Lobster poutine
Lucia L.

Oyster Boy is a casual place on Queen West. I made a reservation in advance by leaving a voicemail and they gave me a call back the next day. It is a small spot with narrow aisles and high chairs FYI. We got a selection of the east coast oysters from small to gigantic ones. I've never had such big oysters before so it was really interesting! Their oysters were so fresh. We also got: - halibut salad (halibut was fried and but dry but the greens were delicious) - crab cakes (must get, so yummy) - lobster poutine (this is more like lobster bisque on fries with super stretchy cheese. For me this was more like try once in my life kind of thing, don't expect a traditional poutine gravy and I personally prefer an original poutine with no toppings. The lobster bits were very yummy though)

Seafood tower ($110) - 3 stars

4 of us came here on a Tuesday night, it was pretty busy, good thing we made a reservation. COVID Protocol: You have to sign do an online form before being seated. Service: (4 stars) The waiter was friendly but very busy, running around trying to get everyones ordered. They have a two hour time limit (repeated multiple times and the waiter started prematurely removing some plates as a sign to show us we should leave soon). It took a long time for the food to arrive, so I do not think it was really fair to put any pressure on us. (-2 star) I do have to give huge props to the waiter who told us not to order Deep Fried Oysters as they were not good. (recovered one of the lost stars for honesty) Ambiance: (3 stars) The place is very small and feels cramped. (The covid protocols are en-force so you have empty tables between each row) But the tables are insanely narrow. We ordered food to share and barely had space for our small plates and drinks when 1 order of food came in. Food: (3 stars - with room for improvement) - Grilled Squid (5 stars) - $25 - the best thing we have tried, they were perfectly cooked with a great flavour of chorizo to accompany the roasted endive. - Oyster boy fries (4.5 stars) - $8 - They were fries - Steamed mussels and clams (3 stars)- $20 - It was good but nothing outstanding, would not order again. - Seafood Tower (2.5 stars) - $110 This is more fancy than good. The lobster (the tail and the claws were good (although for some reason the claws were not attached to the crab) were the edible part, the rest was thrown away. The cevice was the best part of this tower. Included were 6 shrimp (they were ok, no sauce, nothing to make them memorable) The oysters were tasty, but did not have the sauce or horse radish to go with them. The crab legs were good. - Steamwhistle draft - (5 stars) $8.50 for a pint, props to them for fulling the glass to very brim. Things I would try next time: Arctic Char - was recommended by our waiter but we were too full. Fish Tacos PEI Lobster Mac and Cheese Seafood Chowder

A cozy unpretentious oyster bar. We were party of 3 and received comp oysters because we waited a bit for our table and made a rsvn. It was only a few min wait but they provided free oysters anyway as an apology. That was such a nice gesture as it was not necessary. Everything I tried was delicious. I enjoyed my fish n chips as a main. The oysters Rockefeller and fried oysters were divine. Oysters were fresh and amazing. Our server was gracious and charming. I have nothing negative to say for this place.

The awesome oysters!

This place has the best oysters I've ever had. There's a reason I come here yearly as a birthday tradition. The main courses are pretty good. Though in all honestly the lobster poutine was fine, but not out of this world. A little too salty for me. But, I wasn't upset. My parents had the fish and chips and I had some of it and it was fantastic. Next time I'll get that. I don't know how to describe the oysters but they are amazing. I'm not sure what to get and I usually just ask for whatever they recommend and I'm happy. Also, the desert is amazing. I cleaned the plate dry on my creme brûlée. One of the city's best.

The oyster is fresh Seafood chowder... not good, too peppery and wayyyyy to many veggies, there are 3 diff types of peppers, carrots, corn and potato but I did not witness any seafood. The chowder was watery. I would not recommend

Amazing place for fresh and delicious seafood. Everything is super tasty and satisfying. - Cacio e Pepe Brussels Sprouts: Love the grated grana padano melted on the charred Brussels sprouts. - Whole PEI Lobster: Big and meaty lobster. It's served chilled with meat separated (makes it easier to eat), on a bed of shredded lettuce. It comes with 2 sauces: lemon aioli and seafood sauce (tastes like shrimp cocktail sauce). - Lobster Roll: You can ask for the chopped pickles to be served separately if you're not a fan of pickles. This is ok... I like that there is a good amount of lobster meat and it's not too saucy. But the bun is just plain regular hot dog bun. - Grilled Squid: Comes in 3 big chunks of squid, on a bed of leeks (sometimes it's endive or other greens they have for the day). The marinade sauce is very flavourful. - Crab Kale Caesar with Chickpea Croutons: Love this salad! Subtle but delicious taste with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. The chickpea croutons are perfectly seasoned and crispy.

First plate of oysters. Yummy.

Amazing evening at Oyster Boy. We enjoyed a local wine served in a 200ml bottle and a cider. Both hit the spot with a dozen fresh oysters. We also had Oysters Rockefeller, lobster poutine, and Thai basil pesto mussels. Thanks to the staff for impeccable service and delicious seafood. Highly recommended.

Excellent service and attentive waiter. Good oysters and delicious fries and tuna. It was busy for a Monday and nice to see people eating out and supporting this business. Been here three times and it has a great ambiance and very clean! Thank you

Excellent Oyster selection. Staff was nice and friendly, but you need to be proactive to get service. Lobster biscuits have a nice touch but could add a bit more lobster and a bit less salt to perfection. Taco shells are too raw and tough, but overall, the taste is good. Restaurant decor has a very nice touch even in the restroom. It is a fun place to stop by for oysters. No wonder it's been around for so long. Will I return, definitely maybe!!

2lb lobster ($45) with side brussel sprouts ($6)
Corina Q.

We ordered a dozen raw oysters and a 2 lb lobster with a side of brussel sprouts, and our bill came out to about $112. We got two types of oysters - both on the sweeter side, and both were good. They came with hot sauce, ?????, and ????. My family seemed to like these very much. The 2 lb lobster was huge, and very meaty, with lemon and butter to dip. The meat was soft and easy to eat, and the lemon & butter made them 100% tastier. The side of brussel sprouts was actually my favorite part (which is surprising because I usually hate them with a passion). They were honey roasted, with a crisp outside, but soft center.

Tobias was our server and he was amazing. Everything he recommended was delicious. This was our first time here and the food and service was amazing! We definitely will be back and hopefully we get Tobias as our server

Love this place!!! Ill be back again for sure! Their oysterS are sO fresh! , so much variety, and shucked right infront of you. This time I mainly focused on oysters not so much on the cooked menu. Tried the Charcuterie board that had delicious pickled beans and artichoke hearts, smoked sturgeon, blue cheese, patè and smoked salmon sammies!!! The server are so kind and attentive too. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

oysters of course!

Ambience is simple, Nordic style, minimalist but chic. On to the good stuff, the food. We started with the Sicilian Crudo featuring Hiramasa (so tender), King Salmon, and Bluefin Tuna All the fish was so incredibly fresh and delicious. The Steak tartare was luxurious and the pickles added a nice contrast to the richness of the beef fat toast. The bread and butters are a fun additoin to try the different types of butters. We had a salad that was good, but not overly memorable. We also had an incredible tuna tartare as well with a cucumber granita that was so refreshing. The star of our show was the wagyu -- just as you want wagyu, melt in your mouth, buttery, smoky and delicious. We also wanted to try the prime rib so our server kindly recommended a smaller cut we could order to pass around. Also delicious. Oh, and don't skip the mashed potatoes with chicken jus. DId this over the famous palace potatoes and there were no regrets. Overall an excellent meal in a lovely setting.

Crab based appetizer was great, shrimp cocktail was perfectly prepared and sauce very good, shrimp maybe smaller than you'd find at other steak houses but still a good size. Palace Potatoes a must try. Palace Sauce kind of interesting but the Sauce au poivre was better choice. Neither really required though with the côte de bœuf however as the jus in the plate is substantial and out of this world. Beautiful restaurant, great staff.

A lot of it were like filler food. Like spam, different types of balls. It was mostly just beef or seafood. The beef didn't taste as tender as other places we been to before. It actually tastes quite dry. Our server also never really came around. We had to wait till someone comes around. Another weird thing that they do is add a mandatory 12% tips onto your bill. They do tell you before hand, but it felt obligated when it's forced onto the bill. Super weird

I have been to the Sutton Place hotel many times since I have friends living in the condos there, but this was a first to settle in to this beautiful heritage building dining room and take in the ambiance and vibe. It's a great location being right at the corner of Blue Jays Way and King with a nice view of the streetscape through the large windows, yet set back comfortably from the action outside. The evening in January brought some fluffy lazy snow dropping out of the sky which added to the drama of the view and the added context for our meal extravaganza that was coming for us. Check out my photos for the menu items that we tried, all ordered a la carte and from the menu for January 2026 that I have also included in my review. When each dish arrives, the server describes what it is which is nice. But with a larger table, a typical noisy din on a busy Saturday evening, often diners can't hear or understand what was said. Some of us would appreciate if the servers would slow down, and make sure we heard more clearly what we were in store for with each amazing dish. Otherwise, our service was great! The asians at the table appreciated the tea served in the typical familiar glass teapots when I asked what they wanted to drink, knowing that they were not into beer or cocktails like westerners, or even the other typical non-alcoholic beverages available. That helped make them happy with hanging out for an extended time in the fine dining tradition. We did have to ask for the servers to keep the tea flowing to our table, since that is part of the idea and the shared experience that needed inclusivity. The server explained that the menu was a mediterranean sharing menu, so we felt like we were a family. The free flowing tea dove-tailed nicely with that theme. It was a bit of a learning experience for the Abrielle staff to see that hey, we needed more tea cups and more tea for everyone!! Not just the teetotallers in the group, us beer drinkers want to be included too : ) When we turned down the dessert options it was a nice VIP touch that they brought out a little bite of a matcha mousse sweet at the end which was super tasty!
