Limited to no cellular, no wifi, limited to no TV. Which helps makes this place so great. Right on the north end of the Avenue of the Guants. Easy walking to nearby groves. Pets allowed. It's just up the street from Wildberries (a gourmet grocery store) and so easy to get to from any location in Arcata/Eureka/McKinleyville. Elly always makes renting the place so easy and I'm delighted to be able to stay there instead of renting a nondescript hotel room. So happy that this lovely cottage exists!

The bed is super-duper comfortable, with 100% cotton sheets and a heated bed pad. I also really appreciated the fact that the comforter had a duvet cover that gets washed in between every guest. Honestly, you can NOT do better for the price. Very reasonable rates for such a clean quiet place to stay and all the extras. Small dogs are welcome, too! Which was a big deal for me.

They have vacation rentals in Humboldt County in Trinidad, Arcata, and McKinleyville. We have only stayed in ones in Trinidad. Trinidad holds a special place in my heart and I absolutely love this quaint beach town! They have several properties in Trinidad that overlook the ocean and the views are absolutely stunning so you can pick the ones that works the best for you. Some of the properties also have a hot tub if that is something that you are looking for. They have dog friendly vacation rentals as well, which is important to us because we love going on mini vacations with our dog. Trinidad is such a beautiful area for a getaway and to have mindful moments to take in the natural beauty that surrounds you! We absolutely loved watching the sunsets and enjoying wine in the evenings! Trinidad is truly a magical place! The only negatives are that more and more people are discovering Trinidad so the prices in the area of bed and breakfasts and vacation rentals have gone up. Also, I don't love the fees that are associated with vacation rentals and the rules. Overall though, Trinidad is a beautiful place to stay and if you are looking for your own private oasis, Trinidad Retreats has some amazing properties to stay at!

R1 is on the end so the views probably are better in the 1br which is directly facing the water. Regardless, the location was great. Right in Old Town next to a bunch of restaurants, shops and the Co-op. Great place to cook but also conveniently located to go out. It's always wonderful to have a place to just "hang out" while on vacation. Do note that it is a condo, so we could hear the other members of our party while they were int he kitchen and we were in our bedroom but wasn't too big of a deal. HIGHLY recommend staying here. This place is a gem…read more We were in the area visiting the National Park and my partner wanted to come here for oysters. We stayed to hang out, got a tour of the place and it was amazing. Our bartender was great she was friendly had some great conversations with us and made the visit there that much better. We learned a lot about the area and found out she was originally not to far from where we are from. They have a great selection of beers and drinks, oysters and even have veggie dogs for the vegetarians out there. If you're in the area check this place out it's cozy and made for you to stay a while. Definitely want to come back up here and visit again.
