I had the lobster nachos and my husband had the swordfish sandwich, both were delicious! Fair warning the lobster nachos are huge and have a good deal of lobster on them! We sat by the beach so our son was able to play around in the sand and expel some energy while we waited for our food. Our waitress was amazing with him. When she brought out his mac & cheese, she called him up to eat, joking she was going to eat it if he didn't come quick. She saved us the hassle of attempting to get him up from the beach. She also took him to wash his hands before eating, as he had sand all over them. It was such a pleasant experience, with great food. I highly recommend Chatham Bars Inn for their food quality and service!

We started with the raw bar: oysters, clams and tuna tartar. Then moved on to steamers and mussels. We finished with steak and swordfish. After a very satisfying meal, with attentive staff, we relaxed on the beach next to a bonfire with Smores for the kids. The kids then all banned together for a game of hide and seek in the dark while the parents relaxed with a night cap. It was a truly wonderful experience. A must do for anyone visiting the cape.

The best location for Chatham. Within walking distance of the little town, but there is a car…read moreservice. Our room had the best view. We were across the street and had an ocean front window view. Didn't realize we'd be walking across the street. That was not a problem for us. We were told that bellhops will drive you over if need be. Love the double sinks and refrigerator in the room. The wild caught smoked salmon at breakfast time is absolutely delicious. Some of the best I've ever tasted. You must try the special drink in the bar room with the fireplace. It's delicious and they shake it using a special patented machine. The machine is a hoot. They have the best wild salmon for breakfast. The wait staff needs training though. Service was not good. Also, the young man who is new (I won't mention his name here) was very green and didn't really know what he was doing. We had problems with his lack of knowledge and so did other people. The many lounges and bars are just so welcoming. Really enjoyed that aspect. Thank you to the Katherine Hawk for the lovely welcome gift. It was greatly appreciated! It seems like a very popular location even on the off-season. Many weddings and dinners so be prepared there might be a crowd. (Reduced a star because of the wait staff and problems at the front desk.) p.s. always appreciate the robes and slippers AND the Dyson hairdryer.

Maybe this was a nice hotel 20+ years ago, but not so much now…read more Our "ocean view cottage" was hundreds of yards from the beach and showed only the tiniest strip of the Atlantic. It was shabbily furnished with cheap and tattered furnishings and the roughest towels I've seen outside of a hospital. Moreover, the place reeked of mildew. We stayed off-season and were not able to take advantage of summer amenities, but there was exactly zero to do on site in October other than buying overpriced food and cocktails. The hotel did not offer even the most basic hospitality essentials: no water in the main lobby, no one offered to bring bags to your room. Products at the spa were from the pharmacy and not even placed in pretty packaging. We had dinner at the Chatham Bars Inn farm and were told we had to arrange our own transportation. It would have been nice if the hotel offered a car or shuttle service to the event. Stars only for several lovely staff members, I apologize for forgetting their names! Shout outs to the concierge (young woman from New Haven), the breakfast staff (even though we were told the meal was included in our stay, which it wasn't), the guys at the coffee bar, and Sara who gave the best massage I've ever had. We still had a nice weekend, but we are feeling a little ripped off overall

Jennifer is a wonderful host and is so helpful on the property and what's going on around town. The area is quiet, clean, peaceful. The cottages are fully furnished with all you need in the kitchen. Each cottage is appointed with everything, outdoor showers, bbq grill even charcoal to get you started. And they are Clean. This matters. Some cape cabins or rooms tend to be musty or messy. Sorry, but I've been coming here for 45 years and nothing's changed. Cottage grove cottages are impeccable. This is a quiet refuge from kiddos. Sorry, but that's my take on it. There is no pool, no playground, none of that. Plenty of those elsewhere and that's where the kids are. Go enjoy that if that is what you need. This is quiet and wonderful for adults, couples, singles, artists, empty nesters or anyone wanting to get away from screaming, kids crying and yelling, parents, cursing, car horns.... Ah. Back to serenity. Isn't that better? This is the best there is. Close enough to PTown, Wellfleet and Truro. Go to Nauset lobster pool, get a few and bring it back for a nice dinner on your picnic table. Stars are out. You got back from free music on the beach. We spent the week here in the Beach House and it was paradise. Our own patio, steps onto the beach with a breathtaking view was just what the doctor ordered. We were greeted warmly and brought to our room upon arrival and were on the beach lounging within minutes. The owner, Peter, was always around working on something! It is super clear he loves what he does and cares deeply about his guests. He gave us some great recommendations for eateries (devils purse brewery being my favorite!) and always was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. Each morning from 8-10 they serve a nice continental breakfast. My husband and I were go each morning, eat and then take a nice long walk on the beach with our coffee. The private beach already has chairs and umbrellas so no need to bring your own, they set them up each morning and take them down each evening. The inn is also within walking distance to many great shops/restaurants. We went to many of them! The kite shop was super cool and we were able to grab souvenirs for the littles back home. After dinner, come back to the inn for a fire on the patio! I very much hope to return here. I am so thankful we found this and splurged for the beach house room! Restaurant recommendations: The Ocean House, Cape Sea Grill, Perk Coffeehouse, Devils Purse Brewing, Sundae School Ice Cream, APT Cape Cod
