but they also lost customers, not to mention made a little girl cry. Great way to do business oz!
