The rooms were lovely, with comfortable beds and couches and fridges stocked with filtered water. The little garden outside was beautiful, with a tiny fountain stocked with goldfish which I had to stop and visit on the way in and out each day. The inn isn't right in the heart of town, which meant it was a lot quieter, which was nice for what we needed. Most of the restaurants were a 15-20 minute walk from where we were staying. The entire walk was full of little shops and galleries-- no hardship to wander past those again and again. Breakfasts were spectacular-- multi course affairs with fantastic coffee and amazing locally pressed juice. Fresh baked scones and gorgeous fruit tarts and shakshukas. All delicious. The entire experience was just beautiful. It sounds a little cliché, but it really did feel more like being invited to stay with your eclectic aunt than it did like a hotel stay. Just wonderful.

Wonderful hosts--a couple who know the area well and can advise regarding beaches, local restaurants, and other attractions. Good conversation--only when we sought it. Only down-side for me: spotty T-Mobile reception, but that was a problem in that part of the Cape. They do have wifi and Internet.

There were no employees about the place; it was all self-serve. The walls and woodwork in our room were cracked and peeling, the shower and room floor were dirty and most of the all white linen and towels had stains on them. They had pillow shams on the 4 pillows on the bed, but no pillow cases. Most importantly, there was no smoke detector in our room, just an empty bracket. This was very surprising, given their experience with a fire in their place in 2023. The Brekkie place next door where we had breakfast included in the cost of our room was cold each day. I do not recommend this place and hope it gets better.

Justifying why she gave this B&B a one star review when she never even stayed there, I actually stayed a week with my three girls. Not sure why Yelp even allows this neuroticism. Location was good and central. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Beds were Goldilocks firmness. Breakfast baskets were abundant and healthy. Owners Grant & John were very nice and knew all about the area with great recommendations. Wonderfully run local business. I look forward to staying here again.

I found them extremely accommodating and easy to talk to. From the moment we checked in, at breakfast, throughout the day and when we checked out, every interaction was calm, caring, engaging and thoughtful. I found a great deal for the Penny House on Living Social and was so glad that I purchased it and went to visit. Upon entering, the atmosphere was clean, stylish and very comfortable. I was extremely impressed (except that the artwork in the living room was not my taste at all- but that's a personal thing) Otherwise, the layout was large and felt really spacious, there were lots of windows letting in plenty of natural light. Because we were there during the off-peak season we had a choice of rooms and chose to stay in the Captains Quarters which was UNREAL!!! Talking to the new owners, I know they are planning on updating all the rooms but as it was, we were extremely happy. We completely fell in love with this room. Full of old world charm, dark wood panelling, dark rustic wood beams, 4 post king sized bed! The room had comfortable chairs, fireplace, separate bathroom and the most unbelievable spa tub I have ever soaked in. We made sure to use the tub every night we were there, especially after our day of hiking around Provincetown on the beach and in the dunes. So good for sore muscles. The breakfasts were great! We were served homemade granola, yogurt, eggs, bacon and either waffle or pumpkin pancakes and everything was so tasty. There were also cookies and scones complimentary and you could help yourself to tea or coffee throughout the day. I felt so at home here, I didn't want to leave. The last day that I was there, I treated myself to 90 min massage in their amazingly beautiful spa. I had a great treatment and I am extremely picky. (this is coming from a fellow Licensed Massage Therapist) Janet really did a great job working specific points and areas of my body to release tension while giving a fantastic overall relaxation treatment. The spa itself is beautiful, the owner told me it's the first thing they renovated when the purchased the Penny House in June. It's tastefully decorated in a modern yet calming style, the colors and decor are warm and soothing, with another beautiful jet tub, two massage tables, a fire place and great amenities. I'm already trying to plan my next visit to Penny House Inn & Spa- I can't wait to go back and relax, hopefully for more than just two nights next time.

Comfortable, clean, charming, and all in a great location. The Inn staff were extremely kind and accommodating. They explained everything we would need to know and were easy to communicate with via text. When you walk into your room, you are welcomed with a personalized card and box of chocolates from a local chocolate shop (it's really good chocolate too). The breakfast every morning was in 3 courses: a bundt cake, a fruit, and then the entree. They were very accommodating with my husband's food allergies. They tend to stay away from nuts in their dishes. Rooms were freshened up every day. The Inn is a great location to be in- there are many things to do in the area. Easy drive to Provincetown, Brewster, Coast Guard Beach, and Nauset Light House (the Cape Cod chips lighthouse haha). About an hour to get to Falmouth if you wanna go to Martha's Vineyard. We enjoyed that hour ride to go through different towns. I would 100% recommend this Inn to anyone coming to Cape Cod!

The marsh views are stunning and the panorama is exceptionally wide. The amount of space to roam makes you feel one with nature while still safely knowing your car is 150 yards away. I actually enjoy this spot a bit more in the winter. Come summer, the amount of bugs that yearn for your flesh can kind of soil the experience. The bugs want my blood, it's pretty tasty (I've tried it), but you end up slapping yourself on the legs for 30 minutes instead of enjoying the view. The path around the hill and along the marsh is quite long, so you can carve out an hour to enjoy it. Apparently there is a bathroom nearby, but damned if I've ever seen one. While this trail isn't "unknown" by any means, there are rarely many of people like most overlooks/attractions on the Cape. This primarily attracts locals, photographers, and people just looking to have a quiet moment. Add it to your itinerary for your next pass through Eastham!

A trail for hiking…read moreand looking The Fort Hill Trail is actually a serious of trails, including the Red Maple Trail. The area is sometimes called the Fort Hill Historic District and includes the old Captain Penniam House. It's a great place to spend a day. It's not the greatest place for strenuous hiking because the trails are relatively short, although if you include the walk along the ocean you can get a pretty good workout. The area is more for looking and understanding. Cape Cod is a terminal moraine, which means this is the place where the glaciers stopped about fifteen thousand years ago and all the rocks and dirt just dropped as the two mile high glaciers retreated. It's is a geologist's dream with evidence of the glaciers everywhere. Look around and you will see kettle holes where blocks of ice got caught and left huge depression in the land when they melted, some half a mile across Look some more and you will notice lots of glacial debris, erratics, kames and large boulders everywhere. Irregular pamets meander around like they aren't sure which way to go. Look more closely and you will notice a huge boulder with deep scratch and gouge marks. Probably a spot where native Americans sharpened their weapons. If you aren't interested in the geology you can enjoy the huge variety of wildlife, trees and flowers. Or perhaps the fantastic views of the barrier island, swamps, fields, marshes or ocean. Unfortunately some of the indigenous wildlife includes large biting flies. On some days the horrid creatures are so bad that even with deet the area is virtually impassable. Come back a week later and the flies are gone. I suspect the little bastards all hatch at once then lay eggs and die and a new batch quickly grows and looks for blood. If you enjoy history the Captain Penniam House, with it's cool whale bone arch is just down the street.
